To me that's too much esp with the sconces and pulls. If you tire of it you'll hate it all not just a faucet.

Are there any other options in silver you like that aren't chrome or is it the faucet etc you like and those are the two color options you like?

Picking that stuff out can be so hard. Like this style but it's not the right finish etc.
I think I like shiny if I go silver. So polished Nickel is another option and it's warmer than chrome.65349881-17D2-4648-A8C1-7F93CFD8E503.png

I’m considering the elevated Alaska Airlines biz card for 60k pts, $3k MSR. Can anyone advise on data points re: approval?

It’s been a looong time (10+ years?) since I’ve had a BOA card, personal card, that is. Does BOA do biz support links?

I like that one. It looks kinda shiny in the picture but it's hard to tell. I will say our shiny faucet in the bathroom gets very unshiny with toothpaste and things.

But do the one you will like the most or the one you'll like the longest, hopefully they are the same :)

Happy to see dining remains for CSR. I use it exclusively for dining out, book all travel via CSR and then erase the equivalent amount in dining charges. I was hurrying to offset last week's Virginia trip charges before the end of the month just in case.

I agree Away is an odd option, so limited.

The other thing I like about the dining remaining is I like to use it to PYB for eating out on vacations. It's one cost that's hard to cover with rewards otherwise.

I am looking for some advice regarding SW and their CP. We will probably be flying a combination of SW and another airline for our 2024 Hawaii trip so I was planning on DH and myself getting SW cards and earning CP's. I know it is better to earn the CP at the beginning of the year so you can use it for almost two years but we will not be flying SW in 2023 and have not thought about 2025 vacations yet.

Looking at the prior information when SW has released their schedules for August it has varied from year to year but early December seems to be when they open up flights for the first part of August. If the flight schedule is released in December and I want to book flights right away and use the RR points earned from the cc's I would be earning the CP's in the end of 2023. If I want to wait to earn the CP's in the beginning of 2024 and I transfer some UR's to SW to book DH's and my tickets would I have a problem using the CP later to add flights for our children or do I need to reserve their seats at the same time as we book ours? I do not want to transfer more UR's than I would need since we do not fly very often.

Since we probably will not be flying on SW in 2023 or 2025 I just need to figure out the best timing for getting the cards and CP's to use for Hawaii. Thanks for any thoughts.

You’ve already received good advice. In regards to timing, you have two main options:

1. Apply in early 2023.
Advantage: have CP for 2023 and 2024. You’ll have your RR points in hand when the August 2024 schedule is released.
2. Apply in very late 2023 or early 2024, but don’t hit spend until 2024.
Advantage: have CP for 2024 and 2025.
Disadvantage: You won’t have your RR points from the cc when the schedule releases, so you will need to use URs. Minor chance the flight will become booked before you can add the kids as companions.

Sounds like you don’t have any SW points needs in 2025, so it seems to me you are wasting URs just to have RR sit there idle in a few months.

If it fits with your other cc planning, I personally would opt for option 1.

FYI, you book the companion ticket AFTER you book your ticket. You can do it immediately after, or anytime before the flight, as long as there is ANY seat available. It doesn’t have to be the cheapest (Wanna Get Away) fare category,

You mentioned considering another airline for Hawaii, so you may want to look at Alaska and their CP.

Yay, I'm all caught up! I see I missed a couple conversations that I would have normally chimed in on.

I can't remember who posted (glamorgirl?) but I would not recommend a LV suitcase as a carryon. I had LV soft luggage pieces, and I never traveled with it. It was VERY heavy when full (and even when not so full), and I was always worried about it making me a target. The only time I used it was for car trips when we were going directly somewhere both ways. I eventually got rid of it on RealReal (and recouped quite a bit of my cost, LOL). I bought a Rimowa recently that has filled that Louis void, LOL.

Re the Clear discussion: we recently did our biometrics as well and it was super easy. One tip I read about on one of the miles sites ... if you have a UA Mileage account (or Delta?) you can go through a link on their website for a reduced price that will allow you to get a Clear membership for yourself and a family member for right around the Amex credit amount. DH and I each have Platinum cards so we did ourselves through the UA link (separately) and then each added one of our kids. The Amex credit was super fast and covered the entire amount.

I also have a question. Between DH and I we have a ton of premium cards with lost of benefits/credits to keep track of (2 amex platinums, 1 amex business platinum, 1 aspire, 1 gold, 2 CSRS.. etc!) . I have an excel spreadsheet but it isn't very good and it's getting unwieldy. I seem to recall that one of the bloggers had a pretty good spreadsheet, but I can't find it now. Does anyone know what I'm talking about or have a link to a good tracker? Thanks!

I was all set to get a Rimowa carry-on when our trip got canceled and we stopped traveling. Now they are even more expensive, but I find myself looking at them whenever I pass the store. Do you like yours? I know a couple people who love theirs, but I'm still waiting since I don't have many trips planned at this point.

Anyone want to give me opinions on bathroom fixture finishes? Can’t decide between champagne bronze and chrome. Tile is a porcelain that looks like calacatta gold marble. View attachment 608931View attachment 608932View attachment 608933

I just wanted to chime in because we have these exact fixtures in our master bath! (We built our house about 6 years ago and DH let me pick all the fixtures). We have all chrome plumbing fixtures in the house, and both nickel and chrome lighting fixtures and cabinet pulls. I really like the chrome, but the champagne bronze would be pretty with your countertop. I don't think you'll go wrong no matter which you choose. Good luck!

