i haven't had a bad experience (only in us) it's half the cost my insurance said they would cover in USA. I would call to inquire I think its only a matter of time before chase has an agreement that its included with the CSR. I did have one guy that kept texting me once about how his baby was every day was a little weird other then that great.
ok, so my trip is US only too- so CSP/CSR coverage doesn't apply here? I have an offer on AMex,so I could use that, and my own insurance covers the rest? (been reading their website, still not sure how this works) this would cost about a 3rd of the rental prices...

First time booking Hyatt on points. If I have to cancel, will the points go back to my Hyatt account? I’ll be moving the points from my URs. Staying a Friday night at MCO. This is a last minute trip but the SWA points were good (17,000 total for a RT and I have a CP for DH). We have 3 unused days on a military ticket we partially used when we were there in February. We also have a free place to stay at Bonnet Creek near WDW with my sister. Staying through Monday night and renting a car for 3 days.

Yesterday my Disney friend and I went to Office Depot to purchase Disney cards at 10% off with my Chase card offers. Just us in the store and 2 cashiers plus a manager. Friend shopped for kiddie stuff for their trip while I bought the gift cards. I was doing 6 transactions. Cashier was very nice and asked me if I wanted to join the rewards program for 2% back. I did so.

After my 3rd transaction, the next one wouldn't go through without manager over ride. That's when I made the mistake of running one card twice. They had no problem with over riding the cash register, and at the end, both cashier and manager decided that it didn't like giving me 'all those rewards'. I spent $770, then my friend said, 'put my purchase on her number also' store items for about $50. Had to over ride again.

The employees were just fine with giving me all the transactions. Manager said that it usually asks at 10 gift cards, not after 3. So, the cashier will call him when someone wants 10 cards.

All's well that ends well. In total I get $66 cash back on the Chase offers and a total of almost $30 in points and Office Depot rewards.

In other news my Amex Best Buy offers for $25 off $250 credited. Shopped Nov 1, credit Nov 2. That was fast.

I have 2 more ShopDisney offers to do. After that hopefully more will come in.

I did get a cell phone bill offer in a wave of offers that appeared after I cleared 100 offers. It ends Dec 31st, for 10% up to $30. My November bill is already paid and I'll only owe $25 to $35 in December - unless somebody buys a phone. So I'll get a $2.50 to $3.50 credit. :-) . Actually I have 2 offers, one on DD's au card as well as my card.
My OD has a limit of one gc/person/day. (But they’re happy to split the transaction between 2 gc, figure that one out lol.)

As long as the terms on the Hyatt website says it's refundable! Sometimes it says 24 hour cancel or 48 hour cancel. I've also seen nonrefundable.
Have a nice trip! Fun to do last minute!

Double check the cancellation policy when you go to book but yes, the Hyatt points will be returned if it’s refundable. In my experience it’s been almost instant.

That’s cool the military tickets let you use unused days!

Yes. The military tickets are good for the amount of days you purchased. I got five day PH’s. The tickets expire December 15 so if I didn’t use them I would lose them. Actually I was going to let them go because we were so discouraged in February with the new changes and having to have reservations at a park and not being able to get into the other park until after 2 PM. I’m trying to get excited about this trip but I’m actually more excited about going back to Disneyland Paris! Anyway, the Hyatt reservation did say 48 hour cancellation. So I’m going to go ahead and transfer points and book. Thanks for your help!

Seeing some discussion on the budget board today regarding a really sketchy gc website reminded me the importance of chargeback rights and that if it’s too good to be true it isn’t.

Chargebacks: I know our vets know this but newbies might not- If you don’t get your merch file that dispute! You only have a couple months depending on the issuer so don’t let the merchant run out that window. After the window closes you have no power with the merchant outside the court system.

If it’s too good to be true… a saying as old as time but boy howdy it’s still true today and I’m glad the world drilled it into my head.

No car coverage at all for the CSR. I have a nice car insurance plan I'd check. They sent me a PDF to document it (my insurance) and yes most of the time it's half or a third of the rental agencies.

Hyatt nerd here you would get it back as long as you for the cancellation window sometimes it's 7 days 48 hours or 2 weeks. Points post back immediately to your Hyatt account.

Y'all may remember that I had to cancel my trip to Budapest, Vienna, Salzburg and Munich with DS last year since (most of) the Christmas markets in the large city centers closed. In January I re-booked the same trip and it looks like it's a go! I am SO excited for this trip -- it's a bucket list item for me and ds is excited to watch some World Cup games in pubs on local time (esp. the games while we are in Munich).

I had originally booked Toronto --> Charlotte --> Frankfurt using one of dh's SWU on AA and approx. US$600 cash (a fantastic price for a biz class seat). I then booked a seat from Frankfurt --> Budapest using 15k AP pts (I'd have to pick up luggage in FRA and check-in for my Lufthansa flight). I wasn't super excited about the transfers but was willing to deal with it. However on the weekend I got very curious about the possibility of booking Lufthansa First Class since they release seats 15 days in advance. I spent a fair bit of time Saturday and yesterday reviewing "how to" blogs, checking the Lufthansa routes that have planes with first class and using Expert Flyer to see how many seats were open in F. I could see that there were a few routes with open first class seats, but I wasn't seeing any seats available to book on AP :(.

If I am anything, it's determined, so last night just before turning in, I did a quick check from JFK to Munich and 1 seat popped up in first class from JFK --> BOS --> Munich! I opened another window to see if I could get BOS --> Munich, but no F availability was showing, so I grabbed the seat from JFK for 100K AP pts! I am so excited to try Lufthansa First class! I am going to call AP this morning and see if I can drop the leg from JFK to BOS, but if not then I'll deal with it (though it won't be much fun since I'll have to fly Toronto --> LGA, then take a taxi to JFK). DS is flying from Toronto --> Montreal (AC) --> Vienna (Austria Air) and I'll meet him there.

LH F is like one of the holy grail award redemptions!! Bravo!

They moved the tracker to the UR page. On the app select the " See rewards details and redeem" and it'll be under the pending points section. It can take a day or two to show up after approval.
Guys, still no tracker showing up in the app or on the website. I was approved Thursday. Should I be worried?

Mine too. I was told it was because of "money laundering".

I was told that last time at OD as well. Then the cashier checked my CC but not my ID. I thought that was odd since if it truly was due to money laundering wouldn't you want to check the ID too? Staples usually does. I wanted to ask why just one since the only thing she could surmise from my CC was I was the same sex as the name on the card but I figured it was better to not be a smarty pants.

Thank you! I got spoiled with my last trip in first class!

Aeroplan was able to drop the JFK leg this morning. But they don't have any flights from Toronto --> BOS on the 21st that will work with my Lufthansa flight. So I'm looking at flying Porter super early (I do not want to miss that Lufthansa flight) and enjoying some time in the Lufthansa lounge. Wohoo!

I have to spend a night in Munich before flying onwards to Budapest, so I will most likely take the train /bus to Dachau after landing and dropping off my luggage.

As others have said, you'd get the points back if it's still refundable.

You'd also get the points back within the penalty phase, but charged the CASH rate. At least that's the official policy. I would hope with a good reason the hotel would work with you.
