Thanks for this recommendation. My mother has similar foot issues. We have an upcoming trip to Venice and Rome and I don't think she realizes how uncomfortable the cobblestone will be on her feet after many hours. She is planning on bringing a $4 pair of used sketchers she got at Goodwill. Yes, a woman with multiple foot surgeries is wearing someone else's used shoes, sigh. A few years back I got her a gift card to Allbirds but she just complained that everything was too expensive, though it wasn't costing her anything.
By the way, for anyone looking for great travel shoes, I absolutely love all our pairs of Allbirds from Treeskippers to the water-repellant Mizzles.
