Spending 8 hours watching the dot inch forward on the computer to get tickets is ridiculous! Got tickets in the end, but this has been a frustrating day. Hope others are able to get tickets as well. On the bright side, I am getting more credit card points for my effort!
9am to 4pm. Exhausted.
I got 3 for Nashville and 6 for Arlington.
Got hotels on points booked for both locations.
Still need to book dd's flight to Nashville tomorrow.

Need to see how close I am on my CIU msr now lol

Ticketmaster definitely failed to plan this one, or maybe that was their plan all along. These releases never should have been staggered by the hour.

Looking for some information about using the AmEx Plat wireless credit to buy Verizon gift cards. Am I correct that I only need to activate the benefit on the AmEx website (but not specify a carrier like with the airline credit)? And then I just go to a Verizon store and buy a gift card, and then use that gift card to pay the cellphone bill?

Anything else that I should think about?

(Also I just have a lot of bad words to say about the Taylor Swift ticket situation so I am not saying anything--hopefully tomorrow will be better.)

Anyone know what the site is to set a hotel alert? I completely blanked on booking Baker’s Cay for our pre-cruise stay in Dec and now there are only Premium rooms. I am hoping to catch a room open. Grrrr….

DH applied for a CIC on 11/9 and got an instant approval. I didn't send a DM to expedite because I'm not in a huge hurry to get the card (just need by the end of the month).

Yesterday they called his phone and left a message from Chase Fraud division. I was expecting that we should receive the card by this weekend or early next week based on past approvals.

Do you think he's going to have to call? Or should I just wait and hope the card shows up on its own?

You don't need to activate the benefit. At least I don't remember doing that.

If you plan on paying your entire bill with the Amex Plat, you just need to go into the store and use the kiosk no need to buy gift cards.
I usually buy a $25 gift card (you must be logged into your Verizon account) when it arrives I use it online.
We always have an MSR so I only buy a $25 GC then put the rest of the bill on the new card (by buying Verizon gift cards). Our bill is $180 so I'll buy $175 in GCs then let the other $5 get paid from our checking account.
Next month I plan to buy $25 GC with Plat Credit, then $150 in GCs with DD's gold card since she has a wireless offer.

I was approved for CIU 11/7 and I can see the card is arriving today.

Thanks - I think we'll just wait a few days and see if it comes in the mail. It's still showing in his account, so I assume it's coming. It's just odd that the fraud department would call.

Thank you for posting about this credit. I sort of wrote it off because I didn't want to mess with the cell phone protection that the personal plat provides, which requires that you pay the bill in full each month with the personal plat. But, I pay my SIL's mobile phone bill and it's only $14, so the $10 biz plat credit will be perfect.

FYI, it looks like you do have to enroll in the benefit.

@becauseimnew You're talking about the $10 monthly Amex biz plat benefit, correct? Just want to make sure I'm not missing out on another wireless credit.

So DS applied for CIU yesterday. Said - We cannot approve you at this time. We will send a letter in 7-10 days - assuming this is a denial?

In other news. DD finally got TS Tickets at 5:30 last night. Then she asked if I had any hotel points so they can stay after the concert. OMG - the hotels right next to the Venue (US Bank Stadium in MSP) were going for $700-$1000 a night. Was able to get her a Marriott about 6 blocks away for 30,000 points. So, happy I got that. I'm sure all the hotels will be sold out here soon for those nights.

The stress continues.
Any tips for getting Taylor Swift tickets today?
So far, I’ve followed the link Capital One sent and can click through to the dates of shows and select the one I want- then - it goes to a “join the queue” page - which is for verified fans so I can’t get in yet. Assuming things will change as it gets closer to 2pm.

For anyone got tickets yesterday at what point did you put in your presale code?
And what time could you do that?

Thanks for any tips/tricks/advice you can throw my way.

I have my credit card number stored in notepad to paste it in quickly.

Has anyone used Melio to pay contractors or any other biz expense? I was not familiar with it until I saw it mentioned in the link @FreeDiningFanatic posted about the Spark Elite Tavel card. If I could use Melio to pay our office rent, I could hit some high spends. My Venture x holds a lot of the same benefits as the Spark Elite travel so I’ll pass on that card (though I LOVE my Venture x) but with Melio, I could hit a high spend on another biz card.

Don’t hesitate to select the seats, we couldn’t get tickets because every ticket I selected was already sold. I kept looking for the right tickets.

Have not used Melio, but looks similar to Plastiq, which I use often. Plastiq cc fee is 2.85%, Melio is 2.9%. According to the Plastiq chart, you can do commercial rent with Visa and MC (but not Amex). Link

FYI the AmEx Biz Plat also has cellphone protection. I thought it was the same plan as the personal but here's the benefit pages to compare:
https://www.americanexpress.com/us/...-benefits/policies/cell-phone-protection.html

I used it over the summer after I damaged my screen. $50 deductible and it was fairly painless. Win win(-ish, not sure a broken phone can be considering winning) with the monthly credit.

Can someone help me with the CSP $50 hotel credit? I just booked our late night arrival at Hyatt MCO through Chase Travel. I redeemed 26k in UR points since they are worth 25% more and charged $50.11 on my CSP. Will this payment method work to receive the $50 hotel credit or should I have charged the whole amount and not redeemed any UR's? I have been seeing mixed answers when researching this and I figured someone on the Dis would know for sure. If it will not work, then it is just cheaper to book directly through Hyatt.
Replying to my previous post . . .

The $50 hotel credit posted to my CSP account 10 days after I made the reservation, so you can in fact book with points & cash to receive the credit.
