Chase changed the 48 month rules for the Chase Sapphire cards this year just when I was about to apply for the CSR. I got my CSP in 7/2021 and was ready to pull the trigger this year. Then Chase started doing pop ups for alot of people. I didn't want to bother and stress about it because I had not been keeping up with the CC news while selling our house.
When the BizCSR came out, I applied for that instead. I am now more than halfway through the $30k MSR after just 2 months. So, I am eyeing what my next new new cards will be and thinking of expanding into other reward programs...
But before I do, I keep thinking about the Chase 5/24 rule. That CSR I have been waitng on is still on my mind... Maybe I should try for it before starting to get personal cards elsewhere. Ultimate goal would be for me to keep it and have P2 product change his CSR to a CSP in 12 months when the next AF is due. He was lucky to just get the renewal at $550.
Refresh my memory about what I need to do please. I currently have the CSP. I need to product change it to the Chase Freedom Flex? Or something else? Is that still a thing? And then wait about a week to apply for the CSR?
I am in no rush to apply yet because I am still working on the MSR on the BizCSR but the current SUB for the CSR of 125k is very attractive and I want to be ready to apply before it goes away. I figure that now that I have the BizCSR. I won't need to carry the CSP for redemptions from my accounts.
I also need to go into the branch to change my name to my married name on all my banks accounts and on all my credit cards as well, if they can help me to do so. I applied for my BizCSR under my maiden name because I didn't want it not to show up under my business log in. Sigh, what a PITA. I am afraid to change my loyalty program names until I change it at Chase because if they are different, I can not transfer points.
I will wait to apply for the CSR after my name change is completed. Hmmm... should I product change my CSP now or after I change my name? Decisions, decisions...
I transferred URs to Hyatt already and reserved our rooms for Paris (Louvre) and London (Blackfriars) already for next year. The reservation is under my maiden name. Once I change my name with the Hyatt program, can I ask them to change the name on the reservations at the same time?
I went over 29 years without changing name on everything, why now?!! Lol. After we got married, I changed my SS card name and nothing else. I used my maiden name professionally but my pay check was in my married name and I filed taxes in my married name. Our deed and mortgage was in my married name but the documents had my maiden name as an aka.
When we got married, I jokingly promised to change my name officially for our 25th wedding anniversary. I changed my passport when I last renewed it and therefore on all my airline FF programs. After we sold our house in NY earlier this year and we moved to FL, I got my new DL in my married name and now there is no turning back! Lol.
Sorry for the mini rant. I don't know how so many women do it. I guess it might have been better to have changed my name 29 years ago when I had so much less stuff! But I wanted to keep my personal and professional life separate at the time.
