Hi all! Just wanted to check two things before applying…
1) Is the Citi Premier the only card I can use to buy Disneyland park tickets with points? (As long as I buy them through a travel agency, I’m told this will work for tickets.)
2) is there no referral bonus given to people for the Citi Premier? I checked the /r group but didn’t see anyone with a link.
3) Would anyone else have a suggestion as to what card to get? Ultimate goal is to buy DL tickets with the points. We have a large purchase coming up and my plan was to have DH open one using a dischurner link then refer me.
Thank you!

1. I don’t think there is any way to make your thank you points worth more by buying tickets with them vs cashing points out to your bank account at 1cpp.
2. no support links for that card
3. Idk if I’d hit that Premier right now, it was just at 80k points a couple months ago. I’d rather a CIU or CIC for UR bonus if you aren’t constrained by 5/24

Is this through the Chase travel portal or transferring UR to Hyatt? If it's directly with Hyatt, you have to do award bookings one at a time. You can have both rooms in your name. But maybe you want it in her name so she gets the stay credit for Brand Explorer. Or if you're Globalist and want to make sure she gets the benefits then you should do Guest of Honor.

I’ll be transferring my URs to Hyatt. Thanks so much for the reply!

I never got around to using my Chase Disney offers. Today is the last day. Will they still credit if I use them today?

Sometimes. The prime source for that info is Doctor of Credit. Search your banks name and it’s possible they will pop up as having had an offer and DoC’s rundown will include if they do a hard or soft hit on your credit report using info sourced from comments.

I have never had the card. And I don’t have a particular plan for the points, but I need a Disneyland hotel this summer and there seem to be plenty of Marriott choices nearby.

But the spend would be tight. Need to do my taxes and see how awful that’s going to be.

I need a little bit of hand holding re: booking Hyatt with URs. I want to book two rooms, one in my daughter’s name and one in mine. I didn’t see any way to do that in one fell swoop. Do I just book one room and then right afterwards go back in and book the other? Should I reserve them both in my name, or is that not allowed?

I'm not sure if your daughter is a minor or if you will be checking in at different times, but in general the easiest way to put the reservation in another person's name using your Hyatt points is to call World of Hyatt's reservation line: 1-800-544-9288. Specify the hotel, the dates and give them your World of Hyatt number and they will create the bookings and deduct the points from your account. Alternatively, you can book two rooms online using points and for the 2nd room add your daughter's name to the reservation at the very end. Then, I usually like to call the hotel the day before and let them know if she will be checking in first for that room where her name is added. You can also forward her the booking confirmation that she can reference upon check in.

I have 2 reservations under my account, one for us and one for my parents-we are traveling together, but your question got me wondering if I did it wrong so I reached out to Hyatt concierge and she said it is perfectly fine to have multiple reservations on my account and up to 3 rooms would receive my Globalist benefits but I would only earn points/night credit for my room. You can only book one room at a time with points, so you’ll just need to make separate reservations.
i asume you are transferring the URs to your Hyatt account correct?

I wouldn’t bother with it, I’d probably wait for elevated Bonvoyed offers and snag the card new first.

Marriott does have many properties in the DLR area but fwiw Hyatt does as well and unless you’re at a fancy Marriott the Hyatts are nicer. I just threw a random weekday in May into Hyatt search and they’re running 15k points Hyatt House (walkable to DLR), 12k Place (I think people walk to Toy Story lot across the street and take the Disney bus to DLR). But honestly I’d be tempted to book with cash- the member rates that day are $162/$135.

Yeah just fomo lol.

I was looking at booking the hojo with ur as my kids would like the water playground and we’re going in mid august so likely quite warm.

But it’s also my 40th birthday so I’m considering a Disneyland hotel splurge.

I’ve only been to Disneyland once and it was years ago, so it’s a whole new thing to figure out for me.

Which car rental companies let you use your status benefits when booked via 3rd party.. is it National?

