Looking for recommendations, we bought a new house and are beyond in need of a new vacuum.
What doesn't break the bank but picks up dog hair well?

No need to transfer. MR are by customer not by card. Both my BBP and my Gold show the same number.
I'm team Dyson. We've had the Animal for a very long time (close to 20 years). Had a Golden Retreiver and it handled the hair great. The cordless one I am less thrilled with but does a decent job on the wood floors. I also own a shark lift away at our second home. I find that it is not as stable an has a smaller head.

I have a question on the Amex plat resort credit. If I book a night now for sometime next year and prepay, then after Jan. 1 book another night in the same area I can basically use the both years' credit for one trip correct? Thinking of a DC trip, 2 nights using the FHR (different hotels, I'm ok with checking out and into another place). Just want to make sure this is an option before I go ahead and book something for next year.

My DH had the CSP several years ago. Since I also had the CSP, I did PC it to the CFF after the year. It is not likely that he would rent a car without me. I know that one never knows, but since it it not likely to happen we don't need the extra AF. If he were to need a rental without me, we would just add the insurance through the rental company, I guess. Not sure how much the rental insurance through the rental company would be, but if it happened once every two or three years, it should be less than the CSP AF - no?
You can always add P2 as an AU to the CSP (free) and if it's been more than 24 months since the CSP was opened, it won't affect P2's 5/24 at all since Chase backdates AUs. That way P2 also has a CSP with their name on it, and you can transfer into their partner accounts.

yes, if you book a trip for next year before 12/31 you'll get the $200 credit this year, then you'll need to book the next hotel after 1/1 to use next year's credit.

Can DH transfer points from his CIP to my Sapphire? His annual fee is coming up and he wants to downgrade. My Sapphire will still give us 1.25 redemptions.

I saw OMAAT post this morning about a limited time SW CP offer (similar to one offered last year). Register for the promotion, purchase a round trip or two one ways by 9/8/22, travel by 11/17/22, and get a CP from 1/4/23 to 3/4/23. It's particularly handy for anyone trying to time a CP for the beginning of 2023 when you haven't received your qualifying points for the CP yet. Though it doesn't help if you're flying between 1/1/23-1/3/23 lol

We have the yellow Dyson big ball canister. https://www.dyson.com/vacuum-cleaners/canisters/big-ball/multi-floor

It's what our cleaning lady suggested when she started cleaning for us wayyyy back. And let me tell you, it DOES really suck up everything - including German Shepherd hair and - including area rugs lol...

Count me in on Team Dyson. We have the animal (it's about 10 years old now) and it is amazing at how much dog hair it sucks up. We have 2 dogs and a cat and it does a great job.

If you are looking for a real-life vacuum reviews, I'd suggest following GoCleanCo on Instagram. I started following her during the pandemic and she shows you how to literally clean anything. She owns a cleaning service but shows you how to clean things that you may think will never come clean again. She did a whole review of vacuums that is saved to her account. She weighs in on which ones are good for hardwood, animals, industrial use, ect.

So I'm not 100% Team Dyson - I LOVE my Roomba for upstairs and the under-the-bed cat hair and all over cat litter.

But I have the Animal stick Dyson and the Dyson Big Ball for downstairs because of our GSD. That Big Ball has so much suction... that after my back surgery I had to stop using it. lol I use the Dyson Animal Stick just about every day downstairs and leave the Big Ball to our cleaning lady for her every other week usage.

I had a notification on my phone and when I clicked it, it opened the SW app but didn't have the details. THen I couldn't find the notification because I guess I clicked thru it? (I don't have may apps that do notifications).

Thanks for this detail -- we've done a limited CP before but this doesn't make any sense for us (despite us traveling in that timeframe). My DH is getting a knee replaced in early 2023, so no travel planned for that time period.

OMG, I'm about to lose it over my dad's cell phone!!! I managed to get add to it (Verizon). I've been in 3 different stores asking about his account, and his apparent phone that he owes on. Somehow he got suckered into $300 ON A FLIP PHONE! And his phone bill is $120! HE HAS A FLIP PHONE. He used to be on my ATT plan where I paid $25 for him. Verizon said I could set up access to his account online and do all I needed to do to transfer him to ATT. Again, I went to THREE stores! I have his account number and his physical phone. Well I can't create his online account (or one for me) unless I know his PIN. I can't reset his PIN unless I log into an online account! And when I called for help.....I HAVE TO GO INTO A STORE! AHHHHH! When I was in the store they told me it could all be done online.

Then I decided to stop over to ATT to start the transfer of his number to my account and to an old iphone I have. There is a promo for $250 if you bring your own phone.....You can't do it in the store, YOU HAVE TO DO IT ONLINE!!! I seriously just can't!!!! This has opened my eyes to everything I need to have in place for myself!

I would suggest that you try paying all of your AmEx balances to zero a few days before any AmEx application. It was my escape from popup purgatory, and it has worked for all of my AmEx apps since.
OOOOH I may try that!

I know you guys will understand my pain LOL.
My water bill is on autopay to a long standing credit card. My water bill has been very high this summer, we are in a drought.
So, for this bill, I went on and made the payment with a card I have an MSR on instead. That should trigger a zero balance. Well, the darn auto pay went through anyway. I called to leave a message, asking to be refunded, and she didn't call me back to ask anything, she just went ahead and refunded the payment I made with my MSR card instead of the auto pay that was taken a few days after that one. wahhhh!!!
Then in the message she says, you are setup for auto pay, so you will not need to go on and make a payment in the future. I've lived her for 20 years and had auto pay setup since day 1 LOL, I think I get it.
