I love credit cards so much! v7.0 - 2025 (see first page for add'l details)

I love Breeze (I do Nicer). They have nonstops from my airport (RIC) to Fort Myers. Also good to fly with my dog. Flew down to Fort Myers on SW last night. I am so over SW! Breeze also has an option to buy tickets at the airport on Tuesdays to save the technology fee. I haven't tried that yet.
I bought a membership to a travel guy who goes to the airport and books for me. As for booking yourself, some airports have long lines, others dont. The money saved is usually pretty decent though.

wow...the BF deals have been insane all week! I need to stop now :rotfl2: seriously I'v e stocked up on so many items on sale... I'm good with my fave supplements for a year after this.... just got a good deal on some dis gc's and stocked up on kitty litter with some awesome discounts (petsmart-rakuten 20% back, free quick ship!) and the streaming deals came thru too so I'm gonna stop so I can pay my bills this month:teacher:

That's funny. Yeah when people ask me about BF shopping, I'm not at all a fun shopper. I too just stock up on things we need... my skincare, dog food & treats, essentials like toilet cleaner and toothpaste... but hey, if it's discounted, why not?! I often wish grocery stores would run Black Friday sales on food... I don't need an 85" TV but I need milk, bread and eggs! LOL

Good morning. My name is Meli.
  • I live outside the US as a US citizen, so I have a US mailing address for applying, but I definitely need all cards to have no foreign transaction fees.
  • I always pay off my cards and have never paid interest
  • No Southwest where we are
  • Looking for travel rewards for airfare or cash back, whichever is a better plan
  • Current card is CO VentureX (more than 24m old account), it is in my husband's name, I have a BoA that was Spirit but changed to Unlimited Cash rewards years ago when Spirit was going through changes, and the points were not worth it.
  • Daughter is Stateside for University, so looking for the best way to get her flights to us or us to her. She graduates in May of 2027. Looking to get the most bang for 5 of us going to her.
  • Spouse, myself, and 4 kids, home airport is XPL (SAP is an option). Daughter SGF (MCI is an option for the trip)

We loved the X card because it gave all users access to Priority Pass, and our flights often take us through DFW with the CO lounge. But as of Feb 1st, that perk is going away, so now looking into other options for our family.

Ugh. Breeze’s BF sale did me no favors. I didn’t know they’d release a discount code at midnight. People must’ve booked immediately because the flights I was looking at went up by $800 with the discount.

At that point the price was basically the same as AA’s so I just booked because watching and waiting is not helping me any with this trip.

At least putting this & the Hawaii flights on my husband’s CSR should get us enough URs to book the Hyatt in Oahu.

Also booked our first Edit hotel stay for February in Boston over the kids’ break. Hopefully no snowstorm. We’ll be going to the Science Center & Art Museum since we didn’t do that in our August trip. And using the CSR dining credit as well, lol. Staying at the Kimpton Marlowe. It was $585 before the Edit credit, Used 16750 URs to leave $250 for the credit. Self parking doesn’t seem too bad for Boston (no idea if we can use the $100 credit towards it).

Yeah Breeze can go from cheap to expensive real quick once the plane starts to fill up.

I stayed at the Kimpton Marlowe this summer with a FNC and liked it. My IHG status gave me a free welcome amenity credit. They had a small area where you can choose something from and the credit was up to a set amount. I wanted to max it out so I chose an overpriced beer. I don't know if that was necessary though because the full credit was deducted as a line item on the final bill. I thought the parking was reasonable and convenient. There is also a secret password for Kimpton but I learned about this too late, so I don't know what it would have given me.

Hyatt Chase free night award: Used 2024's free night award on Oct 25, 2025.
FNC was set to expire on November 2.

Meanwhile, on Oct 4, 2025, I received notice that 2025's credit card free night award would be deposited soon.
Closed the card by calling on Oct 17, 2025. Said they would mail back my paid annual fee which I had paid immediately when posted. It showed up as a credit on my closed account and stayed there until I called and asked about it this past week. They moved the credit for me to my Sapphire card, and it appeared today.

So, the FNC should have arrived as it had already been earned. Original annual fee was paid on opening 7 years ago.

I'm guessing I have to call Chase to have them get the FNC deposited. I went to actually book it for my end of January trip and it wasn't there - should have arrived in early November. Had to retrace usage of the nights, or I'd be guessing.

I feel the night should have been deposited as it was earned. Any comments? I'll be calling later, have to go to an appointment in a few minutes.

Good to know. I’m hoping it’s a good stay. Because if so it’ll probably be where we stay again since the CSR will give a $250 edit & $250 IHG credit come 2026.
NYC & Boston are pretty much equidistant for us, but using the credit in Boston seems to go further. And driving to Boston vs taking Metro North into NYC is better since we can pack a cooler with snacks & drinks for the room.

Marriott says no to beers. Didn't really want one as I'm not much of a beer drinker but I always ask as I'll happily throw it in my cooler. I just gave my granddaughter the Tates cookies I picked up a couple of weeks ago.

The last IHG I stayed at was stingy. So I told them I'd get my amenity later. Came down and the stingy one was gone and the other guy said take whatever you want. I threw a small bag of skittles in my case for the grands. I did not ask for beer.

Now I'm wondering if it is state law with regard to the alcohol.
