Thats awesome! I can't get an answer for my issue for a flight on 12/16. My son broke his leg so we got an extra seat as instructed by SW. They told us to call after the flight and it would be reimbursed. Well all the rest of the SW meltdown happened so I couldn't get thru. Now they tell me I need to go thru the link online, but that is only for the fiasco, not issues like this. So I emailed, they want reciepts for anything I need reimbursed for. I just need the seat refunded. Nothing else. Why is that so hard? I gave them the confirmation number, thats all I have.
Sorry to hear you are dealing with that. Make sure you are using the "regular" SW email complaint link and not the "Christmas fiasco" specific link. They have separate ones.
:offtopic:Totally off topic but I know many of you have HS students or recent HS grads. No idea how time went so fast, but DS will be in high school next year, so the time is upon us to register for next years classes. The school sends home a page of his recommendations for classes, his are all honors or AP, plus Spanish 2. He may struggle a bit with honors English as he has been in core English thus far (advanced English track was decided when the kids were in 3rd grade.) The class he (and I) are unsure about is AP human geo. I have heard it is pretty hard, lots of reading and homework. My niece said it's no big deal, though she had it remotely (in 2020 due to COVID) and she takes all AP/honors classes so may be biased. DS also wants to play soccer (HS team in fall, club in winter & spring)
Is AP Human Geo a tough enough class that DS may struggle with all honors classes and a sport or is it "reasonable?" (His other option is "regular" human geo)
We had always heard it was really hard. My nephew is a freshman and taking AP Human Geography this year. He is basically an average student (maybe a little above but not gifted like his younger bro who took it). He is also playing basketball on the freshman, JV, and V teams this year, so very busy with extra curriculars. He has no trouble keeping up with the work in fact he has an A.

We are in Tampa tonight staying at a Sheraton. When we checked in she said she saw I was an elite member (whatever that means) and says “I am going to give you club access”. So free drinks for us tonight 😜 hoping to get enough snacks in the am to make a breakfast.

So funny you asked this today. We received the list of electives today for my daughter’s freshman year in the Fall, and when I suggested she take Human Geography her reaction was “eeww!” She’s my handful, a great kid, but a handful nonetheless. I have no experience to offer, other than, if your kid is willing to take Human Geography, you’re a step ahead of me 😂

Well technically he doesn't have much choice, he has to take Human Geo or AP Human Geo. Social Studies is required and those are the only choices for freshman. Electives are languages, art, music and tech. 2EEBAD0D-E9F4-4330-BA14-2FD8142F4735.jpeg

Interesting to see what other schools offer for social studies. His core classes are exactly like my kids’, but my kids’ social studies is World History and Geography. Human Geography is an elective. I personally think it would be quite fascinating. Again not helpful for you, but I enjoy seeing what other schools are offering.

Thanks. That sounds good. So should we log into DD's Chase credit card account first and then open the link? Or how did they access your Chase account info?
Clicked the link that said open both accounts (3rd one down). it asked after that if he was already a Chase customer, once clicked yes it asked him to log in then.

Can you share what if any confirmation you got about the $900 offer being applied to your accounts? During the process of opening the accounts, I got a message that said something like "We opened your accounts but we are having trouble applying the offer. We will send you an email when we have applied the offer." So far the only email I've gotten says that the accounts are open, but no mention of the bonus.

I am pretty certain that I meet all of the criteria for the bonus (no Chase checking or savings accounts within the past several years). I plan on sending a secure message tomorrow but I'm curious if anyone has had this same thing happen.

Thanks to all who gave great suggestions and advice for business class air tix. I was able to book what I needed and am looking forward to our trip this September!

Now that that is over with…. I need to get back to accumulating points and miles for future travel! What are the best options for business air redemption? No particular country in mind atm, but probably looking to do South America or Europe.

I have CSP, citi costco visa, and Delta amex atm. DH has an Alaska visa. No applications in the past 2 years for either of us. Any recommendations to maximize incentives with minimal/no AF?

Thanks!

We would want 5-6 nights so might have to do a split stay with Disneyland to save money. Is miracosta worth it if you don’t get a view of fantasmic? I’m not sure how late ds will be staying up at that age

That would depend on how much you value the extra 15 minutes. If I was only doing 1 day at TDS and that day was on a weekend or busy day of year then I would want those extra 15 minutes. Otherwise, I only care about the view for Fantasmic. Next time we go, we will probably do 4 nights again and I would do 2 nights at Miracosta and the other 2 at either Disneyland or Hilton. If your DS is sleeping then you and DH would still have leeway to watch the show from the window.

We’re planning two days at TDS and hoping to go during the week in May. So it shouldn’t be crazy busy. I think once it gets closer we’ll see how things are. I’m mainly concerned about fantasy springs opening. If it does opens before we get there I think we’ll want that 15 minutes. So we may do a split stay between the miracosta and the Hilton

Don't forget that Disney Sea Fantasy Springs expansion is going to open "spring" 2024.

Ugh here’s a tip in case it helps someone else. We are flying to Vegas tomorrow on United. A few days ago I upgraded to Economy Plus for $109 pp. When I checked in today, I notice the same seats are now $60. Obviously if it looks like the flight is going to be full it’s not a gamble you want to take if you do want those seats, but for ours there were still plenty of seats available. I’m so annoyed at myself! That’s almost another $100 I could have spent in Vegas! Note to self, wait until check-in to upgrade!

Not really. Went through the email with the offer, we got the email the accounts were open. When we opened them the screen went funky, said they couldn't complete something, but then got the email the accounts were open, so who knows? I thought there was a message when we set up the savings account transfer, about on our way to earning the bonus, but nothing we saved so maybe it was a popup?

Now we're hitting a snag with the direct deposit. Company wants a voided check to switch deposit to the Chase account, which of course we don't have. Perhaps if we had opened the account in a branch they could have given us some starter checks. Not sure I want to order them online, says they are experiencing delays. I don't see anything on DOC's list that I have that would work.

Thats too bad - but my tip would be that once you have committed to a purchase that you can't change or refund, resist the urge to keep checking to see what happens to prices. It will help your sanity. :crazy2:

It never even occurred to me to look, after I checked in it gave me the option to switch seats, that's when I noticed it. >:(

Thanks for the reply. I sent Chase a secured message so hopefully that will be sorted soon.

That's frustrating about the voided check--I write maybe 10 checks a year and I probably don't even need to write those.

Curious to hear what Chase says. The email did say coupon for bonus applied when you click the link.

Yeah, the big insurance companies (annuity) and even DH's former employer (pension) are pretty old school. Since the checking bonus and combined bonus is worth $700, I ordered some checks through Costco.
