I love credit cards so much! v7.0 - 2025 (see first page for add'l details)

Did you put things in your cart and proceed to check out? It's currently showing 1x on the initial page but then in the cart you can see the 1.5x, assuming you still have points that qualify for the 1.5. It's annoying for sure but you do get your 1.5 redemption when you get through it.
Ahh, ok, I thought they nurfed everything like that, and no, I was just kicking tires for a redemption.
Also i forgot the edit got seriously nurfed also.

DP: This year we went a little lower key on churning. Used our CSR a lot this year in the absence of an MSR. I think I saw our spending was over 20k, which I was surprised by. Anyway, the higher annual fee posted on Nov 1, so we just missed the cut off. Called about a retention offer and there wasn't one for us. Very disappointing to have missed the lower fee by just a few days and not get a retention offer on high spending (for us).

I've found good value with points boost and EDIT and next year I think I have some good plans for using the EDIT credits and the special hotel credit as well, so we'll keep it open for another year.
Data points have shown that people with higher spends have not gotten retention offers. For us it will depend on how much work travel my husband puts on it this year. Because 4x CSR vs 2x CSP does make a big difference.

We have managed to start using the credits, but it is work & planning. Saw Spamalot for free using Stubhub. Used the dining accidentally when it worked at the wrong Hell’s Kitchen restaurant. And we have a February weekend in Boston planned using the Edit and will use the dining credit for 1st half of the year there. Between that Edit booking, topping off his Marriott account to get enough for our hotel in San Juan and booking 11 out of our 14 nights in Hawaii at Hyatt using transferred points, we definitely get value. But we are tapped out of URs now.

Has anyone here used PayPal bill pay? I'm just seeing this as an option...

It looks like Chase canceled the 1.5x on all travel; now it's only the bonus travel. I bet the Chase Sapphire is next. I really wonder what Bilt will have in store besides Hyatt. I don't know why I am holding onto Chase cards.
We rarely use the travel portal anymore. I do think we may wind up using it for some boutique hotel bookings on a Christmas markets trip next year and beyond. Have yet to find a decent use for the Edit credit but am not giving up hope. We were able to double dip on a Chase Reserve Exclusive Table that was also on Resy for an anniversary dinner in South Florida's only 2 star Michelin restaurant, L'Atelier de Joël Robuchon in Miami. That was nice. I am hoping Stub Hub will come in handy for a show or two down the line since I don't care about sportsball. We will likely keep the card until we are past the 1.5 on UR portal in 2027 since I know I will have some other boutique hotel stays down the line during peak Christmas markets season in Europe. Most of the points we we earn wind up goin to Hyatt. We use the Freedom for 5x and it is no fee. I use my Freedom Unlimited for dining at 3x when it isn't a Friday or Saturday Citi dining time for 6x on the Strata Elite and I am not with DH who has the Amex gold for 4x on dining. Also on non bonus cat purchases at 1.5 which I alternate with the BBP at 2x. Basic travel things where I don't need insurance, or get a better bonus, I use the Chase Ink Preferred for 3x. Mostly though, I will use the old Chase Ink Plus and Chase Ink Cash for the 5x categories. I do still find those to be a good value for 3rd party gift cards. My annual dues for DVC are significant enough, just under $14k this year, to use for an MSR or 2 and also pick up Disney gift cards at 5x throughout the year.
