I love credit cards so much! v6.0 - 2023 (see first page for add'l details)

"DH" applied for the US Bank Triple Cash Business Card this weekend and got the 7-10 day message. He received a phone call from a local number today and they left a message saying it was US Bank calling about his application.

Does anyone remind me if US Bank calls are tough calls about ones business or easy calls to confirm information?

I'm thinking about transferring 250,000 MRs over to Flying Blue... in hopes of getting 6 J flights to Italy, Thanksgiving 2025. Good idea or bad idea?

Also, for those that missed the AA Barclays 70k offer, it’s back.

Don't forget the 20% bonus through 11/10! We transferred enough for 2 r/t flights on KLM for sometime next year. We don't have exact dates in mind, but are flexible enough to make it work.

How did you get transferred? Just called and was told no offers. Asked to be transferred to retention department and was told it would show in offers. Do you actually have to act like you're canceling?
Yeah, act like you're cancelling. The front line rep doesn't see the same stuff as the account specialist. Once they waive the AF, ask about whether you have any spend offers like the one they gave me. They didn't automatically give me the offer, I asked about it

Some good new Amex offers this morning! There's a lego one--DD 21 wants some big Lego set for Christmas so perfect timing. Also had a Frontgate offer (nothing I'm planning on buying but you never know). And have spend $150 at Amazon get 1,200 MRs up to 3 times on my BBP.
Thank you for sharing this. I was able to find those offers as well. :goodvibes

I've been flying AF to Europe on points for years now, but I don't feel like they are reliable in posting good point-based seats. Sometimes we get a great deal on the way out and then end up with their crazy 350,000 point seat offers for the return flight (in which case I pivot to another airline of course). Just chiming in to say that I'm not sure I'd feel good about transferring too many points over there unless I was ok knowing it might not work out for my upcoming trip.

Still no luck and I closed it. I've used it for 2 $5 transactions (1 for SUB, 1 for AU offer), so can't say I blame them.

Generally always a bad idea to transfer in advance of needing to use them. I think that's especially so if you're looking for holiday travel to Europe. 250K MR gets you 300 AF points meaning 50K per business class ticket?? Unless you have millions of points standing by or you know you'd be able to use the 300K AF points if you end up not being able to get your flight, I wouldn't ever transfer that many points speculatively.

I tend to have very good luck with Flying Blue, as many as 8 seats in the same biz class cabin. Based on my personal experience with Flying Blue, I would feel comfortable speculatively transferring that amount. BUT... I have found that FB doesn't release "saver" availability right at schedule release. It just sorta happens.

You know what they say about finding good travel deals... you can find cheap, you can find to your exact destination and you can find your exact dates, but rarely can you get all three of those at the same time.

If transferring those points will deplete your points and you wouldn't be able to book alternative flights, then I would forgo the transfer bonus and wait until you actually find flights. If you have enough points to have airline flexibility, then I would do it.

I would for sure set up some award alerts.

I got the saver 50k biz cdg to ord via ams next May at sched open but I keep searching for the non stop to Seattle, the best it's gone down to is 187k and is generally well over 300k. Chicago was as far west as I could get which was my goal for lay flat.

Not looking forward to 3 flights to get home but it's what worked best and it's a thurs flight before memorial day. I keep checking and hoping it'll go down under 100k but it hasn't.

Wow! I had the same number of transactions, though. Their reps are really hit or miss, then. The first one I spoke to was rather rude. Oh, well.

I've never had to answer any questions about my "businesses" to US Bank. In all likelihood, it's just a verification call to check the no fraud box.

I too am laying low on Chase for a bit and am in AMEX Pop Up Jail. Been keeping busy with US Bank Cards. Recently go the US Bank Triple Cash Biz Cards for both DH and I. Right now $750 cash back with $6,000 Spend in 180 days. No annual Fee. This is actually me 2nd one of these this year - seems to be easy to get and still keeps you at 2/24.
This seems like a good plan, I might do the same. Would be nice to apply the credit towards the large purchase we are making too (new couch)! Are there any rules for US Bank business cards? I also opened one earlier this year, but looks like it was 8+ months ago.

I'm glad you found something that will work for you. I found it really hard to find something for our return flight in 2023 so ended up on BA (2 flights to get home from Rome) so it wasn't terrible but there doesn't seem to be much predictability with AF especially if you have a certain date in mind.

P1 and P2 just both got the Citi® / AAdvantage BusinessTM World Elite Mastercard®. I would check out all of the AA cards, Citi and Barclays, and see what makes sense for you.
I've only ever had the Venture X so can't really advise on Cap1 cards.

I'd also look at DOC best card bonuses to see if any of the above intrigue you or if any Amex cards would make sense for you.
I somehow forgot to add the Citi AAdvantage Business card that I got in May of this year! Are there rules with the Citi Business cards? I feel like I determined that I might not be able to get another for a while. I have been looking at the Barclays AA card, might consider doing that.

For Capital One, I'm interested in the Savor as a potential keeper card for the 3% back on groceries and dining (when not working on a SUB). I was pre-approved when I used the tool, but also read that you can only hold two cards at a time, so not sure if this will be possible since I already hold Venture X and Venture?

Might end up getting as US Bank card for the large spend.

They don't, they are sensitive to HPs. Which is why people apply for 2 Barclays in one day.
ahhhhh so I should've gone for both on same day ,now I'm ool for 5 months? It was instant approval which kind of surprised me

Barclays card update. Thankful for fedex doing what usps and barclays didn't do. Find my correct house number. No idea how they had the wrong number, especially since the card is attached to my login with my other card. But the mystery is solved and at some point I'll call them to get them to update it. I'd even verified the number with them when I called so I don't get it.

I'm sure it'll be a giant pain of faxing stuff despite my getting mail for my other card last week to my house.

I opened US Bank Triple Cash Biz on March then US Bank Biz Alt Connect in April and then another Triple Cash in October. All either instant approval or approved within a day or so.

Question for anyone that has been to a TS concert: is it worth it to go to the merch pre-sale (2 days before her first show)? I don't want to spend hours in line on the day of the concert. But I know that I'd spend at least 2-3 hours in line at the pre-sale; though they are opening 3 stores at the stadium for 2 days before her first concert.
