I was listening to the music from the Tapestry of Nation's Parade today, and was really wishing I could see it again someday.

There are some videos on Youtube, but they are of poor quality and kind of dark. I own the VHS of the Millennium celebrations that Disney put out in like 2001, but again it is VHS, and they hardly did any lengthy part of the parade.

Does anyone know of any better quality videos of this parade?

I am guessing HD wasn't around much when the parade ended years later in that Dreamweaver kind of format? Not sure what they changed the name to.

Still singing "WAYLA" after all these years.

I miss it too! There was nothing like going over, grabbing an adult beverage, finding a bench, and watching that parade..

The workmans comp people on the other hand...not missing it too much! :rotfl:

Tapestry of Nations was great, and I love how it tied in with Illuminations. They ruined it when they added the elves and made it Tapestry of Dreams.

Yeah I remember talking to a cast member who did the puppet costume and said it was really physical. I guess they deserved extra pay for that parade. They had to cancel the parade if there was a strong wind going on.

Were those elves? I never quite knew what they were on the newer version. I remember the lead one with the premature white and grey wig on him, and a couple of others, working those hands like they were doing a spell on you.

I really liked the puppet/adult/child combo costume.
I was tearing when the child shook my hand on one lucky performance night. If I smiled any harder, my jaw would have been in pain.

Another favorite part was watching the drummers, and hearing the beat as each drum float passed by.

Once in a while someone asks what would you do if you could go back in time and see WDW. This would be among my many choices.

We loved that parade! My favorite was the original, "The Great Millennia Walk," but we liked Tapestry of Nations very much too.

TOD, not so much. That Kenny Rogers on crack or whatever it was, was seriously a little weird! :guilty:

Can't imagine how hard it must have been to control and work those puppets. I know the performers always looked like they were working VERY hard!

Loved the drums... miss it and sure do wish they could come up with some improvements to allow them to bring it back. (Nations, not Dreams).

I live about 30 minutes from DL and Tapestry of Nations is still my favorite Disney parade. The second time we watched it we quickly learned to watch by one of the two middle gates you got to see the parade twice. One heading out and the other heading in. Grab a beer in Germany before the parade and all was good.

Must find my DVD of the parade.
