I Love the Little Fishies. Don't You?

Great update Corinna & Graham with some fantastic pictures :thumbsup2

I can't believe how much you managed to squeeze into one day :worship:

Corinna I love your spotty dress

Can't wait for the next update

Great fish pics, especially the one that looks like it is smiling! Love the black/white sundress, and the necklace is so clever!

The smiling fish is actually the stalker fish. It followed me all over the place. I wonder if the smile is really an evil grin.

Welcome on board. Everybody is welcome here. I like taking photos, but I still have a lot to learn.

I have never got into scapbooking and indeed, most of my photos only exist in digital format. This time round, I got something that was meant to be a guest book and that is is A4 or letter size. I had the pages signed by the characters and eventually I will add the corresponding photos to this.

What a lovely day! Thank you both for all the pictures of Chankanaab, it is a beautiful place. We'll be back to Cozumel next year and I need to plan. That fish did look like it had an evil grin! :rotfl:

Loved seeing the characters in their Mexican outfits, I don't think I've seen them before.

Glad the table arrangement was consolidated. And what fun that there were people you'd met on a previous cruise :)

Sorry I am so late to the party Corinna! I missed it completely :-( but on the positive side it's like having a dvd boxset and not having to wait every week for the first 5 episodes lol. So now I got to season break! I understand wanting to stay at airport the night before we do that too but this time it was just too pricey! I find mid week seems to be worse in the UK. Glad that your second flight eventually made it! How nice to see CM Drew and to learn of his promotion :-)

Cool re seeing family from previous cruise. Sorry about your magnets. But you made it look pretty anyway from both sides.

I am always impressed by the amount of characters on the ships. You have captured some amazing moments. Love the one of you and Goofy that's the bomb. I love them all but how nice you and Graham with white background. Cool re Stitch!

Oh my word to think I might have missed the jewellery photos! I am so delighted to have seen those stunning! The night of the Golden Mickey's your dress and Graham's waistcoat! What amazing photos to treasure. Will you display them at home? Frame any?

Key West looks great! Lol re them serving key lime pie on the ship. Omg I must find this mango smoothie it sounds divine. No smoothie is too thick for me!

Chankanaab was a great read also. Sorry your lense steamed up. Pleasure overload lol! But looks like a wonderful day.

Glad I am finally here. Ready for the mid season to continue lol...

I love that black and white dress, so cute!!! Very rockabilly.

We did the excursion to the ruins and then Playa Mia. The ruins were really interesting but I was not impressed with Playa Mia at all. Next time Chankanaab looks like the place to go. It looks beautiful. I'll watch out for stalking fish, although he just really looks happy to see you. :)

Those tequila liquors sound delicious!

My picture with goofy came out with his head chopped off also, short photographer maybe? :)

I really recommend Chankanaab. If you need any pointers, please let me know. It is really easy to get there and it is an inexpensive and fun day out.

I have only seen the characters on three cruises: the two Panama Canal cruises and our Mexican Riviera cruise. I think there is a good chance that they will wear their Mexican outfits for your Baja cruise next year.

Welcome on board. It is good to see you over here.

We are rapidly running out of space on the walls to hang anything more. I do have a digital photo frame though and may add some of the photos to that.

The Mango Mountain Hike Smoothie is delicious. They also do a strawberry smoothie, but I can't have this as it contains bananas.

I am sure that fish was happy to see me. I am just not sure of the motive behind his happiness ;).

We went to see the Chacchoben ruins when we were in Costa Maya in 2012 and they were amazing. So I never felt like seeing the ruins at San Gervaso.

I was trying to remember who took those photos. Most of the photos are amazing. The second one from the Goofy set had completely chopped off his head.

Love the look of Chankanaab. I'm surprised that they moved the Mayan artefacts there. Lovely fish pictures and yes, I love the little fishes. ;) You got a bargain with the spa.

Love the character pictures and you look fantastic with that black/white dress. Yet more interesting jewellery. Did anyone onboard comment?

I got so far behind, but caught up now. I am loving the pictures.
I have been thinking about a trip to Chankanaab on my next trip to Cozumel. I need to do some more looking when I have time to dream.
You have some beautiful pictures from there. Do they rent snorkel gear out there as well?

I am loving all of your character photos. I love Mickey's Mexican outfit....that is really cute and so is Minnie for that matter!

Is there anything cuter than Mexican dressed Minnie? So cute!

Love all the dresses but especially the black and white. So festive and pretty. The gold ears are great too with the other dress.

I didn't realize how many wonderful photo opportunities there were on board.

Thanks for the photos of Chankanaab. May have to give it a try next time. The water is so blue. :cloud9:

Because I was late joining I am reading and looking at the pictures again in detail. At the start at the airport you mention a beautiful statue and collage containing Swarovski crystals. Omg I love Swarovski I would have loved to have seen that! What was the statue depicting? Was it a plane? How amazing that must have been.

There will be plenty more fishes. The Mayan artifacts at Chankanaab are not genuine, but all replicas. I think they are finest fibreglass. Still, it is all rather well done.

