I have 2 reservations under my account, one for us and one for my parents-we are traveling together, but your question got me wondering if I did it wrong so I reached out to Hyatt concierge and she said it is perfectly fine to have multiple reservations on my account and up to 3 rooms would receive my Globalist benefits but I would only earn points/night credit for my room. You can only book one room at a time with points, so you’ll just need to make separate reservations.
i asume you are transferring the URs to your Hyatt account correct?

That's interesting. From reading Flyertalk, I thought it was up to the hotel whether to extend Globalist benefits to multiple rooms. Though most will do it, the only way to guarantee it was to do Guest of Honor. But since the concierge says so, maybe it's actually official policy.

We'll be traveling with my parents too. Still plan to do the Guest of Honor under my name for their room since I'll get 2 new brands during the trip. Then I'll have 4 brands and will just need 1 more for the FNC.

For those that have been to DLP and Paris, did you do Disney or Paris first? We will arrive at 9:30AM on Sunday and depart at 11:00AM the following Saturday.
I'm thinking 3 nights in each location. My original thought was Paris first, but seems like some things are usually closed Sunday/Monday/Tuesday.

We did dlp first to get all the walking out of the way. Not that we didn't walk a lot in Paris but wr also had the metro. We stayed on site and would also take a break in the room which helped as well. Didn't really do that in paris since we weren't near the room.

This now has me looking at changing my flight though, LOL. It's 2.5 hours from PGV to Carolina Beach. ILM is right there, and then there is MYR (on Spirit, aka free, LOL) which is 2 hours away. The rental car out of ILM is $30 more, but an SUV which I prefer. The flight is 23k miles more. MYR would be free, but the rental cars are $600, even off site. I guess I have time to figure it all out, since everything can be cancelled.

Have you looked at RDU? It's about 2.5 hours from RDU to Carolina Beach. If you could get a direct instead of connecting flights to those others you'd for sure come out ahead time wise.

Thank you, I had it the other way around but I'm thinking it might be best to start with DLP! I guess I should read your TR again. That will probably be very helpful.

Thanks for the reminder! I need to book my Paris/Rome nights for my August trip. Luckily, my CIB SUB points hit tomorrow. Now, I just have to make a final decision on where I want to stay.

I prefer aspirational properties even if I have to pay for a night or two. Anybody stayed at the Hilton Maison Astor in Paris? Any Hyatt/Hiton/Bonvoy suggestions for either city?

I haven't but iirc @mmmears has been to the PH Vendome in Paris. I've also read great things about the Hotel de Louvre (both Hyatt properties). I stayed in the Westin Excelsior in Rome (Bonvoy) on a tour and it was very nice but sadly don't remember much other than a lot of marble lol since I was so jet lagged. 😆 Enjoy your planning!

The vendome is great! I would still spend the points they want. I felt it was walkable to things and places to eat.

RDU would be on Delta. My goal for NC is normally using my AA miles. Spirit flies to RDU but not direct. But yeah, I guess I should look at RDU again, LOL. My goal for this trip is as close to free as possible. So I'd need to see what the $$$ is and the miles. LOL

ETA- It would be 39k miles on Delta or $300, if I shift my days 1 day, it's 16k miles. But either way the rental car is $500! So no go on RDU, LOL.

Just want to share: I used the 20% and 10% BJs offer to buy Disney GC to pay my DVC dues. Along with other various offers for different merchants earlier this year, I have paid over half my annual dues so far at a 14.2% savings overall. This does not take into account URs/MRs earned or cash back from shopping portals.
That's great. I don't have DVC to pay so need fewer GCs but right now I have paid 52% of the value of the $875 in GCs I'm saving for DLR trip. Biggest way is BCP 6% at grocery store, then use cashback to buy GCs. DH has $200 still remaining in rewards and referred me for $300 SUB which is reflected in above total.

We only did one day at DLP so we did it in the middle of the trip

Dd and I have stayed twice at the PH Vendome. I highly recommend it! The hotel is very nice and the location is excellent. We've also stayed at Hotel Barriere Le Fouquet's which is amazing, but not part of a rewards program (though I imagine that URs or MRs could be used). Hotel de Louvre has been rated very highly -- I'd probably try that next time.

Dd and I stayed in Paris and took the Metro to DLP for a day. In retrospect I'd probably stay at least a night at DLP since it seemed like every.single.ride broke down while we were in line for it. Maybe not though because people were smoking everywhere in the park, no one used designated smoking areas and the CMs refused to tell people not to smoke outside of designated areas (maybe, hopefully, this has changed since we have been). Since I hate cigarette smoke this was a huge drawback for me. We did end up going to talk to Guest Relations (since we lined up for Haunted Mansion 3 times and it broke down all 3 times) and they gave us a few passes to bypass lines, which did help (especially with Crush's Coaster).

Is FD back to playing nice w/ Serve? Can I load $500 at once using a variable load VGC? I have a $500 card I grabbed from Kroger I'd love to unload since I jumped on the $750 AA offer this week for virtual cards.

I only use the $200 VGCs when Staples has the sale…earlier this month one of the three FDs that still worked went to cash only for Serve loads…there are 4 close to me and now 2 are cash only and who know how long the others will last

A few years ago, I was able to redeem UR for Universal Tickets and then upgrade to annual passes at the parks. I am hoping to do that again but I have forgotten some things and some things may have changed.

The biggest question I have right now is due to the promo of Buy 3 Days, Get 2 Free tickets. If those are the tickets that I end up buying, is the cost of that ticket what gets deducted from the price of the annual pass when I upgrade, or the price of a five day ticket? I seem to recall that I just went ahead and got five day tickets last time because it was going to be less out of pocket overall. Does anyone know how that is working right now?

Anything else I need to know that may have changed? I don't see Universal Tickets on the portal currently but in the past they kind of came and went. Have people been able to get them since the portal change? I can always do PYB through UT (possibly a better deal that didn't exist when I did this last time) but am curious what the redemption is like both ways.

Thanks!

I have loaded many $500 VGC from Kroger at FD until, as @palhockeymomof2 said, they changed to cash only. As she also mentioned some stores still allow it. Maybe you’ll get lucky.

I'm really curious when (or maybe IF?) rentals will come down. Truly insane. We have a car booked for Bozeman for 8 days that is costing twice as much as an Escalade cost us just 3 years ago (though maybe I don't want to pay that gas anyway). I'll be curious what "automatic upgrade" I'll get now that I'm President's (via Venture X). We've only used Hertz for the last 10 years because my corp discount made it competitive with anyone else.
