I love credit cards so much! v7.0 - 2025 (see first page for add'l details)

Are boosts random?

I believe the boosts are specific hotels or chains that have some promotional agreement with Chase. No idea how often these boosts come and go, though, or if they'll always be there for that specific hotel.

What happens if I cancel….i think I read correctly I’ll get my points back?
That screenshot does show free cancellation by a certain deadline.

That said, there are both nonrefundable and refundable bookings through the portal. Always look at the details of the specific booking you're on before you confirm.

Any suggestions for the best current 0% APR introductory deal? Any pitfalls to watch out for before making a (relatively) big purchase using one?

I currently hold two cards. Main card paid off each month (have had it 15-20 years now). Secondary card is backup only used 1-2 times per year and is two years old. Haven’t applied for a card since.

No debt other than what is on the primary card at any point in time but I’ve got a bit less cash than I’d like at the moment.

Thanks.

Are you looking for just 0% deals? Or 0% deals that you would earn something on your spend?

There are a few cards that will give you a longer time at 0% but won't earn anything back.

WF has one for 21 months with no rewards but you could get a Chase Freedom Flex (CFF) or Chase Freedom Unlimited (CFU) that gives 15 months and would give you a $200 bonus for spending $500 in the first 3 months. CFF earns 1x everywhere except it has rotating categories that you have to activate and then it earns 5x on up to $1,500 in those categories for the quarter.
The CFU earns 1.5x on all purchases.

Both cards also earn 3x back on drugstores and dining and 5x on travel purchased through the chase travel portal.

The WF Reflect, CFF and CFU are all $0 Annual Fee cards

We drove up to the Finger Lakes today. Took my CIC along just in case. Stopped for lunch at a Panera near Harrisburg, there was a Staples in the same strip mall. Had plenty of them, but the store has a policy of only selling $1000 of gift cards at a time, so I got 5. Later we were looking for gas, and DH noticed there was a Sheetz and Staples near each other in Williamsport PA so I got another 1000.
Went to my local Staples today and found just one kind of Visa gift card - the $20-$500 Visa E-gift with no card inside. I've not noticed this card on the carousel before. I'm only usually looking for one thing, the fee free $200's.

The store was too busy for me to ask any questions so I just left. I know you can buy egift online, but has anyone noticed them instore before?

I then stopped at another Staples where there were no Visa cards of any type.

I was able to cancel for free when they made a schedule change earlier this year. I had to call in to do this. First I cancelled on line but my points weren't returned. I had to call to get the points back. More difficult than some but not bad.
Awesome. Thank you.

Anyone else at their wit's end with the Atmos integration? I have an Alaska card and a Hawaiian card and I'm getting the benefits of neither.
ME!!! It has been a nightmare. I have tickets I really need to book and my Alaska miles are currently MIA and my husband's Hawaiian points just aren't usable because their site won't update partner flights or something? I am so frustrated.

when booking JetBlue, the lowest tier on points, (blue basic) is it really no change or cancel even using points?

Yeah, my local ones had the variable amounts. I am pretty disgusted with my N. VA Staples. Heading home tomorrow, may stop on the way home and see if I can get a few more.

Chase changed the 48 month rules for the Chase Sapphire cards this year just when I was about to apply for the CSR. I got my CSP in 7/2021 and was ready to pull the trigger this year. Then Chase started doing pop ups for alot of people. I didn't want to bother and stress about it because I had not been keeping up with the CC news while selling our house.

When the BizCSR came out, I applied for that instead. I am now more than halfway through the $30k MSR after just 2 months. So, I am eyeing what my next new new cards will be and thinking of expanding into other reward programs...

But before I do, I keep thinking about the Chase 5/24 rule. That CSR I have been waitng on is still on my mind... Maybe I should try for it before starting to get personal cards elsewhere. Ultimate goal would be for me to keep it and have P2 product change his CSR to a CSP in 12 months when the next AF is due. He was lucky to just get the renewal at $550.

Refresh my memory about what I need to do please. I currently have the CSP. I need to product change it to the Chase Freedom Flex? Or something else? Is that still a thing? And then wait about a week to apply for the CSR?

I am in no rush to apply yet because I am still working on the MSR on the BizCSR but the current SUB for the CSR of 125k is very attractive and I want to be ready to apply before it goes away. I figure that now that I have the BizCSR. I won't need to carry the CSP for redemptions from my accounts.

I also need to go into the branch to change my name to my married name on all my banks accounts and on all my credit cards as well, if they can help me to do so. I applied for my BizCSR under my maiden name because I didn't want it not to show up under my business log in. Sigh, what a PITA. I am afraid to change my loyalty program names until I change it at Chase because if they are different, I can not transfer points.

I will wait to apply for the CSR after my name change is completed. Hmmm... should I product change my CSP now or after I change my name? Decisions, decisions...

I transferred URs to Hyatt already and reserved our rooms for Paris (Louvre) and London (Blackfriars) already for next year. The reservation is under my maiden name. Once I change my name with the Hyatt program, can I ask them to change the name on the reservations at the same time?

I went over 29 years without changing name on everything, why now?!! Lol. After we got married, I changed my SS card name and nothing else. I used my maiden name professionally but my pay check was in my married name and I filed taxes in my married name. Our deed and mortgage was in my married name but the documents had my maiden name as an aka.

When we got married, I jokingly promised to change my name officially for our 25th wedding anniversary. I changed my passport when I last renewed it and therefore on all my airline FF programs. After we sold our house in NY earlier this year and we moved to FL, I got my new DL in my married name and now there is no turning back! Lol.

Sorry for the mini rant. I don't know how so many women do it. I guess it might have been better to have changed my name 29 years ago when I had so much less stuff! But I wanted to keep my personal and professional life separate at the time.

My branch wasn’t able to help and just provided the same name change form that I had received via secure message.

Hopefully you will have more success with your branch.

Thank you for the excellent information. The more I think about it the more I think earning something is just as important as the rate. I’d probably be wanting to pay this off in 6-9 months.

what do you mean? I haven't looked closeley yet but you've got me concerned

For example, Hawaiian cardholders are supposed to see discounted fares when redeeming points, which I'm not. And I can't get a straight answer on whether I'm going to get free checked bags like I'm supposed to for my flights to Honolulu in February.
