My Plats are all too new to get any offers, but I am liking the BBP spend $500 get $25 back. That will be a moneymaker. For a no AF card, it sure does get some good offers. I see I've saved $170, add that to the $150 I got for retention bonus and that's a pretty good deal.

You got a $150 retention on the BBP? Thought I only saw $50 reported. Wasn't going to do it in case I need the slot but might have to for $150!

I know for us to sync doesn't always happen. Michigan decided to have counties have similar calendars. I teach in one county, live in another. The road we live off of is seriously Oakland on one side (I teach in Oakland) and Wayne in the other (I live in Wayne). It makes more sense for my kids to be synced with my school then say Detroit which is in our county but 30 min away. I don't know why they can't all get more on the same page.

I guess for me, it's a hard pill to swallow $1500 in just park tickets! Ahhhh! I mean I guess I could start watching for GC offers for a chance to score the tickets cheaper. Then my kids like staying on property, so there's that expense, and they are used to doing the meals. I'll have to crunch numbers..... I like our more recent vacas where airfare was under $150/ea and everything was cheap or on points, LOL

HaHa! Apparently, my kids would agree about the meals. Last time we went, we got free dining and I thought it was way too much food and we are not a big meal family. I remember thinking it's a good thing I wasn't paying for the meal plan and it would be better to not have a ADR everyday to work around. The way I remember it, everyone agreed about it being too much food and a lot of trouble trying to eat everything, including 2 snacks. But the other day, we were reminiscing about that trip and both DDs agreed the meal plan was one of the best parts of the trip. WHAT? It was only 2 years ago, :rotfl:

Thank you, as always! We did get the "your application needs further review. If approved, you will receive your card in 7-10 days" message immediately after applying from logged in biz account, but then got the email about a decision by mail within 30 days after, so that made me nervous. We're trying to get the CIU since we have a huge $6200 charge to make, and could easily meet the higher SUB. We only hold one biz card - a CIP. Ugh, I guess we'll have to wait and see.
Recently some of us here are only getting a $3k CL on Chase business cards....Hopefully the CL you get on the CIU is high enough or you can move credit from your other business card

Should I reduce my CLs on my Amex biz cards before applying for another amex card? (or does that only apply for Chase?)

Check your Amex Platinum offers:) I got $50 off $50 at BestBuy.com 2x and $50 off $50 at Home Depot.com 2x. Also got Home Chef.
I don’t have offers on my (new) Amex Plat, or Gold.
But I found a way to view all 100 offers on Amex mobile app: Membership (at bottom) > Explore All Card Benefits > Amex Offers > Explore Offers. Sounds harder than it is.
Handles selecting offers better by just expanding in-line where it is (not returning to top of offer list), and has the option to only show ‘new’ offers.

ETA: How do I refresh the mobile app?

I came here to buzz about the new Amex offers. I’m a new plat holder also and nothing. But P2 got the spend $500 get $25 back on his BBP. I’m hoping it will work to pay $500 installments on college tuition. One thing in the fine print is payments through third parties won’t count. Any idea on if it will work when the college uses an online company to process payments? I will probably try once and see, but thought I’d ask anyway. It does say allow 90 days after offer expiration which isn’t until June, so if it doesn’t credit right away I’ll be left wondering.
It won’t work. My son’s college doesn’t accept Amex. I feel like I should have already known that. Guess I got my hopes up for nothing.:charac2:

Well my childrens' memories are from like 8 years ago. So our trips revolved character meals. And they remember those. But they will be 16 and 11 when we go. I'm not sure they'll want character meals. But they probably will want that of course, because hey, why not cost me more money, LOL

Just schedule 1 with the fab 5 and enjoy! 😁. Sorry, I love the character meals and planning for them, lol. My daughter is 6, though, so that makes it easier.

I don't think DS's takes Visa, which seems totally weird to me. I have run into a number of places that say no to American Express, but no Visa?

(MasterCard, American Express, or Discover - note that credit card payments are assessed a 2.75% convenience fee)

We last went when DS just turned 16 and I asked him if he had any special requests. He asked for Chef Mickey's breakfast because we had done that on every prior trip. It totally shocked me. I could not get a reservation and the only place I could get was Crystal Palace with Pooh. I asked him if that was acceptable and he said yes. Totally shocked me again. lol He did not give me any fuss with taking pics with all the characters and I am glad I did it. Then I felt bad because he knew how much money it was and he said I promise I will eat enough to get your money's worth. I finally had to tell him to stop eating before he made himself sick. lol He seemed relieved when I told him he was done. lol

Reading more about the best buy and home depot offers on reddit. Didn't realize both are online only, ship to home or store, not in store or in store pu.

Also lots of people on r/amex that spent over 100 in one BB transaction and got emails saying they'd used the offer and will get 100 credit. Seems to be working on physical mailed gc from BB. Unsure about e gift.

Nothing about hd yet other than lots of nest and smart bulbs being bought.

Didn't dive into r/churning as I wasn't up to it.

That's the only thing I can think to buy from HD. I really want the big Home Hub for my kitchen.

Help I just applied for the free IHG card and I got a "We need to review your request a little longer. We will let you know of our decision as soon as possible. Thank you for choosing the IHG Rewards Club Traveler Credit Card."

I dropped my CL on my freedom. I'm at 3/24 with my last Chase card being the Bonvoy on 10/29. I have the premier IHG card. And chase has always loved me (outside of my attempts to get the CIP when over 5/24).

Happy New Year all!

I have stayed off and spend time with the in laws in Kansas.

For AMEX offers shouldn’t the offer go away if you use it? In my saved offers I have the $100 DELL credit but I used it back in August....I see the transaction and the credit...should I try and use it a second time since it still shows up there?

Yep, I remember a few of y’all stating about the low CL’s. I think as long as we’re approved then I can shuffle CL from the CIP, or just try to make the charge in two different payment cycles if they’ll allow me. My foremost concern at the moment is approval. If we can’t get approved for a biz card, I don’t really have a backup plan for this spend :-/ Not really looking to get any personal or AF cards at the moment. Down the road we want to get a Hyatt card and another Hilton card (biz maybe?) but that’s for travel in 2023 and so I was planning to do those towards the end of this year.

so the BBP $25/$500 offer, should work if I pay my property taxes in $500 chunks?

Does your county allow partial payments? Ours don't.

There's speculation that you'll get multiples of the offer in one transaction (i.e. $1000 you'd get $50) since it's worked liked that for some other offers that were multiple use. I'm waiting for DPs to come out. :)

I have three boys (all young adults now) and honestly this is one reason I have continued to plan character meal buffets--they can eat as much as they want. My kids are all still okay with taking the character pictures, and to me, it's still one of the special things about a Disney trip.
