I hated PHX Centurion hahaha. I ended up there at lunch time a few months back and while my wait was only like 5 mins I was seated in the main food area and it smelled like rotten fish. I went for the other meat dish and it was so dried out it was one step short of being jerky. There were a couple obnoxious groups of adults and when a platter of cookies came out a person from each group went and filled up some plates with them leaving very little for anyone else. I left after 10 mins, between the bad food, crazy people and horrible fish smell it's the only time I've ever left a lounge because I was more miserable there than in the terminal.

Glad to hear breakfast is better. I'd crossed that particular lounge off my list lol!

PHX was one of the few i really liked. the one i really dislike atm is SFOs. its small and the food kinda sucked. ive been to SFO, LAS, PHX, SEA and DEN so far.

Sea is getting it's expansion or whatever it is soon.

My AA miles from the 5x promo are showing up on the SimplyMiles website. :cheer2: They haven't made their way over to AA yet though.

Wish I'd donated more lol.

The Best Buy offer tracked even though I bought GC and the charge got split up. Got more miles than I anticipated too. 🤞 it actually makes it over to AA.

Don't see the 5x for Target yet. Hopefully it'll post later.

ETA: I see the Target charge didn't post until the next day. So probably missed out on 5x for that one.

Anyone have experience using hotel points (esp IHG) for a sleep/park/fly package? We are flying to St. Thomas in March at 6 AM out of CLE which is an hour away. It would make more sense to go up the night before and stay at a hotel close to the airport and leave our car there, but when I check the websites, it only gives options to pay with real money (lol), or a combo of points/money. I also have enough points to book at another brand with Chase points but don't see the option for the parking packages.
Not IHG, but booking with points was an option for the Hampton I used for a Park/Sleep/Fly package near O'Hare in April. The point value wasn't there for me so I booked cash, but it ended up only costing me $30 for the hotel room over what it would have cost me to park at ORD.

The one in PHL is pretty nice. DD says the one in DFW was the nicest one she's been to. SFO isn't the best, but so much better than waiting at the gate.

Yeah I didn’t know how to rate it considering I have no basis for comparison. The food was definitely underwhelming, but it was nice sitting in our own private little corner of the lounge rather than the gate. When I told DH they are going to start charging $50/guest he was like “no way, not remotely worth it.” Either way we made it to the Grand Wailea, which has been wonderful. Beautiful property, and every one has been incredibly helpful and welcoming. Love it so far.

SW prices are through the roof. I can’t believe I am actually looking at Spirit flights. But for unless $300 round trip that seems reasonable to MCO. Are anyone have experience with them?

Leg room is atrocious (worst in industry) and customer service is terrible. I will never fly Spirit (or Frontier). Plus they nickel and dime you.

I flew them once. This is before the PlanePrincess came to being. The seats were filthy, the flight attendant was miserable and there were extra fees for everything you could imagine. If they could charge you extra for breathing, they would. The $300 RT you are looking at is likely to wind up costing more when all is said and done. I have never flown them again, it would have to be a last resort. I'd actually consider positioning simply to avoid flying on Spirit.

I have several CVS offers too, do you recall if they sell only specific denomination cards, or can you get the cards and add whatever value you choose?

I am not sure. I never made it there as planned. If I go today, I will let you know what I see.

speaking of park/sleep/fly..... Does Hyatt ever offer this? Would I need to call in?

I'm sometimes a terrible points junkie - I haven't used the $200 travel credit on P1 or P2's AmEx Plat cards. For people who have been using two credits, do you just book them separately and then call to link the reservations?

I'm hoping to just take a weekend trip somewhere. Are there any good suggestions. I was looking at Vegas and found a couple places that have rooms around $260-$270 a night which didn't seem bad considering the $200 credit, for a nice hotel with breakfast included. I wasn't even sure where else to look that the hotels wouldn't be super high. I'd imagine it also somewhat depends on time of year which we'd be very flexible on. I need to hunt around a bit more today and then get something booked!

I want to cancel and rebook something else as well, but I was worried Amex would clawback the credit from the original booking and not reapply it to the new booking. Anyone have any DPs on this?

Unfortunately the clock is really winding down here…
I booked a trip for 4th of July got the 200$ since my kid wasn't vaccinated we decided to cancel it, rebooked a trip for new years even a few days later (was cheaper) and they didn't claw back the credit. I think if you do it in the same statement cycle it won't get killed.

we were able to do this by emailing the hotel we did this right before the situation happened.

Well I feel like I accomplished a bunch credit card hacking in the last week or so. I paid the AF on the CSR. I used $100 at Kroger, $200 on Delta gift cards (at Kroger). Then rushed through BF's GE application and got that credited back. Called today and switched to the FF so I have cell phone protection again (since IHG is losing it). I also used my $50 off $250 at Lowes today. Go me!

I'm gonna be the Spirit Cheerleader since I mean, the BF is a captain. Everyone says they nickel and dime you. Sorry but Delta, AA, United, etc will charge to pick seats, checked bags (unless you have the CC) and some even won't allow free carry-ons. The seats, I don't recline anyways, so to me, they all are the same on my butt. Meaning my butt will go numb in a delta seat after 4 hours too. Plus no recline means no jerk in front of me reclining onto me. Legroom, I mean, now that I'm flying w/ him and get the captains GF upgrade (LOL), I either have my own row, exit row or big front seat, LOL. But to be honest, at 5'7 I don't see much difference between space these days. Just know to bring water and snacks (which I do on any airline). Know the size for a personal item (I have a suitcase that fits it). And know that if you get a gate agent on a power trip, you will only be allowed ONE personal item. Meaning no backpack AND purse (gate agents aren't Spirit employees, fyi). Otherwise, they have the newest fleet of planes, a high "on time" rate, etc. And TBH, if my BF flies your flight, he lands the smoothest EVER, LOL.

I;m glad you reminded me about that...I need to go switch from IHG too!

Here are a couple of tools from r/churning people have created to help find some of the lower cost hotels. I think you're referring to the FHR credit, right? I think there are two links in this one thread you might find useful.

for those of you just going from 5 to 4/24 how many days do you wait between actual dropoff date and app'ing?
