My daughter (13) and I are going to AK tomorrow. I was thinking of scheduling the Safari/dinner at AKL. Has anyone done it and what did you think? Also is there an easy way to get from AK to AKL without taking a bus?

Thanks!!

I did it twice and loved it, but did not have any teens with me. Does your kid love animals? Love taking pictures of animals? Or does she just tolerate it? How does she feel about eating dinner at a table with strangers? Last time I went, the people on the safari ate together. I believe the side dishes were passed around. I can't remember if the main dishes also were passed around. Have you looked at the menu for Jiko? Will you and your kid eat that type of food?

You could cab/Uber/Lyft from the park to the Lodge but the bus ride isn't bad.

You do not get to pick what you want off the menu (the food is pre-selected) but this gives you an idea of what it is like:

You can google "Wanyama Safari reviews" if you don't get enough feedback here.

If you decide that that whole safari option is not a good fit for you. There’s another good option I think. Book a dinner at Sanaa, and then go on the night safari. They give you night vision goggles to see the animals, and it’s really cool.