LOL, the family and I were just talking about that hojo this week. Our trip to Disneyland was the trip that solidified my travel style. There are lots of people who are just looking for a clean place to lay their heads. I realized a higher end hotel is very important to me, and I guess I hadn't quite pinpointed that up until this stay. We stayed at the hojo on the front end because I'd read all the reviews about how great the playground was and how walkable it was. We stayed at the Disneyland hotel on the back end.

And it wasn't until Disneyland hotel that I actually felt on vacation. Because it felt resort-esque. I felt in a bubble, to some extent.

So, for your 40th, I would say to splurge!!!

Amex is taking their sweet time getting my Hilton Honors card to me. Good thing it's only $1k spend.

Bonvoy FNC DP. I still have two 50,000 pts FNCs from my 2020 SUB that were Covid extended through June 30, 2022. I was hoping to get a 60 day extension so I could use them in Europe during my August trip. I was on hold for 30 minutes only to be told there was absolutely no chance of getting them extended again because they had already been extended once.

I remember someone here reporting a couple of months ago that they were told no, but to call back closer to the June 30 expiration date. Sounds like they have decided to give us a hard no on these requests.

I was going to need my original FNCs extended in Jan. When I called they told me to call back closer to the exp date and that I had to still have the card. Then they got extended. I was kinda hoping I could get an extension since I've technically not asked prior, they gave one system wide! Esp considering some of these have been extended several times. I earned my FNC in Jan 2021. When did you get yours?

I just saw on Facebook and confirmed on easywdw that Josh from easywdw passed away. I remember seeing several mentions of him on this thread so I wanted to share. His website really helped me plan our WDW trips over the years, and I loved reading his festival food reviews. He will definitely be missed. 😔
Thank you for sharing. I hadn't heard the news.

Thank you!
Any Citi card that earns TYP can be used to purchase DLR tix directly thru Citi (actually Cx Travel does it for Citi) but as they are 1 cent per point now, you could get the same value as using Chase UR and cashback. I'm not sure what you mean by using the points by purchasing thru travel agent, TYP are worth the same as cashback or thru Citi travel portal.

I found the Marriott properties hard to book, especially the Fairfield Anaheim. We stayed at Camelot Inn our first stay. Not luxurious by any means but it was fine. No fancy pool. Honestly after being in the parks all day, the shorter the walk to the hotel, the better. Visiting this summer and booked the Best Western thru Chase portal with UR. Even shorter walk from parks. If you won't spend much time at the hotel, go for close proximity. If you'll use the pool daily and spend time in the hotel, go for amenities.

If you buy through UCT you can also use Cap One Venture points to buy park tickets.

Booking with Costco, you can put in your Avis number (appears to be the only one that Costco does that with).
I have done 2 with Hertz in February, both booked with URs. I was able to add my Hertz number in Chase, but the rentals do not show up in my Hertz account. Hertz told me you cannot do that with a third party. However, both times when we picked up the car (one was even reserved in my husands name), they gave me my benefits without even asking. We drove a BMW around Arizona :-)

Well Bonvoy DP.....

I just booked the Courtyard Carolina Beach for the dates 6/28 to 7/2. My FNC expire on 6/30 and it let me apply to my last night (which is 7/1). I have a trip planned to NC, but I normally like to stay around Emerald Isle and Atlantic Beach. I have a trip planned with the kids in August and we'll stay there for sure. I figure this is a back up if I can't figure out anything else to do with the FNC before then. I already have the other hotel I normally stay at (Holiday Inn Express) on hold. So I'm covered if I back out.

This now has me looking at changing my flight though, LOL. It's 2.5 hours from PGV to Carolina Beach. ILM is right there, and then there is MYR (on Spirit, aka free, LOL) which is 2 hours away. The rental car out of ILM is $30 more, but an SUV which I prefer. The flight is 23k miles more. MYR would be free, but the rental cars are $600, even off site. I guess I have time to figure it all out, since everything can be cancelled.

Now I can overthink trying to find somewhere else to use these free nights before then!
