I love credit cards so much! v6.0 - 2023 (see first page for add'l details)

I'm thinking my strategy for my next cards is going to be a US Bank business card (possibly triple cash) plus paying the annual fee on a Barclay Aviator card (or cards) in order to earn those AA miles before the card possibly becomes unavailable. A few questions about this strategy:

1) I read that some people will get more than one Barclays card in a day since it would only be one hard pull and would get around Barclays' limits on velocity. Would there be any concern with getting both the personal and business Aviators in this way?

2) Anything in general, I should know about Barclays cards or applications? Would be my first application with them.

3) Suggestions about weather I should go for the Barclay versus US Bank card first?

Thanks for the help!

Oh snap, you're right! They still have information about the card up on their website so I didn't even realize that it wasn't available to apply for. Must have been confusing the personal card SUB with the business card. I guess that answers one of my questions!

Had to change terminals in ATL, luckily it was to B so I was able to get a mediocre breakfast sandwich at the skyclub grab and go there, use the bathroom and made it when they announced zone 1 so a short wait to 3.

Flight was warm and so dry, even with my mask on. I wear it to create my own humidity to keep my nose happy, but everything but my nose was dry.

I'd read a lot on reddit how people don't like the fc seats on the 321neo but I liked it and didn't have issues with it not being as cushy of a seat. Some people bring seat cushions for it.

Closed my CIP on Nov 1, so have 2 Chase biz cards open. Denied for CIU :(. Wanted to get in on the elevated bonus. Reasons -

too many requests for credit or opened accounts with us
• Insufficient business revenue

My last Chase card was CIU on July 8. CIC opened in Jan. Sounds like what many others were told on denial.

There's been many denial DPs on r/churning the last few days. A couple were with 2 Inks open (didn't specify if they had other Chase biz cards). I don't know what to make of it yet. :(

Yikes. I was planning on applying for a CIC or CIU next week.

Very happy for you! I was getting worried that Amex was going to get more stringent and watchful
Thank you ❤️. I won’t be cutting it close on my platinum sub just for my own sanity. I’m so relieved.

The only thing that didn’t earn points was my Venmo transaction. I even donated to a go fund me so I was also worried about that one, but it posted as charity.

Probably should have read on here before applying this afternoon. Closed a CIU on 10/31. Two other business cards - CIP and CIC. Last chase card opened was CIP in January. Limits were well below the $70K/50% of income. Looks like a flat out denial. Says I will get a letter in 7-10 days. Never been denied before!!

Sorry. If you look online tomorrow, you can find the denial letter. It's hard to locate - under statements & documents, then notices and letters under documents, then notices and letters for you tab.

Sorry about the denial. :(

Both you and @georgina closed one fairly recently. So I'm not sure if it needs to be 1 open now or if the closure was too recent. Or if there's some completely different criteria now. Feels like the change happened this month, just like how it seems the last change happened after the start of October.

Do we know/think this is just affecting business cards? I'll be hitting my 48 on the Sapphire soon, and was going to apply likely Feb or March. I do have 3 biz cards open as well, CIU, CIC and CIP which was most recently in August, so I definitely don't think I'll chance it for another biz card. But hopefully this is not a trend of things to come. On the personal side, I hold both IHG cards (discontinued Select and Premier), and a Freedom Flex.

So after doing my budgeting and upcoming bills, I don't think I want another $$$$ AF right now. I'm back at 2/24 right now. I guess I could go for the IHG Premier card again since Chase doesn't want to give me the IHG biz. I could just spend on the cards I have though too. I still need to decide if I want to downgrade my CSR. I guess I really need to look at what I get w/ it right now. I can always upgrade my CSP if needed.

I'd use the pre approval thing cap 1 has ans then decide. I wouldn't do anything with the csr until you know if you have the card. Cap 1 won't pre-approve me for the x and they always send me money about being pre-approved for the quicksilver which I don't want. I have 2 savings accounts with them, which doesn't matter.

They want people that will pay interest so having a lot of available credit and low to no balances, along with too many new cards for them and it's going to be a denial.
I did their preapproval. It didn't show the Venture X. So can I assume they don't like me? I had the Venture Rewards and Savor and other cards I don't want.

Recently back from a short 4 nt trip to Iceland with just the hubby. The vibe we were going for was "cozy" and we definitely hit that on the head.

ORD-KEF economy RT on IcelandAir 46kUR booked through Chase Travel
My GBF and his BF were there the same time as you. He said they missed out on the northern lights most nights because it was too cloudy! That would be my luck!

I was able to register. Are you logged into your account, not P2's? That's the only thing I can think of.
For those of you doing the flight cents, are you doing the spend bonus too they offered in Oct/Nov/Dec?

Question for anyone that has been to a TS concert: is it worth it to go to the merch pre-sale (2 days before her first show)? I don't want to spend hours in line on the day of the concert. But I know that I'd spend at least 2-3 hours in line at the pre-sale; though they are opening 3 stores at the stadium for 2 days before her first concert.
As someone who isn't a swifty, I went shopping during the show, LOL. No lines!

All comfy and almost asleep waiting for my flight to atl to take off and the freakin first officer didn't shoe. 2 hr delay so back to the sky club. They hope to actually laleave. Suddenly glad I have a 3 hour layover in atl.
As the GF of a FO, and assuming flying out of ATL, it might be delta, Delta reroutes like CRAZY! MY BF came home a whole day earlier this past trip, LOL. So the FO might have been rerouted. Yes, still a "no-show" but normally if it's a sick call, they have reserves, or they offer $$$$$$. So my money would be on a reroute.

Was the sea to atl flight. No idea where they were, someone new showed up.

I'm flying out of Logan next week with my daughter who's 16 and my sister. I have a Chase Sapphire Reserve and we plan to go to the lounge. I've never been to an airport lounge before and don't want to embarass myself. So please tell me what I need to know. Will the 16-year-old be allowed in? Is everything free? Do you tip? Anything else I should be aware of? Thanks!!

During COVID times, I recall some commenters here preferring to keep this board a relaxing place, free of mask discussions, etc. In keeping with that mindset, I posted a discussion question over on the News and Discussions thread of DISCHURNERs. I would value your opinions over there regarding 2025 international travel security, post-election.

Just biz. I haven't seen an uptick in personal denials at all.
