I might want to book the safari/dinner at Animal Kingdom Resort - worth it?

My daughter (13) and I are going to AK tomorrow. I was thinking of scheduling the Safari/dinner at AKL. Has anyone done it and what did you think? Also is there an easy way to get from AK to AKL without taking a bus?

You can take the theme park bus to AKL or you could catch an Uber, MinnieVan or Lyft. You cannot walk or fly or swim there.

If you are talking about the Wanyama Safari, it is pretty nice. Beverages and appetizers prior to the safari at Jiko. Then the safari at the Villas and Lodge and then back to Jiko for a family style dinner. We really enjoyed talking with the rest of the guests on the safari at dinner time. We probably didn't leave until around 8 or 8:30.

We’ve done the Wanyama safari four times. You gather for drinks and appetizers and a short chat from a CM from an African country about their country in the small room next to Jiko. Then you go out front and board your safari truck - maximum of 12 people. With you in the truck is a CM from husbandry who works at AKL, driving the truck is another AKL husbandry person. The CM tells you about the various animals as you drive through each of the 3 large savannas at AKL. They stop occasionally so you can stand and move about the truck for better photos. The safari through the savannas takes about an hour and a half. Then you have a very nice multi course dinner with wine at Jiko.
If there’s still openings and it doesn’t break your budget it’s a lovely experience.
