I love credit cards so much! v7.0 - 2025 (see first page for add'l details)

Well I waited and waited and the MR transfer to Hawaiian has ended. I wasn’t paying attention and it actually ended in the wee hours of this morning. For sure thought I’d have until end of day today.

Oh well. I wasn’t 100% sure I wanted to transfer anyway.
I have never flown Alaska or Hawaiian and all of a sudden I just got hit with the biggest FOMO remembering today was the last day, came here to see if I should preemptively do it since everyone seems to love Alaska miles and lo and behold I see your post. It's probably for the better...maybe...lol

Does anyone have any recommendations for a way to attach an AirTag to a set of keys? I see that Apple itself sells several different options. And of course Amazon has a gazillion options, although my trust in the authenticity of anything ordered from Amazon is pretty low these days.

Chase freedom flex isn't taking new applications or product changes according to other threads I wonder if they are closing the downgrade path or if it's temporary.
Is this just for CSR? I wonder if it matters that CSR is a Visa and Flex is a MC

@becauseimnew I'm super excited for your Norway trip in 2026. It is on the short list for us as well. Would love to hear more about what you've booked.
So far just the flights to Oslo. I’m still working on our itinerary.
But these are the highlights:
Overnight train from Oslo to Bergen, Flåm scenic train, glacier hike, possible DNT cabin, Geiranger fjord, overnight ferry from Ålesund to Bergen to return the car and catch a flight to Tromsø for a few nights to catch the midnight sun. Flight back home from Tromsø, again on Finnair but hoping to book with AA miles.
I’m trying get an itinerary and hotels booked by the end of July, because right now prices aren’t too crazy. Car rental is $500/week, hotels are pricey so we might also mark off another first and stay at a couple of Hostels.

Not sure if you've come across Strawberry/Nordic Choice hotels, but I recall OMAAT has posted about this deal a few times. I think it usually drops in springtime for the summer months.
That car rental price is great!

No just got the freedom with rotating categories it's just for the flex don't think you can get the visa anymore but not sure.
The visa wasn’t as good as the flex no dining or drugstore at 3% but had the super power of being able to be used at Costco which was valuable when they had warehouses at 5% during the quarter.

You haven’t been able to apply for it once the flex came out but you were able to change to it. Glad you were able to do so.

Flights lately from MSP to like Orlando or Miami are in the range of 25,000 to 30,000 points each way... and 1 or 2 stops..
SW out of MSP is pretty much useless these days. I only ever use them for my annual step mom taxes trip to TN and even then it’s getting harder to get a non stop at a normal time, much less a good price.

Had given up hope on being able to use the aspire resort credit for first half of the year. Just got the card end of April. FNC finally posted Friday morning, June 27. Booked the resort that day for a December trip, got the $200 advance charge made that evening. It posted June 29 and I see the credit has been applied as of this morning. Not sure I could have cut it any closer than that. Looking at my spreadsheet, we applied for the aspire on April 25.

I think there are some Universal Studios fans here. What’s a good place to stay on cheap $/points/Bonvoy FNC within walking distance to US? I have Royal Pacific booked for a few nights but thinking of staying last night on the cheap (will still get EP on checkout day). Thanks.

Dd (me) just received IA for the CSR (using my referral) with a $10k CL.

I did some calculations beforehand:
  • I can use the $250 Edit credit + the $500 & $300 travel credits for my upcoming stay in Athens
  • I'm sure I'll be able to use the second $250 Edit credit in 2026 since I have Japan in January, Paris & Amsterdam in April and Switzerland & Lake Como in May
  • I'll set up the new CSR on my Peleton account, use the credit in full, then switch over to mine (my CSR renews in February, so I'll be able to make full use of the credit on both accounts before the end of 2027)
  • I'll treat myself to a nice dinner in Boston before leaving for London in September (same trip mentioned above) to use the dining credit
  • Apple TV will be easy to use
There is zero chance I'll keep the second CSR on renewal, so I will downgrade it.

This was a tough decision because dd is most likely taking a year off before applying for an advanced degree (DVM), so no big spend in the fall this year.

We have stayed at the Hyatt House Across From Universal studios and it did the trick using hyatt points from chase

@palhockeymomof2 I fly out of ISP regularly. Today I flew SW. Sometimes its JB or Frontier. They all stink. And they are all awesome. I wish I could find a clear winner to put my $ behind. Can I ask you how you decide who is worthy of a CC? I fly to MCO alot but my son might be transferring to a school in south florida. And the hubs and I have been eyeing a place near tampa. I am so confused that I am considering getting the frontier cc. I also think I may just stick with UR’s.

All Long Islander opinions welcome here….

Also, my nephew recently made the PAL hockey all star team. I was wondering what age group your kids are. We were always PAL football, no hockey but I still have the scars😂
