Looking for Chase experience here....

"My husband" applied for the CSP recently and got what I thought was the immediate rejection. Then a day or so later he received an email from Chase wanting to verify income documents, which he sent them. This was probably... a week ago or so.

Today he has a voicemail from Chase Business Banking Fraud protection asking them to call him. He has NO relationship with Chase and certainly no Business banking or card accounts.

Has anyone else experienced this? We have applied him for Chase Biz cards in the past (months and months ago) and been outright denied but nothing recent. He really doesn't want to call but we are worried about the "fraud" part of it.

I transferred Hhonots points from DH to my account last night, and they aren't showing up yet. It says to give them 24 hrs, but I thought it used to be almost instant. Has anyone done this lately?

I transferred mine to DH back in January. It took a solid 24hrs. Felt like an eternity

On a CC note, if I use VGC's at Costco will they auto drain each one based on the balance? I.E. My total is $375, will it auto drain one $200 card and then allow me to use another $200 card for the remaining $175? Just trying to plan out a large trip next month.

Yes, this is exactly how it works. I’ve used as many as 3 gift cards in 1 transaction. They didn’t care, but I started to feel like people were staring at me like “if she swipes 1 MORE CARD” but that’s just me. Costco is a great place to drain gift cards, especially partially used ones with random balances.

So dd graduated today and I held it together. The weather was flawless. And they kept the ceremony to 70 minutes (425 or so seniors).

And I've made two trips to Staples in the last 24 hours so I'm up to $3,000 in VGC for the week. Would love to get at least another $1,000. Not too much exciting on the credit front right now since I'm working on my $15k AMEX Biz Platinum MSR. And the insurance company wouldn't take Amex for the umbrella policy (it's not technically through Geico)

I would be concerned that the call itself is fraud. Call the Chase Biz number on the back of your card and ask for fraud department.

I will add to the socialization as early as possible is best. Our first dog was a golden mix and I took her to work with me everyday till she was six months old (yes, I was very lucky it was a unique working situation). That got her used to a lot of noises, people and car rides. We didn't have kids then and she was our kid. We took her on road trips, stayed in hotels and she was fine. Now we have two dogs, one a lab/pit mix and another blood hound/rhodesian ridgeback mix. When we got the hound/roadie mix we had two small kids and both worked full time out of the house. She didn't get the socialization that she should have and to this day, you can take her on a walk and she may be fine with other people and dogs or she may lunge at them. I still work with her on this and its still 50/50. The lab/pit mix we got when things were calmer in our house and took him as many places as possible with us, still do as he is as clam as can be. I hate to say we've given up on the hound/roadie being better behaved but she's 7 now and I've resigned myself to she is who she is. We have a house sitter who is familiar with her and dogs in general that says with them when we are out of town.

Discover. Are all those cards recent? Because you might hit their 5/24.

2 are with this year. I think the other two are over 24 months. I didn't think about the 5/24...

That is such a bummer!

DD was an AU on three of my Amexes and two Chase cards for years so when she went off to school there was no 5/24 issues. Unfortunately the Chase Student card wasn't available online so before her freshman year she got a student Discover and a Capital One student card. She uses the Cap1 card almost exclusively but the student Discover gives a $20 bonus every year for 5 years for good grades so why not? This past fall as a sophomore, she applied (finally online whoo hoo) for the Chase Student Freedom so she's in Chase's ecosystem as an adult.

TBH if you can, I'd just go straight to the Chase Student card.

You can have him call and then see if they will speak to you on his behalf…..although we tried this once since my DH also hates to call and it didn’t work so I coached him while we were on speakerphone

Mine did Discover first then the regular Freedom Unlimited probably a year or less later. I’m not sure how the student Freedom card differs since it wasn’t around then

To splurge or not to splurge on a new grill…I really want a Weber but ugh that price tag. But I do have the Lowe’s offer and $500 offer that I can stack. To those that have a Weber, is it really worth it? I am just looking at the 3 burner that goes for $569.

Seems the website crashed, its super slow and now that is loads I get this when I try to play...



Edit: Well it must have went though even tho the site did nothing, just got an email I was not a winner, website just said "502 Bad Gateway" and never displayed anything.

Sounds like the Weber we have…purchased it 7 years ago and it’s still working great….for us it was worth it…but I did have to get over the price..but I figured the other grills we had lasted only 2-3 years

Thanks. Our no name lasted 16 years and survived many bird nests also. I am struggling too since we plan to move when DS graduates in 3 years. Decisions are usually so easy!2
