I need to start accruing some United miles. I am 1/24, last card CIU 6/2025. I have 5 Chase personal & 3 biz cards ( just messaged to close a biz card)
Do I have a better chance on a personal card or a biz card?

Regarding a United card -

When I was choosing a card for a different airline, I was looking at:

1) Does having that card automatically put me in a good boarding group at the airport? If you are one of the last to board, they might force you to gate-check your bag. I don't want to have to do that.

2) Do I get to check bags for free with the card? If I make one trip to my destination and one trip home, how much would I save on the checked bag fee? How does that compare to the annual fee? The card might allow you to check bags for numerous people in your party for free; if you're traveling with more than one person, then the savings on just one trip might exceed the annual fee.

The Walmart I got is 25% back up to $25. Will this work on dis gc online?

We were delayed with Jetblue before. They gave us some meal vouchers and travel credits (maybe $50 each, but memory is fuzzy).

For the CSR insurance, you would need to be delayed at least 6 hours or requiring overnight stay for a covered reason (equipment failure, inclement weather, strike and hijacking/skyjacking). Guide to benefits here.

Hope you get home soon!
We made it home. In the end we were delayed a little over 3 hours, which felt like much longer since it was 2am when we landed and we were all exhausted.
Jet blue gave each of us a $12 voucher that we can use today at any sit-down or fast food restaurant. (Register your MC or Visa and get reimbursed). Meh.

I had prepaid for parking in Boston and had put 12:15am as my exit from the garage, thinking that was plenty of buffer time, but I was charged an extra $23 since I didn’t leave until 2:15am. Any chance I can get Jet Blue to pay that?

IS Jetblue simple to switch if my points flight price drops? Or would I need to cancel/rebook

Question for all you fine CC gurus.

I used a card with a bonus 10% cash back on airfare purchases. I bought airfare then my flight changed to a whole new day so I had to cancel the flights to be able to rebook. My question is - once the refund for the airfare comes through, will the cash back offer be 'refunded' so I can reuse it on the repurchase of the airfare?

What I found out with JetBlue - you can only make one online change to a flight. I had a points flight, pts dropped so I changed it online. Points dropped again, I could not change online and I could not even cancel it online. Had to chat with a rep to cancel the flight, and rebooked at the lower rate. My advice - always cancel and rebook, unless you are certain you will not need any more changes.

So I have been watching some YT videos that mention that there will be elevated SUB for the personal CSR coming online very soon. I think 200k from the current 120k?

I had wanted to take advantage of the 120k, so the 200k is even more enticing.

I have never had the CSR but currently hold the CSP.

Should I go ahead and product change my CSP in the hopes that I can apply for the CSR when the elevated offer comes out? I think that there will be the language that you do not qualify if you ever earned the Sapphire bonus before but I hope Chase lets me slide as there is DP that some people are getting the CSR bonus even after previously having a CSP.

Is the only way to PC the CSP to call Chase? Can we SM? Is the recommended PC to Chase Freedom Flex card?

I think that my Netflix monthly subscription automatically goes to my CSP. I will need to research to see which card to switch it to.

How long after PC is the recommended time to wait until new application? Do support still work for personal cards? If not, will going into the branch help?

The offer is targeted in branch. Here's the DoC info. Link

You do need to call to PC. Usually, you need to wait 4 days after a PC to apply, but I recall reading that in branch you have to wait 30 days.

I think our meal voucher could only be used in airport, so slight improvement. I doubt they'll reimburse you for parking, but if you complain maybe they'd give courtesy points.

Just looked at their customer service plan and you only get the travel credit for delays of 4+ hours. Link Starting next year, they're going to give points instead. Which I think is a lot better assuming the amount works out to 1 cpp.

Thanks, it shows as closed now when I checked, but I checked immediately after the call and it didn't show as closed then. It still shows the 99 fee, though I assume that will drop off eventually?

I closed by chat, there's an account closure option. It showed immediately as closed when I went back to the account page. I wonder if the method makes the difference.

15 days for AF refund is what I've read. I didn't want to deal with having to pay and getting refunded, so canceled right before the AF charged (but definitely a year after).
