I love credit cards so much! v7.0 - 2025 (see first page for add'l details)

Will someone please remind me... if I currently have a CSP (got the bonus back in 2020), do I need to close it or anything before applying for another one?

I have a lot of spend coming up so I am considering going into a branch... don't think I can wait till the 3rd to apply online.

New DP out, maybe you don't need to wait 30 days after PC for in branch offer. Link Only 1 DP though, so hard to tell if something changed or it's YMMV.

Anyone have experience flying out of Indianapolis International Airport?

I'm helping chaperone a trip (40 people total, high school kids and adults) and we will need to return 5 rental vans.

Trying to time dinner beforehand and plan how much time we have to eat, and how early we need to be at the airport.

From google maps the airport seems fairly small and the rental car return area seems easy to get to, but I thought I'd ask.

Our flight is scheduled to depart at 8:20PM Indy time, and most of us will be checking a bag.

If we arrive at the airport at 6:20 PM do you think we will have time to turn in the rental cars and check our bags without being overly stressed for time?
Yep. Two hours prior is good at IND. It’s my home airport and I fly about once a month. I aim for 75-90 minutes prior to departure, BUT I have TSA pre check, don’t usually check a bag, and am not returning a car.

You’ll return the rental vehicle in the garage and it’s a short walk from there to the terminal.

Staying at the JWMarriott on Marco island in May using the FHR credit on my plat. I lost my Bonvoy platinum status last year but have currently had the boundless card since August’23. Was thinking about upgrading to the ritz card. Any advantage to doing that before our Marco trip? I’m thinking no it won’t help us out any but thought I’d ask. Currently have 31 elite nights so even if they add the 15 right away it won’t bump us to platinum.

After seven years playing the CC game I was finally able to take advantage of using a CC when buying a car! We found out when we got to the Hertz auto sales that contrary to what Google says they do in fact allow up to $3k on a Visa or MC. Since I was financing through my credit union I had to wait for them to send a check, which gave me time to have Chase expedite my new CIC in time to use it. I'm excited to have met the first portion of the SUB with one transaction and have twelve months to pay it off.

For the record I had been denied another INK at the end of December. Since then I lowered my obscene credit line on my IHG personal and closed my other INKs leaving me with just one CIU that I was using for places that didn't take Amex or for when I didn't have a SUB I was working on the past few months. They thankfully gave me a $10k credit limit.

I am very excited this worked out. Especially since a few days before I had a giant emergency vet bill and didn't have enough credit limit on my US Bank Triple Cash that I am trying to earn the SUB on because they only gave me $4k for a $6k spend so had to use my CSR 😭

I hope the fur baby is okay! I've had that happen before, last May, and the vet hospital was nice enough to allow me to change my payment method a week later once my new card arrived--that is, they refunded the previous payment and took payment again with the new card. I had to talk to the office manager but worth asking because it was $6K.

And congrats on the INK and the car!

Happy New Year! May 2025 bring you points in abundance and enjoyable redemptions!
I couldn't figure out how to quote from a closed thread, but I found your content doing a search:

I don't think Citi will mind (I rode the grAAvy train years ago). I cancelled several of the CitiBiz cards in the past and still got approved for the CitiBiz AA card this year, after my 48 mo waiting period from the last bonus posted.

I'm just wondering how long you waited to reapply for the AA card? I have a personal Citi AA card that I would like to either cancel or downgrade, then reapply for the 75,000 bonus right now.

I will be downgrading my CSP soon. I think I will downgrade to the CFU.

Our other CHASE cards:
Me: CFF
DH: CSP, CFU

Does the CFU make the most sense?

So about downgrading the current CSP so I can get another one....

I have the "OG" Chase Freedom card, which is my oldest card and both my kids are still on it as AU's.

Knowing that, what should I be asking for to downgrade the current CSP to? (sorry for a terrible sentence)

Decided to give it a try for a CIP after DH's app was successful yesterday. Got a call from the fraud dept asking if it was me and then they approved it. 6000 CL.

My other Inks - CIC from Jan '24 and CIU from July '24. Still using the CIC occasionally since they denied me in Jan for a new one claiming it was a fraudulent application; still have a balance on the CIU at 0%. Have enough CL on the other 2 to move some over. I got a US Bank triple cash in Jan when Chase denied me, almost done with that MSR.

You can have 2 of the OGFreedoms if you’d like…if you don’t have a CFU you could PC to that

My brother applied for a Disney premier visa on Monday and it went pending. He only has two open cards, excellent credit, etc. he called today and they just said it was still under review, nothing they could do. Is that unusual for a Disney credit card?
sometimes they will reject cards if they think you have too much available credit...

I applied for a chase card many many years ago and was denied because I didn't know about 5/24 at the time. that's another factor can only open 5 cards within 24 months...

then when the approved me for the chase cards I have now, they gave me massive credit lines. so who knows!

Since you don’t have the Visa version of the Freedom with 5x quarterly categories I’d ask for that…I see people ask to PC to Freedom with Ultimate Rewards
Is this the OG Freedom that is no longer available? I was wondering if I could downgrade to that, but wasn't sure. Can I PC via SM?

Has anyone used Barclays for a HYSA? I've used C1 forever (although for a lot of reasons I have zero respect for them as a business). But I can't make my HYSA PoD to my trust. It looks like Barclays currently has a higher interest rate and I can make it PoD to my trust. Just wondering if anyone has any personal experience.

Yes it’s the OG Freedom…unfortunately have to call to PC, since they need to read you the terms and conditions of the new card
