I found this site earlier in the week and spent hours reading the posts, and making a few myself. Finding you guys really helped in my planning process. Heck, you had a lot to do with devising the plan.

This is my first pre-trip report, so please bear with me.

Tuesday I received an email from a counterpart in central Florida inviting me to a planning meeting next Friday, 10/27. Of course the meeting is in Orlando. So, I forward the email to my supervisor.

Wednesday I spoke with my supervisor and the chief deputy (I'm in law enforcement), and got the approval. At this point I figured I'd just drive to Orlando on Thursday, go to the meeting on Friday and drive home

Thursday, Continue hanging out at the DIS, and the wheels start to turn. Call the DW, "See if you can get next Thursday and Friday off. I have to go to Orlando for a meeting. We can spend a couple of days visiting the mouse." "Cool, I'll let you know."

Friday morning, the DW gets approval. Cool!

Call the kennel and make reservations for the boys (2 Labrador Retrievers). Cool!

Read a post about MNSSHP. Tickets still available for 10/27. Order tickets. Cool!

Order a one day park hopper for Saturday. Cool!

Call and make reservations at the POP for Thursday, Friday and Saturday. Cool!

Get home and brainstorm with the DW. I ask the DW, "What are you going to do Friday while I'm at my meeting?" "Shopping!" Oh lordy! ;) I also tell her she's in charge of dining, and show her where to find the restaurants on disney.com. She picks out a couple.

Call and make reservations at Liberty Tree Tavern on Friday evening and Le Cellier for lunch on Saturday. Cool!

She also likes to eat at the Rain Forest Cafe, so we may do that on Thursday evening, and I may call and see if there are reservations available for Mickey's Backyard BBQ for Saturday evening.

Well, that's the grand plan. So far. :goodvibes

From one newbie to another, welcome to Disboards!!!

We are having a whirlwind trip ourselves-I decided just 2 & a half weeks ago my kids and I needed to get away to the best place on Earth for everything we've been thru the last six or so months. I know the trip is meant to be as I got dining ressies everywhere I wanted to go, INCLUDING CRT!!!

I hope you have a great time on your trip!!

Welcome! It is great when things just fall into place! Sometimes those are the best getaways!

Have a wonderful time! We love LTT and I just made ressies for Le Cellier for lunch on Saturday 11/4!

amazing, gotta love that. Enjoy your trip, and hope your meeting isn't to bad :)

Gotta love staying with that mouse

Welcome to the DIS too.

When my kids were growing up, we always did last minute trips. They were the only ones that ever worked out. If I planned anything, it never happened.

You are really lucky to live so close to WDW.
