Was able to reserve my Going-To-The-Sun-Road ticket for the beginning of our Glacier trip today! :cool1: FYI for anyone going to Glacier this year, you need a timed entry ticket to enter the park between 6am and 5pm; before/after those hours you do not need a ticket. You also do not need a ticket if you have reservations at lodging or a booked activity on GTTSR. We're driving in from Spokane, staying at Whitefish the first 2 nights and then moving to Many Glacier. So now we can drive GTTSR to Many Glacier. I am just excited this trip is coming together.

I expect record crowds though. People are itching to travel but figuring domestic road trips are less likely to be cancelled than other travel. The National Parks were popular last year and I expect will be even more so this year.

Thanks guys! I’m fortunate I don’t experience any kind of motion sickness, so this is a new adventure in parenting for me. I definitely want her to have some relief. I’ll try some Bonine/Dramamine first, and see how she handles it. The Zofran is a great idea as well. Thanks for feedback on Sea Bands as well!
I sent you a PM with an exercise to try over the next 2 weeks. I'm a PT (well, retired PT ;) ) and worked with vestibular dysfucntions. I didn't want to post the exercise here as it is not my pdf. It is an eye exercise essentially to help the brain understand the unput from the eyes and ears so that all systems are on the same page.

My DS's CIU statement closed and I'd like to transfer his UR to my account (we live in the same household and I did all the spend). However, on the Combine Points screen there isn't an option to add a household member. Is there any way to add mine so we can combine points? Is it because he's the only person listed as an owner of the business? I'd rather not make him call, maybe I could trying sending a SM? This is DS's only UR card. TIA!

OFF TOPIC! Motion sickness, specifically car sickness, relief recommendations please!

My 11yr old DD has mild car sickness, has only vomited once in multiple longer trips, but has been complaining about nausea more lately. Even on 10 minute rides. We have a road trip in 2 weeks and I’ve been researching options, but thought maybe you guys could offer suggestions. So far I’m looking at Sea Bands and Dramamine. I highly doubt she’ll try ginger, she’s finicky 😏 My concern about Dramamine is that it will make her sleepy. It’s not the end of the world, but I’d rather not knock her out, or make her grumpy because she’s sleepy. Do any of you have experience with either Sea Bands or Dramamine (Bonine), either personally or with kids? Thank you!
My 21-year-old DD earned her nickname of "baby barfy" on one of her first longer road trips, and unfortunately that hasn't changed much. Most kids seem to grow out of motion sickness, but she still gets it: in cars, on trains, on boats, and on airplanes. I was visiting her in London last week, and she hadn't been on a train in a while and started to turn green. She's a great sport about it though and pretty much carry's on without complain. We've tried sea bands--absolutely useless piece of plastic--and various drugs. She is sensitive to medications and doesn't like they way they make her feel. What works for her is no screens of any kind (even movies on planes), no reading, fresh air (if possible) and ginger. You can find various types at natural food stores to try out. I will hope your DD is one of the kids who grows out of it :)

please report back! plan to go but the rental car issue is stopping me from going...

Hi folks! I want to see the strategy for MDD CSP+CSR but haven't been able to access the reddit. I put my Dis username in the message last week, was there something else I needed to do? So grateful for this thread!

This is what worked for me. And being the driver as I got older. I haven't gotten nauseous in quite some time with someone else driving, but no longer trips unless I'm the driver. Also, shotgun seat. And, I can't let my eyes wander - have to either close them or focus on a point.

@Psychodisney - could you share the eye exercises with me? As I get older my choice may become staying home or letting someone drive me.

Any recommendations for things to do in Aruba?
We loved the ATV tour we did. I think I booked it through Expedia but might have been with URs. Lots of tour companies do this.
The pirate ship trip that leaves from near the Marriott. Has a fun rope swing that my kids had fun with! Snorkeling too but tends to be rough water. We loved the restaurant right there for dinner but the name escapes me.

Look up VOR 1. It’s a great starting point for motion sensitivity and vestibular hypofunction. There are probably videos on YouTube. I recommend a total of 10-12 minutes a day, Broke up into 3 sessions. Work on increasing rate to 100-120 beats/ minute with help of a metronome. You might start in sitting, progress to standing.
The brain can totally respond to this. Might take a couple of weeks to see the results! Give it a chance to learn!

that brings up a lot of results. I would love it if you shared also, pm would be great. I have vertigo on top of the motion sickness and am always a bit off kilter. Vestibular migraines too LOL. I have some therapy sheets they gave me a few years back, but I don't think they did much for me.

Yeah, rental cars near there are crazy right now. I booked mine, out of Spokane, last July. I hope they have one when I get there. I’ve been reading on trip advisor that there are none to be found for anyone trying to rent last minute at Kalispell.

Chase has been having a problem with this for about a week that I've seen. Some have been able to load the page incognito and the 'add a card' option just appears. If it doesn't work it can't hurt to SM to ask about it.

There are a ton of results. Vertigo has many causes. Some easier to treat than others. The hypo function is kind of like your brain not getting information in “stereo” from your ears. Conflicting info from each side. When I treat VOR 1, I recommend a dot (instead of a letter) to start with. It’s easier to keep a simple dot in focus. Move your head side to side ( about to 30-45degrees) as if your saying no. Increase the rate up to 120 beats. Progress to a letter, then a word, then a photo. Sitting then standing.
The migraine component unfortunately is tough. Sometimes it can be a component of neck issues too.

I meant googling VOR brings up a ton of results LOL, not many of which had anything to do with motion sickness or vertigo. I did have that one already, and a few others. I just live with it for the most part.

I knew what you meant! Lol
Vertigo is certainly not a one size fits all diagnosis or treatment. Getting a correct diagnosis is the first thing!

Kind of off-topic, but not since there have been lots of ccard deals in the past, but can someone recommend a good mattress in a box? Looking at Casper, Tuft & Needle, Avocado, and any other brand someone may want to recommend.

Hi folks! Planning on trying out MDD for CSP + CSR this week. Saw the strategy :-)
Questions:
Is Chase Recon open tomorrow given the holiday? I'm thinking not so will need to wait until Tuesday
Also, I think I'll go for CSP first since the SUB is better, unless I'm missing something?
