Seeing on r/Amex the white gold card is now available. And a chat rep (for what it's worth) said the increased af will happen Oct 1, which I think tracks with the normal timeliness for refreshes they've done.

Nothing officially out yet. Really hope the dunkin thing is wrong or there's a way to get a gc online because there's none in the PNW. Will have to use it when we're in boston/salem in Sept at least. Also need to stop by saks for a gc if we are nearby.
Fortunately or unfortunately, all the rumors were spot on. App is up on AmEx now with the Dunkin and Resy benefits confirmed. Both require enrollment first.

> Effective September 26, 2024, Milk Bar and Shake Shack will no longer be participating partners for the $120 Dining Credit.

And I see Five Guys added to the dining list.
>Participating partners are Grubhub (including Seamless), The Cheesecake Factory, Goldbelly, Wine.com, Five Guys, Milk Bar (through 9/25/2024), and select Shake Shack locations (through 9/25/2024)

AF is $325 for new card holders. Unfortunately the public welcome bonus is the 60k/6k/6mo + $100 as 20% back at restaurants. Hopefully someone can still pull some better incognito offers.
ETA: They have! Reports of 90k & 100k offers. I finally got a 90 + $100 in Chrome Incognito.

The White Gold is different. I think it may be something that looks better in person than in the images. I'm not a big pink/rose color fan but I pick that over the original Gold color, so really anything would be a better option. Very subtle.

Hubby checked the credit cards on the website and pulled up a 15k/1k/6mos upgrade offer they hadn't advertised in his accounts, so we pulled the trigger yesterday to lock in the old AF. I'll ask him to order the White Gold one today. I totally flaked last night and forgot to check for new app offers for myself. Oh well.

Looks like DH's AF renewal next month will be very timely! Thanks for all the details

For Dunkin, reloads in the app come through the same as app orders, so I fully expect that to be credited. We'll find out in a few days.

Southwest moving to assigned seats in April. Haven’t read the details.
There isn't much to read yet. Just confirming that they will go forward with assigned seats and plan to offer premium seating next year.

>Southwest did not give details about when the changes will go into effect, but it said it would be discussed further in September.

>The premium seats, which will offer more legroom, will not be available until 2025 as it will require reconfiguring its planes.

Both articles I clicked on for the announcement were mostly fluff as it seems Southwest only put out a few sentence statement. Seating changes and the 'red eye' flights were confirmed.

ETA: found the investor announcement, have more info on the red eye flights.
>Booking on initial routes is available today through Southwest.com, with the first overnight flights landing on Valentine's Day 2025 in five initial nonstop markets: Las Vegas to Baltimore and Orlando; Los Angeles to Baltimore and Nashville; and Phoenix to Baltimore.

Ok- My AF just showed for my Amex everyday preferred (6% back at grocery) and it's 14.49- anyone think of why this odd number?
Anyone out there gotten a strange AF charged like this? I don't want to pay it unless I know it's for real, I was gonna pc this card down to no AF but for $14.49 I should just keep it I max that grocery category so hard...... BTW how do you figure out when you've hit the yearly cap?

I’m glad this doesn’t happen until April. We have Southest flights in Nov. and I was worried we’d get mess with somehow.

I don’t mind the change. We always pay for EBCI and we are almost always coming/going from MCO it doesn’t help much when we get B. It seems like the whole plane boards during family boarding on those flights.

I wonder if the Chase cards will change the boarding upgrade to a different benefit now, like the ability to select the upcoming "premium" seats
Wondering about that also. DH has the Priority card with the 4 free upgraded boarding. We never buy EBCI as we are either 2 adults or solo fliers, but occasionally have used the boarding upgrade.

definitely Portugal. Barcelona was nice but it didn't feel as comfortable. Dirtier, graffiti, people weren't as friendly. The Catedral Famiglia, Park Guell (Gaudi) and Montserrate were beautiful though
Lisbon was beautiful although hilly! loved hotel, people very friendly, shops were ,more locally owned (artisan type). did day trips to Sintra, Caicais,Fatima, Obidos, Nazare.. I'd spend a week traveling thru Portugal.
Where did you stay in Lisbon? I'm working on a Lisbon/Madeira trip for next year.

NVM! Saw your other post with the hotel name.

Looks like a prorated AF due to an upgrade.

??? SO I had an everyday with $0 AF, upgraded last year with an offer for no AF on first year- why would they prorate anything?

My guess is your free year is up and they're charging the prorated AF until they charge the full AF at the set time for the account (related to when you opened the card originally).

Amex doesn't change the AF date when you upgrade/downgrade. But since you've never had an AF on the account, you won't know what day that is. Based on the amount you were charged, I'd guess in 2 months you'll be charged the full AF.

Any particular recommendations for Barcelona (restaurants, bars, sightseeing, etc)? Sister has a conference there next year - hoping to tag along and take advantage of the free hotel room.

Besides the usual sights, my most memorable were actually outside Barcelona. Besalu, Montserrat, Girona, probably in that order.

If you like seafood, La Paradeta was memorable for me. It's a seafood market/restaurant. We had seafood overload by the end lol.

Before I make a reservation at an Econolodge (I know this is definitely not something talked about on this thread!!!), does anyone know if I can add my husband's name since I won't be with him, or would he need to book it himself?

*If I book through the Chase portal
*If I book through the Choice Hotels website

Has anyone here held more than 4 CIC's at any given time? It's time for DH to have another card (not sure if it will be a CIC or CIP) and then me next month. I'm hoping to squeeze them both in before the support bonus goes down and I'd like to space them out as much as possible to make both spends. I am planning on closing his oldest CIC soon, I'd just like to keep it open for a couple more months first.

On a side not, I got an email from Chase today increasing the available credit on one of my CIC's almost doubling it. Not sure of why and I kinda would have rather they didn't as I'd like to use that credit for another card. I can always decrease it....

You'll want to be at 3 or less Chase business cards for better approval chances. I've seen DP that suggest this may apply to all Chase biz cards you have open, not just Inks. The lower your total Chase CL (both personal and biz) will also improve your odds.
