I might want to book the safari/dinner at Animal Kingdom Resort - worth it?

My daughter (13) and I are at Disney. I didn't schedule any sit down dinners so I thought I would treat us to one big event/dinner with the Wanyama (spelling) safari. Has anyone done it and is it worth the price? We love the safari at Animal Kingdom and love all the food.

Also, It starts at 3:30 and I assume it leaves from the resort. Is there easy transport between Animal Kingdom and the resort other than a bus?

Any input would be lovely.
