Too much chili powder...anything I can do to fix it??

Only way to fix it is to add more liquid...

I just did that myself on Weds... fortunately I had some Sasafrass powder I could throw in to help thicken it up after it got too watery

Try peeling a couple of whole potatoes and put them in the pot of chili for about a half hour, remove potatoes before serving. If that doesn't work, try 1 teaspoon of sugar at a time to neutralize the spices

I actually made the Vegetarian Chili from Columbia Harbour House, Magic Kingdom. I added all the ingredients but the green peppers, celery, black olives and hot sauce (good thing!)

As weird as it sounds, unsweetened baking chocolate will fix that problem right up. Don't worry, it won't taste like dessert! Somehow the chocolate mellows out the heat. Just make sure it's not sweetened:)

There's also always sour cream and cheese to mellow the heat.

Double everything except the chili powder (just add more chili powder if you find you need more)and freeze what you don't eat. Makes things easier for next time.

Also, serving on rice or as part of a "taco" salad mellows the heat.
