I must look really bad today!

I have an awful cold. I stayed home yesterday but came in today because it's one of my co-worker's day off and I usually work the later shift to cover for him. My other co-worker has all her kids coming in from out of town and I don't want to impose on her to ask her to stay late. Oh, before you all flame me, I just want to say that I'm the LAST person in the office to catch this cold--everyone else has had it over the last two weeks--so I'm not infecting everyone right before the holidays.

Well, in the last hour, three people have come up and asked me, "Do you need to go home? You look TERRIBLE." Umm...thanks?

Sorry you feel bad. Having to work when you have a cold is the pits. I think when people offer these "compliments" they are trying to commiserate with you.

Due to lots to get done at work and home this time of year, I've been getting up at 4 or 4:30 in the morning. My kids are 14, 13 and 10. The other evening I was at the mall and the clerk (about 60 yrs old) saw my Disney Visa and asked me if I was going to take my GRANDKIDS to Disneyland....That's when I knew I needed to get a bit more sleep...

Oh, you know I do, Stacey! I mean, I thought I was feeling a bit better till I heard how horrible I look!

missypie--you should have just slapped that clerk! DH gets that with dd from time to time--he's had white hair since he was in his early 30's. He' LOVES it when people say something about his "granddaughter." That's about the time I start referring to him as my "Paw."

The clerk who thought I was a grandma was at a Christian book store, so I didn't feel like I could say anything ugly to her.
