speaking of swa CP.... what's the rumor mill thinking for future CP etc and points usage once they switch to a more traditional model for seats etc? I'd love to hop in there right now but I have to cool my heels with them for a little while :rolleyes1
I have been wondering the same thing about the CP; changes almost have to be coming. I've often said I don't know how they stay in business because I haven't paid for a flight with them in 10 yrs, lol. However, I realize that in reality the majority of people do not have CPs. They have always been customer friendly in their business model, so hopefully they will still offer good value if they do make changes.

Ugghhh. I know this is dumb to complain about with all the other things going on, but SW is canceling the ATL connection to MCO from our home airport (GSP) after April. I was ok not having direct flights since ATL is a quick connection, plus there are a few lounges we can use for layovers, but now they're sending us the complete wrong direction to BNA or BWI.

Speaking of Hyatt. I'm chasing Globalist again this year. I got lucky and was targeted for double elite night promos that fell during the Paris and London part of our trip this past summer. Those were immediately followed by the Florida hotel double elite night promos and I took advantage of that. If I'm that close then I figured I'd make the effort.

I do like choosing the milestone awards along the way. I chose FIND experience credits for some since I have a trip to Scotland next summer. I figured I could use them for a day tour/experience here or there while we are in Edinburgh before we meet up with our guide. I used one for a tour at the Louvre a few months ago and enjoyed the tour with the guide we had. Sadly, I did not find (no pun intended) anything I liked for Edinburgh.

So, I looked at what was available in South Florida and found nothing I would care to do. Then I decided to take a peek at NYC since we have weekend trips planned there in January and in the summer. I found tickets to shows I wanted to see and used the FIND credits for those. The downside is you don't know exactly which seats you will get as they are listed by section and rows. But checking on the show's website for each show and the seats open, gives you an idea of what is available. I did see that we can also purchase show tix with Hyatt points. It's about a 1.4 cpp value. Not that I would do that but the option is nice.

Is there a reason for both of us to get the
Hey everyone, I was approved for the Southwest personal card. I was curious how I should complete the application for my wife. She's a stay-at-home mom currently. How should I list her income for the credit card application? I obviously don't think I should list her as unemployed and $0.

Use the same household income. Put other and homemaker or however you can do it. Do not put unemployed, she us just in the household.

Even if you were both employed, if you both have access to the household income and not just yours you'd use that.

Both would be big blows to our travel patterns. Hopefully not 🤞
100%,
Hyatt going to dynamic pricing would be a huge blow.
100% I also think choosing the milestones is great I got canceled on coming back to MCO so I stayed in the most overpriced hotel ever at JFK for hyatt but I hit my 60 nights.
Agreed, but I think we all know its coming at some point.
I think they need a bigger footprint they are getting there though I think they have to keep it this way for NOW to be competitive.

I saw one for Peloton I wanted to do it but it was the week before my trip to Munich that I just come back from. For those who have tried like me I never get into a live class I try so hard.

We can compare notes. We stayed at the most expensive Hilton Garden Inn ever - it's attached to T2 at LHR when our flight home was canceled. It's ridiculous what some of these low end airport hotels can charge.

Congrats on the 60 nights. 7 more nights needed here before we hit it.

I can relate. Couple of years ago we went from 2 choices per day at really good times down to 1 or maybe 2 at bad times. And going the wrong way is always frustrating.

I wanted to do a little review of my trip on EVA Air coming back from Singapore.

Flight was SIN-->Taipei-->Toronto and I paid 40k points using one of dh's priority rewards (booked on AC website).

The flight on EVA was amazing. I had read glowing reviews beforehand and I can say that the experience lived up to the hype. The FAs were amazing -- I asked if they had any extra Valhrona chocolates and they delivered me a bag full! The Jason Wu pajamas were so comfy I'm wearing the bottoms at home (and I saw at least 2 people wear them off the plane). The food was delicious (I did order ahead and had sea bass with scalloped potatoes for dinner -- YUM -- and congee with seafood for the meal before landing -- also YUM). The seat was extremely comfortable and the pillow was perfection. But here is the hard-to-believe thing: I slept 7 hours! That is the longest that I've ever slept on a plane by a wide margin. I think the plush duvet may have helped, ditto for the sinus meds I took after dinner. It's no wonder that it's so hard to snag a seat on EVA Air with points -- they release 2 biz seats for each flight and they are snapped within minutes.

The wrong way stuff is so frustrating. I found a place in Montreal I would love to visit. We're in Chicago. Some of the flights are ORD-DFW-YUL. No I do not need to go to Texas to get to Canada.

I was reading about the Chase Aeroplan card and its PYB feature. Sounds intriguing, but not sure if it's worth it just for the PYB option. Does anyone have that card and use it mainly with PYB? Are there limits the travel PYB? I tried reading through the terms and didn't see anything, but I saw a comment about it being limited to 50,000 points, so wasn't sure.

Would love to hear thoughts if anyone has this card!

I'd google it and look for info on reddit. It's been discussed on r/churning. Potential issues for people that transferred UR there to use for pyb. I don't recall anyone here really talking about it or getting a card.

Following replies to your question since we are looking at a big expense as well. Helene took out our HVAC system (2 ft of water in our basement and no electricity for a week). We are very lucky that there was no damage to the house and that we're ok, but insurance is of course giving us the run around >:(. Temps are good right now in upstate SC but we definitely want it fixed come November when it gets cooler.
Another positive to replacing HVAC is that you can claim it on your Federal income taxes. Nice little chunk of change it turns out being.

It’s been a long time since I’ve had the CSP(usually have the CSR but downgraded to a freedom recently). I know there is a $50 hotel credit. Is that like the Amex Plat where it’s a certain bunch of hotels. I’m thinking about a stay at Sapphire Falls Universal. Does anyone know if the credit would work for that? I’m thinking about having Dh get the CSP but not sure if it’s worth the annual fee since we don’t have much travel to book coming up other than Sapphire Falls.
