Was the points option on Hilton website?
It was, the first and only time I've seen it. This was in April 2021.
I'm thinking DH needs the Amex Gold, but I'm wondering if this is a keeper card?
Or maybe he should just get the Plat. but we don't have a gold in the family and we don't need the benefits of the Plat (he has a biz plat), but we are low on MRs.

Thoughts?
My AMEX Gold is one of two cards that will have to be taken out of my cold dead hand by force. The other is my CSP. It is my top earner since it has 4x on restaurants and grocery, for anyone that has a Meijer near them, all Meijer code as grocery.
Popping in for a quick question!

Does a WDW package (room and tickets) code as travel on CSP? I can't remember. I know just tickets won't unless from UT or another broker. But if it's a resort+ticket package purchased directly from Disney, is that considered "travel"?

Thanks guys!
It did for me in Dec. 2019. I don't have any more recent knowledge.

Couldn't find anything on Hilton, Marriott or Hyatt websites, so I ended up booking through Park sleep fly. Then I get an email from Rakuten that Park sleep fly has 10% off. Never even thought of looking there 🤦‍♀️
I'll be trying to cancel and rebook today.

I just checked, the package is till available to be booked on the Hilton website for the Hampton Inn O'Hare. They have removed the points option, but you can book a points and cash booking for that rate on the website. I'm guessing this is completely location dependent. Looks like it's $90 to add parking to the room stay, that includes shuttle each way to ORD.

Unfortunately we're flying SW out of MDW. I didn't see anything for hotels near MDW. Thanks for looking though.

What I have always done for MDW is book the Hampton Inn in Burr Ridge. It is 4 minutes down I-55 and usually the cheapest Hilton in Chicagoland. And park at Park 'N Fly on 47th St. I'm far enough away if I have a morning flight I have to stay the night before.

Does anyone have the Gold amex support link with the 90K SUB? I looked in the DIS reddit but couldn't pull one up. I think you have to create the link from a Gold card.

DH and I are in the middle of planning a last minute quick trip to Charleston, SC over Memorial Day weekend. I have our flights booked and want to thank everyone for the discussion on booking car rentals through UCT. Our rate through Chase using UR points (how we typically book rental cars) was $510 (34,000 pts) and it's $199 through UCT ($206 with the ticket added in)!

So, I'm happy with the rate, but got thinking if we need a rental car in Charleston? Due to points, I'm booking at either Hyatt House or Place on King Street. From reading reviews, it says they are right by the free bus stop that takes you downtown. In addition to walking that area, we plan on going to a plantation or two and also to one of the beach areas - possibly Isle of Palms, Folly Beach, Sullivan's Island or something like that.

After the parking fee, it would be about $275. You can take a lot of Uber rides for that, but I kind of like the freedom of having a car. But, I also know that in some cities a car is more of a pain than it's worth, so not sure which way to go.

I will probably book the Hyatt House because DH and I both have stays recorded at Hyatt Place and this would check another box toward earning a free night. I looked into splitting our stay so each of our accounts could get credit for a new property, but the points are 3,000 more points per night when it's split into a two night and a one night stay, so we probably wouldn't do that unfortunately.

How do you get to the page? I wonder if that's what it is. I always just google credit report name unfreeze and it generally gets me directly to the page and then I click unfreeze to prompt a place to sign in. If there's another way to get to something that does it, that could be it.

It was a quick call so I didn't mind doing it since it did what I needed it to do.

Now if barclays app status page would just say I have an app :rotfl: Impatient to begin with but not being able to see actual status is annoying.

Does barclays biz cards go onto your personal account if you already have one? Or will I need to make a new one if they approve me? Just curious if that's another way to see it.

Like you I do a Google search for Experian credit freeze. It then takes me to the log in screen and this is immediately what shows up now. You can see the toggle switch that says frozen. I just clicked on it and it immediately switched to unfrozen. There’s also the option to schedule a thaw. As I said, I was then able to immediately go back and toggle it back to frozen. Super convenient now.

Had zero clue I could actually click on that to change it. It does let you but there's nothing there to tell you it's a toggle you can click on vs just showing if your report is frozen or not. Good to know I can do it online.

