I love credit cards so much! v7.0 - 2025 (see first page for add'l details)

Why does Hyatt make it such a pain to combine points vs Marriott/Hilton. I've submitted the form twice and no reply yet. We need this for our last Hawaii hotel and I would love everything in place for when we surprise the kids at Christmas (not traveling until June). Also is there any trick to using the $50 CSP hotel credit? Doesn't seem exceptionally useful but not sure if I am missing something!

Is the amount over 200k points? I was told that amounts over that require extra verification and take longer. The ones I've done this year under that amount took 3-4 days. Make sure all the account info matches exactly.

For the CSP hotel credit, I've made refundable reservations, wait for the credit, then canceled. It hasn't been clawed back in the past, but that might change in the future. If it's going to waste anyways, I don't see a risk.

Its only 10k points! I guess maybe I'll call if its not done by Friday since thats 3 days since the 2nd request.

Good to know on the CSP credit!

Anyone try an online gift card from HimmelHospitality.com for the CSR dining credit. I'm in the Greater Boston area and was hoping to get a gift card to Grill 23. Looks like Grill 23, The Banks Seafood & Steak, Bistro du Midi, & Harvest are all the same owner and are under HimellHospitality .com for gift cards. I know third party gift card processors don't work, but hoping this might work since it seems to be the parent company, not third party? Any DPs out there?

Anyone have a good side hustle for making extra cash? DD just got into her first choice college. Yay! The tuition is insane! Boo!
No help with side hustle but can feel your pain. My DD is in her first year of grad school. Private undergrad school was about $70k a year. Grad school is running about $88k. Glad the end is in sight. Also thankful my youngest DS chose to go to a 1yr Tech school. He's already out and nearly financially independent from me.

Luckily mine is looking at the in-state university which is actually pretty good. Her inheritance (which my husband helped grow) should cover everything and may even have some leftover depending on whether she gets any academic scholarships.

No idea about grad school at this point. If she does consider it I would probably ask her to consider an EU university that has free/low cost for EU citizens.

Wanted to reintroduce myself as I have not been active on Disboards for years but have used what I have learned here to travel affordably since about for many years. Sincere thanks to anyone here who had something to do with that! I have leaned heavily on Chase and SW and have squeezed several thousands of dollars out of their UR portal but all of that seems to be running dry. I am due to apply for another card next week and I just learned from my brother about the new “lifetime” changes so I don’t think I should even try unless there is a workaround? For the first time in forever (sorry) I am lost. I know there are many other options out there but I’ve never really had to look outside of the Chase sandbox because it has really satisfied my travel needs. Not trying to annoy anyone and I’m sure this has been discussed here but I can’t find it in my searches and I know this is a fast moving thread. If anyone would be so kind as to give me their 2 cents or even just point me in the right direction, I would truly appreciate it. Here are my details:

P1
12/24 - Chase Ink Unlimited
03/25 - Chase Ink Unlimited
06/25 - Chase Sapphire Reserve
09/25 - Chase Ink Cash

P2
10/25 - Chase Ink Cash
01/25 - Chase Ink Unlimited
05/25 - Chase Sapphire Preferred

*I can 3-4k of spend most months sometimes more
*I payoff CCs a few times a month
*We fly out of PVD or BOS
*Preference of Frequent Flyer program would be something that works out of those airports.
*Southwest services our airport and we have used them almost exclusively in the past and have had many years with 1 or 2 CPs but with their recent changes and Chase’s recent tightening up we are open to other airlines that may be better if needed.
*No Hotel Rewards program preference but would like as much flexibility as possible
*We have been using Chase points almost exclusively for years
*Goals are domestic family travel including Disney occasionally, trips to Europe also interested in exploring cash back
*We have a few ski trips that are paid for and a Universal Disney trip planned in April but we have no current solid travel plans after that
*There are 4 of us: 2 adults, a 16 year old and 14 year old

Have you had the Chase Ink Preferred before? If not, you can go for that when you're down to 2 open Chase biz cards. That's the easy answer since you're comfortable with Chase.

Otherwise, you could get into Amex. It's possible to amass a lot of MRs. Current highs are personal plat 175k, biz plat 300k, biz gold 200k. You might have to dig for it though. The plats are high AF with lots of credits that might take some work to track and use. It's good timing though since it's triple dip season for the credits that are calendar year based.

The Citi Strata Elite is high at 100k. I find the credits a little easier to use. But it's hard to get a lot of Thank You points.

My DS is a junior and just starting to look at schools. He’s not 100% sure what he even wants to do. He’ll most likely stay in state for multiple reasons, one of which is in state tuition rates. I’m dreading tuition.

Thanks so much! Just looking through my spreadsheet. P1 had 4 CIPs with the last one opening in 2019 and P2 had 2 CIPs with the last one opening in 2019. I'm assuming that means I'm out? Definitely need to learn about Amex. We've never held any of their cars before.

Welcome back….we have also stuck with Chase for URs and SW for the CP. It can’t hurt to have P2 try for a CIP and if they get the pop up….try for a SW card…I actually prefer the assigned seating.
Also trying to decide where to go next, really don’t want anymore high AF cards since I keep a CSR for PYB and the travel portal.
