I might "downgrade" to POP from AKL, but have some questions.....

Well, we have reservations at AKL for 11/16-11/24. I already have purchased our airfare, so we need to goahead with our trip even if there aren't any discounts. Since getting the airfare we have signed a contract to put in an inground pool - yay! NOW, we still have this expensive disney trip on the horizon. I was thinking of switching to POP from AKL - I could save over $1000 by doing this! The problem is, I don't know anything about POP? What building is closest to the buses & food? (but still a standard room). Is it that big wheel building? what is that building #? Am I crazy? $1000 - is $1000!!

Spoisal, I understand completely! Two years ago I wanted to stay at WL. I "settled" for CBR because we decided to get an inground pool. Our WDW trip was great, and our pool is wonderful (especially this hot summer!). Enjoy your POP vacation - and new pool!

I'm sorry that I can not tell you about the Pop, But you can save 1000. and still go to disney. Go for the pop what else is there to say only that you are going to DISNEY

Go for Pop...I have stayed at both and while I loved AKL, Pop is great also. Especially saving a $1000!!!

We stayed in the 80's section while we were there in March and it was a short walk to the food court and to the bus stop.

You can always go over to AKL and walk around the grounds to see the animals. There are many viewing stations there and it is beautiful.

DD and I loved Pop!!! 60's is the 'preferred' bldg. We stayed in a 50's bldg...number 2. It was a fair walk to Classic Hall, and the buses, but not a huge deal. I think the Big Wheel bldg might be 70's. I have a photo of it but can't remember what decade it was. My big suggestion would be to request a room away from the pool and on an upper level. We were way to the rear of our bldg on the third (of 4) floor. At the end of the hall. We were above the parking lot but noise was never an issue. And we got to watch IllumiNations in the distance a few times. I would have no issue staying at Pop again. The bus service was good, the CMs very friendly and helpful. The food court is large enough to handle the masses that attack at meal times. Save the $1000 and have a nice time poolside!!! I'm jealous!

I just switched from WL to POP and saved $800 for this December. We are not getting an inground pool , but we are planning on going back next July for 3 weeks. Needless to say that $800 will help pay for the next trip.

I know I will have a great time at Pop! I'm sure you will too!
