Let me see if I can not confuse you guys too... haha

My wife and I have annual passes that expire October 8th and we plan to renew them. We are going to go to the F&WF from October 24th until October 28th. We both have a one day ticket that we can apply to our annual pass renewal that we have been holding on to from a previous trip this summer.

So... I have a few options.

1) Book a room now with my current annual pass. Renew annual pass when it's due and then pay for food out of pocket.

2) Book a room now with my current annual pass and add one dining plan. Renew annual pass when it's due.

Then I started thinking of this.. The free dining is going on but only if you buy park tickets. If we go with this option, can we then upgrade our MYW tickets to our Annual Pass renewal? Plus the additional 1 day ticket I already have?

Sorry If I confused anyone. Thanks for any help. If a Dreams Unlimited person can help me out, I'll gladly book the trip with you guys. I just didn't know how to ask these questions on the form!

It's been my understanding that you can only apply the one day ticket towards the AP when you renew in person.

It doesn't matter if you have the annual pass today, tomorrow or the next day when booking the AP room. It only matters if you have the annual pass on the day you check in. If your current AP expires before you check in, you'll need to get the renewal before checking in, just in case the cast member asks to see it. (In most cases, they never have asked me, but there were times they have asked. It depends on the cast member, I think.)

Have you considered buying the Tables in Wonderland discount card? It's $75 for AP holders, and you can purchase it at the time you get your new APs from the parks or Downtown Disney Guest Relations kiosks. If you're going to spend more than $375 on table service during the course of your trip, the card will pay for itself. You're basically getting a net value of 2% plus gratuities paid, vs. paying OOP for gratuities in addition to the per diem rate of the DDP.

In your scenario, I'd probably want to book the room with the AP discount if available, buy the TiW card, and apply the one day pass from the prior trip to the cost of my AP renewal.
