Me! We will be there 6/12-6/16.
We were there over Thanksgiving and felt completely safe. The crowds were manageable, we did stay at HRH so we had express pass. This time we are staying at RPR to save a couple of dollars but still have EP.
I am using Chase PYB to cover most of the cost, haven’t finalized our trip as I’m waiting for the free SW flight change window to open. Should be later this month.
This trip will be mostly Volcano Bay, so excited.
Volcano Bay is outstanding. That fast "lazy" river is the best.

I have checked my Chase acct a million times today.

I have a new business card listed! Guess I was approved for the CIU!! Will they expedite a business card if I SM? The $7500 is going to be a stretch for me and I have some stuff to buy in the next few days that could help make a dent.
woohoo!!

Check and compare rates on Autoslash. Check back once or twice a day until to your trip for lower prices, and cancel and rebook. Go through a portal when booking with Priceline. Pay with your CSR for primary car rental collision damage waiver coverage and 3x UR.
I'll check autoslash.
Thank you!

I'm so dissatisfied with the response from this Chase SM:

"Becauseimnew, as explained earlier, you have received referral bonus for four successful referrals (15,000 points each) for the year 2020. In order to investigate this matter further, please reply to this email with the following details of all the five referrals: - We would either need the full 16-digit credit card account number of the five referrals; or if you cannot provide us with their full credit card account numbers, we will then need their full name, zip code and the last four digits of their credit card account numbers."

I would NEVER ask my friends to share any of the information they are requesting. I have an email from Chase that clearly says I earned 75,000 referral points, their records show I was only given 60,000. I don't know what I'm missing.
Follow up to this... I kept pushing. I offered to forward the email I received from Chase, I was passed to 2 different departments but I finally have my missing 15,000 points.
Today has been a great support link day.
DH earned 15K from my CIU approval, I earned 15K from my friend's CSP approval today and now these 15K. Time to go buy more Disney GCs.

Before I was in the churning game “for-real” two cards closed for inactivity.

I just spoke with CITI diamond preferred and they offered to reopen the card, no credit pull, just re-instating the account. This account is 10 years old, so helps with length of accounts. I have no interest in the card and it doesn’t currently offer any SUBS. It would be the only CITI card I have.

Thoughts??

Because it's Citi, I would worry about it. Here's a DP where they said they weren't going to hard pull and did it anyways. I would worry it would end up a new account and take up a 5/24 slot! Not that I saw a DP of that, but I would worry. There's a reason people say Citi gonna Citi (and that's the polite version lol).

Closed accounts stay on your credit report and continue to age for 10 years before falling off. If it was me, I think I wouldn't take the risk.

Anyone headed to WDW in March or April make sure you have your Disney Park Pass Reservations secured. Disney just notified TAs that due to Spring Break some days in March and April are no longer available for theme park reservations. Disney also mentioned that in particular MK and DHS are limited in availability.

I find it noteworthy because as far as I can recall Disney has not warned TAs of a lack of reservation availability. Spring Break is shaping up to be very busy so plan accordingly if you're headed to the World!

Is 1h 27min enough transfer time at DFW between domestic flights?

ETA: My son requested to go out west this summer so pricing out Yellowstone to Badlands. Flights are ok (23.5k AA miles) but the car rental is $9k for a car that fits the 6 of us. I am super lost planning these nature, American national park trips. I was so excited to finally make a decision, find decent flights, and surprise the kids when they came home from school but the car thing is a deal breaker.

Yikes! :faint: I have been thinking about driving across the country (maybe one way, maybe RT) but this is making me consider flying even though I really don't want to.

Does anyone know of a card with 0% interest when you apply? I feel like this comes up every once in awhile, and Pen Fed sticks in my mind for some reason but I can't remember. Have a friend that's looking for one and I thought this was a better place to ask than google, at least to start :)

ETA should add that it does need to be for balance transfer. I see one from Citi that gives you 18 months and one from US bank that gives 20 months. Friend hasn't opened a new card since summer 2019 and has a credit score that's over 720 so should be ok for either of these as I know they can be sensitive to inquiries. If there's not a better option out there, would the Citi be more of an easy one to get? I feel like US bank can be kinda picky, so while the extra 2 months would probably be good I also don't want to set them up to fail and get a hp for nothing.

Membership required. AAA has one out (at least on paper - I received an envelop with the offer in yesterday's mail) . No annual fee, 0% for 15 months, $200 statement credit for $1000 spend, 3% on travel and AAA purchases, 2% on groceries, gas, wholesale club and drugstores, 1% on everything else. No foreign transaction fees.

Points redemptions are cash back, statement credits, AAA vouchers good towards travel and more, gift cards, auto rentals, hotels. BOA product.
If you should go this route and don't have the required AAA membership, I have support in DISchurn MISC where you get $20 toward next years membership (nothing for me)

And the FL branch I was in sold Disney GCs at a 5% discount (which should pair nicely with a travel card)

The AF for my DH CSR posted on 2/1 and I am getting ready to PC to a CF. Planning to move the UR to his CIP until I can apply for the CSR on 5/1. I am reluctant to PC this card and I keep trying to think of what I am missing. I know that we won't be able to use PYB or book anything at 1.5 redemption until May, but is there anything else?

You can always PC back if needed.

If you're looking for non-stop to the upper East Coast, you're pretty much left with Hawaiian from HNL to BOS and JFK, or United from HNL to EWR (or maybe IAD?).

https://www.flightconnections.com/flights-from-honolulu-hnl
Keep in mind these are red-eyes. You'd depart HNL around 2-4 p.m. in the afternoon and arrive on the east coast around 5-7 a.m. the next morning.

I know HA has a pretty nice soft product up in First.

FWIW, here are some TPG reviews:

Unsure how covid precautions have impacted service or schedules.

It looks like you've done some research on UA's flights.

You've probably seen this: https://thepointsguy.com/news/united-ewr-ogg-high-j-767/

Just plugging in some dates in early November for HNL-EWR, and it looks like the it's flown by a 767-300 with the older configuration. I know @Alexle2007 is flying United First this week - maybe she can speak to seats and service.

Here's another article discussing plane changes due to the UA's grounding of their 777s with P&W engines, although it doesn't look like it impacted east coast flights.

I’ll report back on Fri. We are flying ORD to Honolulu on a 767. According to seatguru is a Polaris. We just got our negative test results so we are cleared to go! There are lots of steps in the process. I am hoping i didn’t miss any.

Do you have any trips booked with the CSR and would want the travel insurance?

Good to know that exists, I didn't know there was a way to get a discount on AAA.

Friend ended up going for the Citi card, the goal was really to get the balance transferred to eliminate debt and get some breathing room while some stuff gets sorted. I do think that's a good card but would have incurred additional cost with the membership and needed to meet spend which isn't the objective at the moment.