Charleston is pretty walkable around King... from Hyatt to all the shopping/restaurants, the City Market, Rainbow Row, and the Battery (probably 30 min walk one way total). We've parked and walked it a few times. We've never had an issue finding free on-street parking. But if you plan on leaving the historic area, a car is best. Magnolia Plantation is 30 min drive. We've been to all the beaches you mention multiple times. Our favorite is Isle of Palms. Parking is VERY close to beach access. There's several restaurants, ice cream shops VERY close to the beach, so we'll always walk out and grab a cone or some food while spending the day. Folly is good too. Sullivan's has nothing close to the beach (restaurants or shops) and is much more a residential area, although this also makes it the least crowded. It's our least favorite out of the three. Either Folly or Isle of Palms is at least 30-40 min drive from downtown Charleston, and could take an hour during Memorial Day weekend, so I can't imagine an Uber would be very cost effective. In summary, we've never felt like a car was a burden in Charleston. We've been to many major cities, and lived in NYC for over 10 years. I would say NYC, definitely burden to have a car. Miami, San Francisco, even LA at times, definitely a burden. Charleston is VERY small in comparison and a car has always been beneficial. It has also been extremely hot here recently, and it's always hotter at the coast. Even though some places are only 20 min walk from the hotel, you may not want to walk in the heat. Just my opinion :) We drive to Charleston 3-4 times a year. The only place we've found it difficult to park is around the Starbucks/Apple Store and within those few blocks... always crowded.

Can someone remind me about the AmEx rules for getting a refund of an annual fee. I know it's 30 days after the AF posts for a full refund, but does AmEx do partial refunds after 30 days? I have a Plat that I will possibly be downgrading to a Gold but I might want to keep the Plat for a few weeks after the 30 days--if I downgrade after the 30 days, will I get any of the AF back?

When you close the account within 30 days they'll refund the AF, when you downgrade/upgrade they prorate the AFs. If you have the Plat for 60 days, they'll refund the other 305 days, and charge the gold fee for 305 days. Does that make sense?

Does anyone have the Gold amex support link with the 90K SUB? I looked in the DIS reddit but couldn't pull one up. I think you have to create the link from a Gold card.

Just updated my link on reddit. It can pull up the 90k offer in Chrome and Edge incognito. Weirdly, a bit unstable though. Sometimes it won't pull it up, I close the window and try again and then it can.

ETA: (Link was generated from a biz plat.)

Question I thought I’d ask here before I call Bonvoy.

We want to stay at Courtyard Marriott at Disneyland; it is 140k Bonvoy points for two nights. The current offer for Chase Bonvoy Credit Card is 150,000 points after $3k spend; fine print says it is three free night certificates for up to 50k points per night.

So - I need 70k per night to stay at the Courtyard. Will they let me use my 150k points towards the two nights, use 50k points per night and pay the difference, or can I not use the point certificates at all?

And if no one knows, to the phones I go!
As someone mentioned, you can top off a FNC with 15k points. If you are currently seeing 70k points per night, check several times per day. Marriott has dynamic pricing, so you may see the points needed fluctuate. In your case, since you don't already have this card, I wouldn't gamble getting it and not having it work for what you are trying to accomplish.

No luck for P1 or P2, but we don't have personal golds.

Rules:
1. If you cancel the card, you have 30 days to receive a full refund.
2. If you PC the card, my understanding is that they will prorate it based on the date you PC. You might want to chat to confirm you could PC at , for example, 45 days after the AF hit. I did PC at about the 30 day window.

Just to double check, you've had the Gold before?

This shouldn't be the case. The points/night is based on the peak/non-peak calendar. It wouldn't vary by length of stay (unlike cash rates). When you search for availability, it shows you the lowest point value in your date range (notice the "rates from"). You have to click in or use the points calendar to see the number of points per night.

Try this link I got from the comments section of DOC. I used it last month and it worked. Used chrome incognito. It's for 90,000MR + 20% back on dining up to $250 for $4000 spend.

ETA: Just deleted it because maybe I'm not supposed to post the support link? It's not mine but still not sure. I'll send it by pm.

A reminder to keep checking any cash or points bookings you have with Marriott. I was able to get a better rate twice over the past few days. And it's easy to just modify the reservation and rebook the same day, just at the better rate, without having to cancel and rebook.
Thank you for reminding us of this. I was just able to rebook into a larger room for 10k LESS. Thank you 🙏🏻
