Tell me about the Delta Skymiles Blue American Express Card. The current SUB is 10,000 skymiles for $1K spend. Does this ever have elevated offers?
Will there be a better SUB in flight or at the airport? I am flying Delta soon so I can apply then if offers are decent.

Puts you closer to 5/24. But yeah, one purchase! I think it's good if you want Alaska or Hawaiian miles. Note that there are two out there, one that requires a MSR and the 1-purchase one. This link takes you to the latter: https://www.getmyhawaiiancard.com
Put in any number for the promo code

what next?
(un) fortunately I blew thru the msr for p2's latest Ink. My last Ink was Aug so too soon.

we're both 3/24 on chase as well

only other biz card is amex bbp.

suggestions?

have amex surpass, platinum.
diamond at Hilton

have csr, p2 just down graded to og freedom. neither eligible for sub on csp,csr

don't fly sw anymore.

live between ewr/phl and ttn.

no vacations planned for next year yet! probably fl a few times for long weekends. maybe a virgin voyages cruise

thoughts?
What about the Citi AAdvantage Business World Elite CC or AMEX Business Gold? Are there any good sub's on Delta business cards to look into?

I am looking for some help/advice from those who have booked award flights through Aer Lingus previously. I can see award flights on BA's website for Aer Lingus flights from JFK-DUB-ATH and I can see the same cash flights on Aer Lingus' website. I created an Aer Lingus account and I am trying to see if there are any other award flights on Aer Lingus that can be booked on their website that are not available through their partners. I am not able to figure out how to see any award flights on their website, even the ones I can see on BA's website. When I go to the AerClub page and try to enter information for their reward flights I can only enter information for flights from JFK to DUB not Athens. Is their website just difficult to use or am I that dumb? Is there an easy way to see award flights with Aer Lingus? Thanks for any advice.

I tried and can only see JFK-DUB, DUB-ATH separately. I'm guessing there's some wonkiness on their award website with the connection. If you want to book through Aer Lingus, you can try calling and see if they can book it as one ticket for you. They charge by segment, so the cost should be the same as booking separately, maybe with a small variation in the taxes.

So Hilton stays..... I have 3 $50 gc that I wouldn't mind using up- however, I also have enough points left for a night too..... wwyd? Should I book on 'cash' and try to use those gc to pay? Or what do I do if the hotel can't use them at checkout? Then I'm stuck paying actual cash, but if use my points,I'm basically wasting the gc..... any thoughts? All the stories here of not being able to use them has me concerned

Nov 1 is wrong. If it was ever correct, it was way in the past.

The system will calculate based on Month and Year, so 1st day of the 24th month should work when it processes the app - you'd be 3/24 in its calculations. If you have to recon or otherwise have a human look, DPs are that they calculate to the day as listed in the CR.

IIRC Experian doesn't list the day on the reports, just month and year. So speculation for a while was for people who only have EX pulled that they were x/24 on the 1st of the month. But positive DPs for others that didn't have EX pulled were found. So perhaps that is part of why they calculate that way rather than creating separate rules for each CR being read.

I'm a bit cautious so for me I'd apply 10/2 at the earliest anyway, but since it's so close, if I didn't have a deadline expiring, I'd just wait for 10/5. If one can't wait, worth the risk before and then if not system approved, recon on the 5th. Very slim chance a rep will cite Nov 1 as the drop off, but if so, HUCA.
I just applied for a CIU and got instant approval! Thanks for the advice! Only my second Ink, so hopefully I can get a few more before the Ink train derails.

What's the cash rate vs points? Which hotel? Maybe there are DPs on if GCs worked.

Thanks for trying. I guess I will try calling them and see if I get any different results.

So their rewards search and booking on Aer Lingus is relatively new, so I don't know if it's intentional or a growing pain but I'm not able to find connecting flights. Most times it won't show the city as an available option, like you found, other times it'll just say no flights found after I search.

So far I found the same as @wanderlust7 , having to piece together the segments. Given the segment pricing Aer Lingus uses that might explain a bit the wonkiness of how rewards search works right now.

Is the transfer from Hawaiian to Alaska still open/working? I finally have a need for Alaska miles but I don’t want to strand them in Hawaiian.

@*WDW*Groupie* Not sure when you are headed to HI, but the Hilton Hawaiian Village has been on strike for the past few weeks and I guess the protesting goes all around the perimeter of the building. Not sure how that's affecting the surrounding properties. I'm assuming you aren't staying in the next month or so, so probably won't affect you.

Delta Gold is a much better proposition if you qualify and can make the $3k spend. Can't remember seeing offers for the Delta Blue in flight but would not want to use a 5/24 spot on it. YMMV of course.

It's definitely still a risk. I just booked a Hampton Inn in Tampa, FL with a cash rate hoping to use up a bunch of gift cards but the front desk wouldn't even try to use them. It's an annoyance as the literature that comes with the cards says they can be used at all Hilton properties. I hope Hilton sees the uptick in the gift card sales and trains their front desks.

I believe the only real use for the Skymiles Blue card is as a placeholder to play the upgrade/downgrade game. Get the Gold for that sub and actual usable benefits, after a year, downgrade to the Blue and then see how long it takes AMEX to give you an upgrade offer, take it, hold that card for a year, then downgrade again.

Thank you both. I will look into the Gold.

Thank you! Ds and I are going at the end of next September. I'm giving serious consideration to the LXR -- it fits what I need perfectly.

An update on the Umana LXR: I spoke with the diamond desk yesterday and they have opened a case. The agent that I spoke with was horrified at how the hotel handled the situation and mentioned either points back or BMG certificates (I have no idea what these are or how they work so I'm going to have to do a bit of research). She said she should have an update in ~48 hours. Has anyone here ever received a HH BMG certificate? Any tips?
