I just found out that on Oct 31st they will be having "Storybook Day" and all the kids are supposed to come to school wearing a costume!!! We will also be having a "Fall Party" that day. DD is so excited that she gets to wear her princess costume to school.
So many schools are just getting rid of all celebrations or even acknowledging the day. Sure, I wish it was the good all days and we could have an actual Halloween Party and Halloween costumes. But at least her school is doing what they can to make it a fun day for the kids and letting them enjoy childhood.

Having a small "Fall Party" is up to the discretion of the teacher..the older grades usually don't do anything. I think it is a shame, I used to look forward to Halloween in grade school..we would work in the morning, go home for lunch and come back in our costumes to have a party all afternoon.
