I love credit cards so much! v7.0 - 2025 (see first page for add'l details)

Is there a limit on number of transfers to Hyatt from Chase? I did one transfer over a week ago & got our Kauai hotel. I have enough to book our Maui (but not enough to do that & Oahu). I should have enough after the next statement closes. But I don’t want to transfer & book now if the third transfer in a few weeks will get held up.

There's no limit. If you do one after another quickly, second one might get held up for fraud risk. But a week in between should be fine.

Anyone here used Brightline from MCO-Miami? looking for thoughts...vs. renting a car and driving down...
I took it from MCO to Ft Lauderdale and there was a major accident at one of the crossings we had to go through. The accident happened earlier in the day (5 or 6 hours before we got there) but it still delayed us. We ended up sitting still for over two hours and this was the day before a cruise so we were starting to worry because they didn’t communicate with us at all to let us know what was going on. If you have to be there by a certain time I’d rent a car. If you have all the time in the world, Brightline is a nice change.

thanks... it sounds like a more relaxing way to get there overall,no real schedule to keep. I'm wondering how harrowing the driving is...

I am considering my first checking account bonus attempt! It's with Chase (I have many Chase cards, but no other relationship with them). The timing works because I wanted to have a completely separate checking account for my little side gig making buttons anyway, so I might as well get a bonus out of it if I can!

The fine print says I need to have $1500 in there at all times to get the bonus, and that I need to have direct deposit set up in order to prevent a monthly fee.

I plan to deposit $1500 to open the account, and then change my work DD to put like $50/check in there for the next few months. Is it really that simple?

Is there anything else specific to Chase you think I should know about? I don't see too many posts about frustrations with them so I feel like this will be pretty smooth.

When DW wanted to do this I was against it but TBH a pleasant experience. Miami driver's are crazy 🤣 also didn't have to pay for parking not sure we would do it any other way now to Miami or fort Lauderdale for cruises. Also we rebooked business otw back because the price went down. Not sure I would pay that much more than 25$ each way for it.

What bonus are you referring to?
If it’s total chase checking then that has to have $500 in DD to earn the bonus ($300).
To not be charged a fee you have to have DD of $500 a month or keep $1,500 in there.

We just DD the minimum (you don’t have to do the $500 at once it can add up to $500 I.e 2 paychecks of $250) then we immediately Zelle the money to our main account.

Well I am very glad you asked because I could have sworn the email I received... which I can no longer find, of course... did not have the $500 DD ( i didn't think it specified an amount). But I am looking at the T and C online now.

So if I:
  • Open the account with $1500
  • DD $250 per paycheck for 3 pay periods/6 weeks (just to be on the safe side)
  • Never go below the $1500
Then I think I should be ok, yes?

Thank you!

Assuming it is the one I was seeing online yes.

Since you are already doing the $500 DD a month to meet the bonus and this would avoid the monthly fee so I wouldn't worry about keeping $1,500 in there if you just continue to have $250 of every pay cycle going in there (assuming bi-weekly schedule)

If you can't zelle the money to your other account you can withdraw it with an external transfer to your primary account.

I saw on one of the FB groups for my NC beach an off season listing we couldn't pass up. We're renting a house at the beach from now till 5/10 for $1k/mo.

I had to read this a few times because that's an insane deal! I live only 3 hours from the NC coast and that sounds like something I'd like to do, lol! Do you mind asking what beach community?