Just stumbled onto this thread and looking for advice! I hope it's appropriate to this conversation!

Is the Disney Visa worth it JUST to use for discounts? I'm thinking of a solo trip either at the beginning of December 2021 or January 2022 and no general public promos have been made available! I'm wondering if it would be worth opening just for that. And any discounts while I'm at WDW. I wouldn't consider it a day-to-day credit card as I have others I'd rather use for that. Thoughts?

If you have a Chase checking account, you can request a Disney debit card that has the same benefits.

There are much higher sign up bonuses out there. Such as the Chase Sapphire Preferred, which is worth $1250. If you were getting into the credit card game, I'd say the Disney card is not worth it. But it doesn't sound like you are. If you aren't going to be opening any other cards anyways, maybe it is worth it to you.

We don’t use our Disney visa much but we do use it when we’re actually there. When you spend over $50 in most of the shops you get 10% off and also 10% off at a lot of dining locations. We’ve also found the lines for the photo spots dedicated to Disney Visa card holders are usually a lot shorter and you get the downloads for free which is nice if you don’t have an AP or don’t purchase memory maker.

Now that's some advance planning! 😀 Love it.

I often book flights without adding my CP at that moment, so that I can easily change my plans around (harder to do when there's a CP attached to your ticket). The risk, of course, is that a seat will disappear while you're waiting. That has happened to me before, where the seats were sold out on a particular flight. But I obsessively checked the SW website, fully prepared to cancel my plans (since I couldn't leave DD home by herself) and when I saw a spot open, I snagged it.

Part of the decision, I think depends on how many flights are available on that route on that given day. If there are 20, that's different than if there are only 4, since with a limited supply the chance is greater that seats will be sold out.

Since 2024 is a ways away, you could look at getting as many URs as possible in the meantime so that you have enough URs to transfer to SW and book for everyone. Then after you've gotten your CP, cancel the children's flights and get those RRs back. Yes, you'd be left with RRs instead of URs, but I personally see RRs and Hyatt points as the best value for URs anyway. Especially if you have a CP.
Thank you for the information. Since I have never had a CP I was not sure how it all worked. The current flight cancelations with COVID make it difficult to know what flights will be available in the future and hard to compare availability. Since Hawaii will be a carefully orchestrated once in a lifetime trip with my mom I do not think I want to take a lot of risk with the flights.

We were planning to do an Alaskan cruisetour in 2021 and Hawaii with 3 years of timeshare points in 2023. Then Alaskan cruises were canceled and we were forced to move everything out a year or two.

Thank you for your thoughts and information on the CP. I think I am leaning towards option 1 but I wanted to make sure that I was not missing something.

I have been looking at Alaska and Hawaiian Airlines also. The problem is I have too many choices and I am trying to figure out which will be the best choice. I would love to fly first class for my mom but with 5 or 6 people that would take way more points than I could earn and there are no direct flights currently from the Washington, DC area. I am not sure if the cost for first class would be worth it for a 5 or 6 hour flight.

I’m considering the elevated Alaska Airlines biz card for 60k pts, $3k MSR. Can anyone advise on data points re: approval?

It’s been a looong time (10+ years?) since I’ve had a BOA card, personal card, that is. Does BOA do biz support links?
I don't have an Alaska Airlines card, but I did open a BoA biz card in May with instant approval. It was even a duplicate of another biz card that I still have open, so now I have two of them. But I do already have other BoA cards and a checking account with them, so that might play a part.

I'm not aware of any support links for BoA.

I love it! Haven’t had it long but I got the compact aluminum and it’s great because it still fits a ton but is noticeably smaller (less likely to get pulled at gate when space is tight) and it opens partially to be able to take things out.

They are such pretty fixtures!

I got an email out of the blue yesterday from Chase saying they increased the CL on my CIC. Went from $5k to 8.5K. The card has only been open 10 months. Wonder if they’re getting more generous with CLs for new biz cards?

She can actually try for retention already (assuming she didn't get one last year). Some have been getting them early. Best I've seen lately is 55-60k MR for $4000 spend.

If she's open to business cards, a BBP will also hold her MRs with no AF. As a last resort, she could also get the card with no SUB, but you'd still get the support.

I did not know this......might be a perfectly fine avenue to go down.

She could also do the BBP would she not just run into the same pop up issue there or is pop up only on the personal side.

:sad::sad::sad::sad::sad:
Really thought I had a PlayStation 5 today. Had it in my cart. Rookie mistake. When I went to pay I wasn’t logged in. Of course whatever my saved Target password wasnt correct.
By the time I logged in they were gone.
I can’t believe I forgot to log in. They dropped right as we need to get ready and leave for school so I was constantly refreshing while brushing kid teeth and wiping faces.
So sad! I was really hoping to grab it for our 20th anniversary nice month for DH.
🤞🤞🤞I can at least get it for Xmas if not by our anniversary.

In 2 weeks Target should drop again (basically always now Friday morning).....another tip would be to use Paypal to check out.....it is processed differently and it makes the checkout process easier. Good luck it seems that a lot more people had success this morning so its possible they are getting ever so slightly easier to get.

I vote for the silver tone. We just added 2 bathrooms as part of a home addition and I find that the chrome is neutral and kind of "invisible". The gold is more of a style statement which, if that's what speaks to you, go for it! If you get tired of any of it, just think that in a few years, new fixtures will cover a new MSR!
