And @CyndiLouWho i got a bad feeling these cards are going to be dropped next year I'd venture to say Hilton too. With this new card coming out that you can buy your way that high it makes the status less valuable imo. My guess is this comes out in the renewal period not this year.

I'm not impressed with Marriott status, too many people complaining they have earned plat and never get upgrades. This will likely make it worse. But I hope they don't get rid of my card just yet. I still manage to use a 35k night.

Totally off topic but I am annoyed. I forgot my Loungefly pirate ears on Soarin last week. I figured they were gone forever. Miraculously they found them and I got them back today. But they mailed them in an envelope and they are damaged. Lost and found says sorry, once we send it it’s not our problem. Grrrr. It wouldn’t be a problem if you shipped it in a safe manner.

Marriott in Vancouver found DS's Alaska Mickey after our cruise. They sent it to me international overnight and charged me. $85 IIRC.

My parents have an offer on their house in Michigan. They had a contingent offer but the people were trying to sell a house half the size of my parents' house for 25% more on a much less desirable lot (my parents are on Little Traverse Bay). This offer is all cash and they need to be out by the end of next month. Of course I have to spend the second week of October in Ohio for work When I get back I'm going to rent a car for two weeks and take the dogs up and help out. They basically can take or leave whatever they want. They have a lot of gorgeous art that I have no place for at the moment, but someday I might. Of course my ex and his wife are expecting any day and my son is not going to want to stay with them and his step-grandparents for two weeks and I need to stay on top of my school work (doing really well, but it's so much work!). Then there's always my job which is a complete soap opera. Not sure how this will work out. My mom said my sister can come instead because she has no problem throwing stuff away, but she's a bit heartless and I'm not sure that's going to go well.

I'm really sad, but I know they are better off in Florida year round.

Can they hire someone to Craigslist or do Facebook Marketplace (not sure if that is still an option) with the stuff they don't want? That's a thing here with people selling and moving who don't have time or inclination to do it themselves, or who don't want to deal with meeting buyers.

They have a cleaning crew and one of the people on the crew has offered to help organize. But they don't have to get rid of any of the non-personal things, they can leave everything. We just need to go through and figure out what needs to go where. For example, my dad has a huge two-story library with books floor to ceiling. I need to get all of the sentimental/first edition books (with my dad's help).

My mom's been going through stuff and making trips to Goodwill for the last month.

There are other things she's trying to figure out like what to do with the 1999 Mercedes truck my dad's been driving (which actually runs fine).

Just a lot of things to sort out.

Since ANA flights to Japan don't require roundtrip anymore, would this work? Book one way departure in biz class (lay flat seats) from LAX, and then book one way return to our home airport, in economy. This is a worse case scenario, if we can't secure biz class both ways, dates sold out, etc. We'd of course rather have Biz class for the way there, with the lounge access, etc. But on the way back, if we couldn't secure a flight, we could always go through United for economy seats, which look like those are easy to come by. Is there something I'm missing, or would this work? Not ideal of course. This would be our "plan B"

I don't want to go that long in coach I know I'm spoiled 6'2 doesn't sound fun when I used to go to Africa for an old job it was horrible(it would bang up my knees) had to push my boss to get comfort + before i had status and it was free... but yeah if you aren't tall and can deal id say so. I do think delta is going to open it up at least this my hope I saw as low as 50k but I bet they could get away with 140 round trip.
The concierge for point me charges 25$ for a shot might be worth pursuing if you want them to do the leg work for 200 a ticket. Might be worth it for 800$ not to sit in coach for 16+ hours (at least from the east coast).

You can also consider JAL flights. It's 60k AA miles one-way and minimal taxes. Or 77.5k BA Avios one-way from SFO (varies based on distance) plus something like $400 in taxes. BA release date is earlier than AA's. Try searching for KIX too, especially if you're going to Kyoto or Osaka, saves you a bullet train ride back to Tokyo.

I leave Monday ... booked through the Delta website, but all legs/flights are "operated by WestJet." (or I see a couple by WestJet Encore).

In the ArriveCan app do I say I am arriving via Delta and use my Delta flight number, or do I say I am arriving via WestJet and use THAT flight number?

And they are talking about the FIRST arrival in Canada, correct? So if my entire trip is PHX>YYC>YXE, I am going to fill out the ArriveCan using YYC as my arrival airport?

I am terrified of screwing this up and getting hauled off by Canadian authorities!

Hadn't thought about this as an option because I didn't have AA miles before but now that I've got 84k this looks so good for one of the flights. The only bummer is they fly into Narita from here instead of Haneda but for a lie flat seat for 5.60 in taxes I can deal with that one way. At least it's another option hopefully.

So one of the 5 Back cards I got at OD isn't swiping. I called the number on the back and they told me they'll send me a new one. I've tried it at a few different places now w/ no luck. I see Staples has fee free this week. I'm hoping I can get lucky. I want to buy some with 3 different cards. And I feel like our Staples never has them! I can go on my way to the hospital on Sunday, and the way back. We'll see how lucky I get. I may do 4 on 1 card and 4 on another card for 1 visit and 8 on the other visit. I gotta make sure my CIC has "space" for this too. UGH. I hate have the low CL. I bumped it to $5k, but still.

@Jax1023 means the "food" = tubefeeding formula. In 30 years as a dietitian we have never sent the formula with the patient anywhere. Most NH, SNF, LTACH have their own formulary and carry multiple products which can be substituted back and forth. Kinda like ordering Heinz ketchup but being subbed Del Monte ketchup. Lol
