The best part of New Years Day is checking out the new American girl doll!:lovestruc

DD is turning 7 in January and we've promised her a trip to AG NYC to celebrate! She received Felicity and Lanie for Christmas and wanted to get a JLY doll for her birthday when we went into the store (b/c she wants to go online with them!). But I just checked out the new doll and she is adorable! Love all the summer-ery clothing and accessories!

I'm not sure which doll dd is going to pick when we go in there!

Kanani is a beautiful doll! I'm sure DD7 will start working on next year's Christmas list as soon as she sees her. :)

I cheated and looked last month. DD wants her as we just came back from Hawaii and she looks like my DD (just longer hair and a little lighter eyes).
AG is killing us!

Oh, my - I want her! Oh, I mean DD6 wants her;)

Did anyone notice the price increase? She's $100 instead of the usual $95. Guess inflation has hit American Girl. She is pretty, but I'm going to wait for QVC.

Just checked and all of the dolls are $100 now...

She is very pretty! I received a catalog with an order a couple of days ago and DD and I have both looked through it a bunch of times. I am also glad to see the new outfits for the Historical Dolls.

She is beautiful! We were going to pass this year but I have to say I'm tempted to go ahead and order as soon as there is a free shipping code. We are moving to MN soon so hopefully the code comes first so I don't have to pay tax.

Yes, she is beautiful!! MY DD is REALLY wanting her so she can go to the Poly with us in March! I told her she had better start cleaning her room and saving her money!!

My DD8 wants her too--at present, she has Felicity, Lanie, and a MAG that Santa brought this year (and DD8 has been on the computer with her as much as possible). Elizabeth is technically mine, but she lives in DD8s room with the rest of the dolls. I told her that if she wants this one, she needs to start saving her allowance!

I just got the e-mail too and went to check her out. I want her for myself too. she is so adorable. We are doing the AG Day at the Chicago store for spring break and it comes with a $130 Gift card, so I hope this is what DD6 will spend it on.

I actually work for AG and I think I might be tempted to get her as well!! Mia used to be my favorite but I think it's now Kanani. Her long hair and green/hazel eyes are so pretty. I have an 11 year old who isn't as into her dolls now that she started middle school but I think I'm going to buy Kanani for me!! However I'm trying to save for Disney in August so I might have to wait until I get back!

DD12 is in love with Kanani. Her first words were.....oh, how I'd love to have her. Second words.....they have increased all the prices?!?

Can someone explain how to pronounce her name? We are debating.

I live in Kauai and was very excited to read about her!! It is great that AG is featuring info on the endangered monk seal.

You pronounce her name KA with an a like in call NA with the same a in call or tall or small and NI like knee.

Are the dolls cheaper on QVC?

That's funny that I posted that the doll looks a lot like my daughter and she wants her but her name is Mia. I JUST last week bought Mia off of Ebay (for a future birthday gift). Glad to know she's still a favorite.

Every so often American Girl will do a segment on QVC and they sell collections. I think that last year they did Felicity & Elizabeth, Josefina and I know they did Chrissa the previous year. I can't remember if they did a Lanie special last year or not. I think they are priced at a bit of a savings but I can't remember exactly and I also think that they did less segments this past year than they did the year before. They usually let us know when they are doing a special on QVC because we end up getting a lot of questions about it at the store.

Since you work for AG, I have a question for you. In the catalog they have a bit of info about the 25th Birthday cruise on the Celebrity Eclipse in November. Do you know where I can find more information?

It's up on the website. All the info is there including the pricing plus all the activities that are planned. Just click the Book Now button to see the pricing and more info. Looks like a great cruise for an American Girl fan!

My DD8 just received her 1st AG doll, Kit...along with her dog Gracie and her scooter. Unfortunately after wanting the doll for over a year....she has only played with it once....for all of 15 minutes and has not picked it up since.. She is really not into dolls at all.....which saddens me, but loves the American Girl book series.

Thanks, it wasn't up when I looked this morning. I love the variety of activities. I wish it wasn't Thanksgiving week though.
