?? about Chase Personal vs Business cards.

This never occurred to me before as I always pay the bill on the due date but when I logged in this morning my personal card's statement had closed and it was showing the new balance due for the next month.

The business card that has the same due date was showing $0 due for last month and the statement had not posted.

I went and dug through mine and P2's accounts and seems like the business cards have to be paid a week before the statement close date but for the majority of the personal cards they only have to be paid 4 days before the statement ends. We have a few exceptions on the personal cards for those that close on the 1-3rd of the month but generally it is 4 days on the personal cards.

Curious if this is the normal behavior for others.
Yes it has always been that way, less of a grace period for the biz cards.

What are everyone's thoughts on flying premium economy Dulles to London but standard economy home? I honestly am okay with regular economy but the flight to London is overnight so it seems well worth it to upgrade. On the way home the flight leaves at 5 PM London time (so maybe I'd get a few hours sleep before we land at Dulles). Do you think once we fly Premium there we'll dread flying regular home? I'm about two weeks out from being able to book (Virgin Atlantic).

Done this many times. Of course, it is always nicer in Premium but I don't dread the daytime trips in economy (and I'm tall). Its always more pleasant when the person in front doesn't recline their seat the whole trip though.

I sent an SM to chase Monday afternoon to lower the cl on an ink and know it says 1 to 2 days but thought it would be done by now. Getting impatient but really don't want to call to do it. But I also want to apply for a new ink since I have some spend coming up and need a new card.

I messaged Monday to move credit from one card to another on P2 new CIP. I am ready to meet the spend immediately but the CL is too low. No answer yet.

Another one here. Sent SM on Monday am and still waiting for response. Usually hear back within 24 hours.

If price was exactly the same (including +$20 fee through Amex), would you guys use a CSP or Amex for primary car rental insurance? It's for an Intermediate SUV. New terms for CSP kinda make me nervous, if they wouldn't cover entire car. Amex Premium Insurance states $75,000 coverage.

This is what we're doing in just a few days, except leaving from BOS. Premium on AA to London (overnight) and economy on Aer Lingus back (late afternoon). I'll report back 😁

Well your dp and the others, guess I'll call later. I just don't like calling about "biz" cards if I don't need to. But like others I also expected it to be done by now/yesterday.

They seem to be slower than usual..I sent a SM Sunday…just heard back today

The new CSP terms are more generous and much clearer than the old terms. But if it's the same including the premium, I'd go with the AMEX. I also know that my personal insurance would pick up anything over the CSP if I somehow get a vehicle with that high of an MSRP.

I would want to be as relaxed and rested going overseas. This would allow you to start enjoying your destination easier imo.

On the way back I wouldn't be as worried about it as you would have plenty of time to get adjusted.

If you don't have the points for both I think what you have is a solid plan.
I do have the points for both but I'm very frugal (and wanting to re-book a trip to Japan with DS after canceling a trip this year)! Thank you for confirming this makes some sense!

DP Finally got my denial letter from Chase (CIP) and was hit with a triple threat:
  • You have too many active accounts or too much available credit
  • Low usage of Chase credit line(s)
  • New Chase business card recently opened

For reference I have 3 CIU, 1 CIC, and 1 CIP. My most recent card was the third CIU in January so I think that last bullet point is just thrown in there for fun. I just lowered limits on 2 of the cards, but I think I'll just go ahead and cancel my CIP. Bummer since we have car insurance due this month and I was going to prepay for the kids' stupidly expensive field trips.

We aren't tall so we can definitely manage in economy. Especially since this trip is with my easy to please child.
