He makes me laugh from the other side of the world.:lmao:I am making Beer Cheese soup for dinner (LeCellier recipe) and reached in the utility drawer for a bottle opener for the beer. I didn't look at the one I grabbed, and was I surprised when it played "The Army Goes Rolling Along" when I opened the bottle. I know it sounds stupid, but it's nice to find little fun reminders of him around the house when he is overseas.:goodvibes

That's sweet and I totally understand how you feel. DH is deploying to A-stan on July 31 and he has already told me to look for some little suprises while he is gone for the year. I am looking forward to finding little reminders of him throughout the house.

Just wanted to say that I was afraid that the first word of this post was going to be "but..." (As in, I love my husband BUT...)

So glad to see that you love your husband. :thumbsup2

Thumbs up to marriages where people enjoy their relationship and enjoy each other. :cool1:

Thank you both for your service (yours AND spouses!)

My story isn't as noble, but fun nonetheless.

When I was dating my husband, I stayed in his apartment while he took a trip to England. After I returned "home" from dropping him off at the airport, I started to fix dinner. There was a note in the fridge. This started a nice long pattern of me finding notes for me all over the place to be found doing normal tasks. (The one in the freezer was a blue paper with "I thought you'd NEVER open the door, it is FREEZING in here!" for example!)

Hi,

Nice post.

My son in law (currently Captain, AFB Rapid City) will be deployed in Jan 2011 for the first time.
Great idea to leave little reminders of him for my DD and their almost toddler.

herc.

Awwwwhhhh! Happy 4th of July to both of you! :thumbsup2

Awww. This is my favorite thread of the day! My heart goes out to you for being supportive and my thanks go out to him for what he is doing!
(And, isn't it nice to have a man "praising" thread instead of a man "bashing" one?)

:lmao:I'm not sure how noble my musical beer bottle opener story is, but you story made me LOL!

That's awesome. I love when we can laugh about soemthing they did when the guys are away. It really warms the heart.

Several years ago during a deployment, my husband emailed me a song for valentine's day. Brad Paisley's "Ticks". Such a romantic song you know;)

I emailed him back a country song called "Did I shave my legs for this?"

Well thanks for a nice DH thread :thumbsup2 and thanks to all our service people and their very supportive families who also serve

Incredibly sweet, these instances!

I've been thinking all day about how great my husband treats me. I've been sick for days and he's been waiting on me very lovingly and I so appreciate it.

Hooray for the good men in our lives!

Aw...so sweet! And thanks to your hubby for all that he does!

My DH borrowed my binoculars for his boat once. When I got them back, we went camping. The kids were pointing out a bald eagle, so I grabbed the binocs...but couldn't see out of them. I looked at the ends -- he'd cut little circles of paper and stuffed them into the big ends of the lenses -- they read, "I love" on one circle and "Kate" on the other. :rotfl:

...and yeah, Kate's my name, not some mistress of his! :lmao:
