I love credit cards so much! v7.0 - 2025 (see first page for add'l details)

wwyd- if I was gonna go for that Rauten offer MR or Cashback? I don't use MR too much but I could find a use for those (usually transfer to Hilton when it's a bonus)

I don't know how to link to the reddit post but it seems there is a Rakuten bonus if you open a CSP through them?

I have never had Rakuten but if it's truly a $300 bonus that seems pretty amazing!
when i clicked it for giggles looks like 30k rakuten + 100k chase.

Question. Am looking at booking a few rooms prior to a cruise. I have 3 Marriott Certificates available. I know I can use for rooms at 35,000 points or less and can add 15,000 points for total of 50,000 points per room

The rooms I want are 57,000 points, so that doesn't work. They are also offering $100 plus 28,500 points. Does anyone know if I can use the FN Certificates for the 28,500 points and then pay the $100? I tried booking online but didn't give me that option. Just wasn't sure if they could do it if I called...

Question on applying after doing a PC with Chase. Do I have to wait 4 business days or 4 calendar days. I PC'd on Wednesday last week.

Oh no, I did not get instant approval! If I get denied, can I PC back, or am I stuck with the Freedom for a year?

You can PC it back. I would think you'd still get the cashback/MR if you're approved later, but I don't know how well it works in practice.

I have NEVER not had instant approval from Chase. P2 has, but not me. I am very worried LOL
There are tons of first time data points of people who have been Chase customers for forever that recently go pending or denied for ID verification. So don't worry just yet. I'd wait a day or two and if you don't hear anything, call in and ask.

Unfortunately I don't think that you can. The room has to be available for 35-50k points to use the certificates.

I want to use Chase UR to "pool" points with a non-household member (my mom) via transfer partner. Some transfer partners I thought of were:

Hyatt- can pool/transfer
Flying Blue- theoretically, but I already have a family pool with the max adults (2)
AirCanada- seems they have a family pooling program
Marriott- poor value
Emirates- has a family pooling with includes immediate family members, which would work for me

It seems the AU transfer route is only for household members and I'm risk adverse to this boundary.

Any other thoughts? I'd prefer not to have to deal with booking anything from one of her accts bc if an issue comes up and she has to be involved, it will be super messy with her. Hyatt and Emirates seem to be the best options.

@LynnTH This⬆️. I recently booked a Marriott property and needed to stay under 65 pts. I've been watching and rebooking as prices change. The swings are wild up to 16 pts. So, I would use one of the alert programs and set an alert for 50k.

at least its me and not P2, I don't mind calling, and at least its personal and not business :-)

I would transfer points and do a guest of honor, I don't think Chase will allow this.
Also I know there is a hyatt transfer form I still think that would work.

Does anyone know if the 50% off companion with Hawaiian Airlines requires you to pay with the Hawaiian Card? The terms state
  • These discounts are good on roundtrip coach travel between Hawaii and North America, booked directly with Hawaiian Airlines through the Primary Cardmember’s HawaiianMiles Program Account.
  • Offer must be redeemed through the Primary Cardmember’s Program Account.
The wording has me wondering if "program account" could just mean my Hawaiian Air Miles account. Id really like to use my Amex Platinum to book.