I did get some comments about the jewellery and especially on this pendant as it says "Wonder".

Chankanaab is a great day out. I am always surprised just how little information there is about this online. I think they do hire out snorkeling gear, but we always have brought our own.

I was thrilled that I got the whole collection of characters in their Mexican outfits that day.

Chankanaab is beautiful and such a bargain as well. The water also tends to be a quite pleasant temperature year round. We have been in October, November, December and May.

There are plenty of photo opportunities on board. There are more on the longer cruises like this one, but even on our 5 nighter in December, I was pretty busy with the various characters and other photo opportunities.

I love Swarovski, too. I am a bit of a magpie and then to be drawn to anything that glitters and shines. Yes, the statue was a plane and it was amazing. Just a real nightmare to take photos of. Even without the flash, there was a lot of glare.

Cool re plane statue. Worth a visit to see that! And Key West was it worth a trip to Southwest point? I understand there is a train for those of us that can't walk it.

Thanks for such a great report on this day and the place. It wasnt really on my radar for Cozumel until you posted about the variety of activities available. I showed your report of this day to Fran and she has decided that this is where we will go on our cruise next Fall.

I love the black and white dress and all the character photos are just so cute!

I am glad we made it, but I don't think I would have enjoyed it when it was busier. Yes, there is the Conch Train, but I think the closest stop is still a fare walk away. I would just get a taxi.

Day 6

This was for all intents and purposes supposed to be a nice quiet day, but ended up as probably one of the most active days that I had. It started leisurely enough. We had not set the Mickey that morning, but initially we were still awake bright and early at around 6:00 AM. We opened the curtains and checked out the weather situation. Even though it was a beautiful bright day, we decided that we really had nowhere to go at that point. We chatted for a bit and then fell asleep again. I have to admit that although I still have a preference for the Bat Cave aka inside cabin, it is nice to have a nap with the sun shining in through your porthole.

We were awake again just before 8:00 and got up and ready. We headed up to deck 4 and made ourselves comfortable in the area by the shops until it was time for Walk a Mile. Our walking buddy that morning was Sophie who is from our area of the UK. We had a nice time talking while walking. Once we had done our three laps, we said goodbye to her and headed off for breakfast.

We decided to go to Triton's for breakfast that morning. We were seated straightaway, but then it took a while until we were given the menus. We both had some coffee. Graham had an Orange juice and I had an Apple juice. While we were waiting to order, Graham had a Croissant and I had a Cherry Danish Pastry. Eventually somebody took our order. Graham had Fresh Fruit with Yoghurt and Granola followed by Express, which consists of Scrambled Eggs, Grilled Ham, Bacon, Sausage and Hash Brown. I raided the kid's menu and went with Dale's Omelet, which was filled with Turkey Sausage and Sweet Corn and came with Bacon and Hash Brown on the side. I also had the Peanut Butter and Jelly Typhoon, which is a Pancake with Peanut Butter and Jam and a side of Fresh Fruit.

After we ordered, I decided to head to Guest Services. I figured I would be back before our food arrived. Since 2012, I have wanted to do the Chocolate and Beverage Tasting and this had always clashed with our Palo Brunch. I was determined that I would do it on this cruise. This was offered at 12:00 that day. I have often booked the tastings on the same day and did not foresee any problems. I was very surprised when I was told that this was sold out. I asked if this was offered again this cruise and he confirmed that it was, but this was sold out, too. Oh well, I will try again next year.

Shortly after I got back to Triton's, our food arrived. This did definitely hit the spot. Once we had finished breakfast, we both went our separate ways. I had some characters to meet and Graham headed for deck 4 with his telescope to see if he could spot any interesting wildlife. They had the characters out in pairs. I managed to see Mickey and Minnie and Goofy and Pluto in quick succession. Then I had a little downtime during which I checked out where exactly Graham was. I found him and kept him company until it was time for the next character set. This time round, Donald and Daisy and Chip and Dale were out. They had very short lines and I was soon finished. I quickly went down to our cabin to grab my book and then I rejoined Graham. I could not find a spare lounger, but the benches where they keep the spare life jackets are quite comfortable. I spent a happy 90 minutes or so reading my book; enjoying the warm weather and watching the world go by.

Then it was time to meet some more characters. The characters were out in their beachwear again in the gazebo on deck 9. I turned this into an art form. I headed up to deck 9 at the end of a character set and then stayed until the next character came out. After this, I would go back to deck 4 to read my book until it was coming up to the end of the next character set. This worked really well and I managed to meet Donald, Mickey, Pluto, Daisy, Minnie, Goofy, Chip and Dale and Stitch. I was so absorbed in this that I totally forgot about the photo scavenger hunt that somebody had organized for the group.

[

By the time I had finished with all the characters, I was ready for some food. We had big breakfast, but by then it was just gone 15:00 and dinner was still a fair while away. We took our stuff back to the cabin and then headed up to deck 9 for some food. I had a hot dog with fries from Pluto's Dog House and Graham had some Pepperoni Pizza from Pinocchio's Pizzeria. I also got us some ice cream. I had Vanilla and Chocolate Swirl and Graham had Banana and Strawberry Swirl. We decided afterwards that we fancied a drink. We headed to the Outlook Cafe. This is my favourite spot on the Wonder and I could not believe that it had taken me 5 days to find my way there. Graham had a Cafe Toledo without the chocolate and I had a Margarita. It was nice just relaxing up there with a drink and enjoying the view.

I wanted to check something on the Navigator so we headed down to deck 3. I am sure that there used to be a big copy of the Navigator on display on deck 9 previously, but I could not find this on this cruise. Still, we were midship anyway so it was easy to head down to Guest Services. On the way, we got intercepted by our DJ friend who checked if we were joining him for Walk A Mile. We had thought about giving this a pass this afternoon, but he was asking so nicely. So we told him we would be there. We still had a little time until Walk A Mile started so we checked out the photos in our folder. I was very happy with my photos up to that point.

We then headed forward to wait for our walking buddy. He arrived a little early as well and we were chatting while we waited to see if somebody else would turn up. Walk a Mile was great fun again. Once we said goodbye to our walking buddy, it was time for me to catch some characters. I only had time to see either Minnie or Chip and Dale in the first character set and opted for Chip and Dale. I then sat down on the chairs on deck 4 overlooking the atrium and waited for Goofy to come out. Once I had seen him, I went downstairs to see Donald and then I headed to the cabin to get showered and changed.

My hair at that stage of the cruise was the longest it had ever been. Still, it had been that long for a while and I always let my hair dry on its own. For some reason that evening, the damp hair really annoyed me. I headed to Mickey's Mates and got a hair clip. I then went into one of the bathrooms nearby and quickly put the hair up. I felt much happier after this. I then got into line for Goofy. All the characters were in fine form during this set. Donald was flirting with we me and giving me kisses. Pluto tickled me with his whiskers. My favourite character photo also came about that evening. The worrying thing is that I have no recollection of this happening. I remember that I had a fantastic interaction with Captain Mickey and I got so caught up in the magic of the moment that I cannot remember the details, but only how it made me feel. It was only when we were looking at the photos the next day and Graham asked me if there is something I needed to tell him that I realized what had happened.

I headed back to the cabin, as I was not sure if Graham knew where we were due for dinner that night. He decided that he was quite tired and was going to give dinner a miss. As this was the night for the rotational menu at Parrot Cay and this is one of my favourite menus, I decided to go to dinner on my own. Most of our tablemates were at dinner and it was good fun.

Unfortunately I realized very quickly that they had revamped the dinner. This meant that some things that had previously been safe for me to eat where no longer so and some other safe options had been removed completely. My normal appetizer on this menu is Jamaican Marinated Chicken Tenderloins in a Sizzling Spicy Jerk Sauce with a Chunky Bleu Cheese Dressing. Previously this consisted of grilled chicken strips with a garnish of fried vegetable strips. This time round, the chicken strips were in a Tempura-style batter and came with fried Plantains on the side. Fortunately I did ask our server what was on the side and when he told me, I mentioned that I was allergic to bananas. He took this back to the galley and brought out a fresh plate minus the Plantains. The salad course and the main course were fortunately still the same. I had West Indies Romaine Salad, which consists of Fresh Crisp Romaine tossed with a Creamy Romano Dressing topped with West Indies spice Dusted Croutons. For my main course I had another old favourite: Braised Jerk Seasoned Pork Chop -Slow Braised Pork Chop served with a Warm Curried Peach Relish and Cornmeal Cakes. They were both delicious. When the dessert menu came out, I realized that two of my favourite desserts had gone. The Crème Brûlée Cheesecake and the Chocolate S`More Vanilla Cake were no longer on the menu. This dessert menu is now very heavy on banana. Our server was not going to take no for an answer as far as dessert was concerned that evening and when I told him that I really did not want anything, he brought me out a dessert anyway. Unfortunately he had not realized that this contained banana to. I don't think I ever saw him move as quickly when the realization dawned on him. Before I knew it, the dessert had been whisked away again. He offered to get me something from one of the other restaurants. I politely declined. With hindsight I should have asked for one of the Grand Marnier Soufflés from Triton's, but at the time I just had enough. Twice that evening I had something served to me that was dangerous for me. I know that DCL keeps detailed files on their customers so I cannot understand that the only really important thing they need to know about me goes wrong on every cruise. I said goodnight and headed off. I stopped in the atrium for some photos against the white backdrop and then headed back to the cabin. Graham was fast asleep, but had left a light on for me. I got ready for bed and then went to sleep, too.

You've got me green with envy. My man Mickey has never gotten on bended knee for me. Good for you! :thumbsup2

What great pictures with the characters. You must just spend most of your time in line with them. What a great use of time.

That's a shame about the revamped menu. I hope that the next cruise, Disney will be a better at keeping bananas away from your plate.

That's a great blue polkadot dress. Love the jewellery as well.
