Just wanted to share here - if anyone has an MR-earning card linked to their Amazon account, check your Amazon account. They are running a targeted promo of 50% off your entire order of qualifying items sold and shipped by Amazon if you use one (1) MR point at checkout. This works for regular purchases and physical gift cards but not e-gift cards (also some other things like Prime video purchases and I think Amazon GCs). I got a $100 Lowe’s and $25 Container Store GC for $64.99 and 1 MR. Max savings of $60, offer expires 6/23 or until a certain number of people redeem the offer.

Where do you see this on your account?

Sometimes I think I hate Amazon.

A dress I put in my cart yesterday for $69 is $175 this morning. This has happened before so I just saved it for later.

But, if the MR offer showed up, I was ready to buy. Now I gotta wait til it drops again. Which it will.

And, some of the stuff that gets delivered: DD ordered a new Takeya water bottle. It arrived, dented and scratched and dirty (used) paper label still on it. With water inside it. I took it to UPS right around the corner and DD had forwarded the email for the return. Open the email, get an error message. Had to go back to UPS a 2nd time to return it once she showed me how to get the thing scanned.

Meanwhile I've got gift cards and a few other things sitting in the cart. Just in case.

Thanks to the replies about college tuition and credit cards. I just checked with my kids' college and they don't take credit cards at all! What a bummer! It would have been so nice if I could charge their tuition, room and board!

Any suggestions on a first credit card for them? They are currently AU on my amex plat, amex gold, hyatt visa and freedom MC. I probably should cancel some of their AU accounts, right? Thanks in advance.
My boys started with the school credit union....that was before I was more savvy! My DD started with Discover her Freshman year, Freedom her junior year, SW her senior year and now has a CSP for graduation!
I wouldn't worry about the AUs unless they are all really recent.

Our first trip in a year in a half is a bust. My sister was going to watch our dog for two days while we are camping. She has been around the dog a few times and stopped over the last few days to make sure he was ok with her.
When she arrived at our house last night the dog was very aggressive and she felt too scared to even open the door.
Thankfully, we are only about 85 minutes away but still. DH went home, spent the night and is coming back up today. We will probably spend the day swimming and leave early this evening instead of tomorrow.
I told DH he needs to board the dog from now on and get him more socialized. I’m not going to cancel traveling bc he bought a dog that thinks he is a guard dog.

Is your dog dog/people aggressive or just aggressive in terms of guarding "his property"? This sounds like something that you should get a trainer involved. Aggressive dogs are going to be hard to board.

This brings back (unwanted) memories of 14+ years with an overeager chihuahua mix,and the high cost of finding dogwatchers for her over the many vacations...since she pretty much hated everyone and everything in the world except her own family (sometimes not even us) and boarding her was out of the question due to her insane nature.... :rotfl2: We found someone who "understood" her needs, but it cost a pretty penny every time we took a trip! Not sad that part of our lives is over....

Well I hit the FD on the way to the beach this afternoon. I only did 1-$200 load as the woman behind me was LITERALLY up my ***! If I turned around, I swear I’d be close enough to kiss her. I’m not a germaphobe. And it has nothing to do w/ 6’ spacing. Rather, I don’t even want my kids that close to me, LOL.

So after I got my dose of the sunset, I hit WM (the only place still open), and loaded another $200. So for today I did $400 total. I have $1600 to still get rid of before I head home. I’m debating if I want to buy $1k more before I go. The Serve max for a month is $5k, right?

Where did you see this?

I feel this! I booked my AA ticket and I was too lazy to grab my CSR for the $11 fee, so I just used my AA card which was on file. Though from what I read, I don’t think Chase would have paid to put me on a different flight Monday. I’m sorry you are stuck.
Yes the Serve max is $5k a month

Oh, wow! So sorry! Do you have any dog parks near you or friends that you could have doggie play dates? Luckily, Puggles is way too friendly and needs to say hi to everyone. He’ll go up to my neighbor’s front door looking for her 2 Yorkies to come out and play just like a little kid.
My older Boston Terrier is like this. He ran out of the yard once to meet one of our neighbors walking their dog. The person was terrified (at this small dog running at them, lol), but my dog doesn't have a mean bone in it's body and I knew he just wanted to meet the guy and his dog. And that he did! I always say, he'd greet a robber trying to break into our house.

I second the trainer advice. Our younger Boston Terrier also is what people might get confused as "aggressive". He would snap at dogs on walks, and bark at each and every person that passed us on a walk and his hair would stick up on his back. However, through training we've discovered it's aggression because of fear. He was so scared of other dogs and people (because he hasn't met many strange dogs or people), that that's how he would react. So we've had to socialize him with many people and dogs through training and daycare over the past few months, and now he's a lot better and will go right up to meet another dog and will walk right past a person, completely fine. He will still bark at a stranger coming to the house and try to defend the house, but I want that.

Anyone have any experience or opinions on this Lyft Pink offered by Chase Reserve? With
this rental car shortage/prices Im thinking about using Uber or Lyft for upcoming WDW/Universal
trip. I'm sure the fees will come in lower than the 650 car rental.

Do you buy things sold by Amazon?

Yes. This was sold and shipped by Amazon, plus we are Prime. This was sold as a 'new' item. Neither my daughter or myself would buy a 'used' $25 water bottle online to drink out of.

I also bought a kitchen storage container a couple of weeks ago. Arrived with a gouge and a crack down the side. Supposed to be a new item.

The wrapping was perfect. I'm pretty convinced it wasn't damaged in transit - just thrown into the box damaged to start with. They sent a new one that was perfect and had me dispose of the original.

I love love love Amazon and i have far more hits than misses with them. BUT with the misses they
are not little which is very irritating. For example bought a nice brand NEW vacumn. Went to put
it together and noticed hair in the filter. Ordered brand new luggage for our Hawaii trip last month.
Opened to inspect it cosmetically it looked great. Night before our trip while packing I noticed the tsa
locks were missing. Ugh

99% percent of time no problems at all and I do only order from shipped and sold by Amazon. I have
come across shady 3rd party sellers so unless they have 100 % feedback and sold many items....I avoid.

Question about universal tickets booked with UR through the portal. I changed my dates slightly after booking our 4 day dated tickets, but we still fall within the use days (It states tickets are valid June 26-July 2nd). We won't be picking them up now until June 29th, but will use the 29th, 30th, 1st and 2nd. Does anyone anticipate a problem with not picking them up on the 26th? I just checked and to cancel and rebook would cost me about 50,000 points more because they had a buy two days get two free promo when I got them and it's no longer offering that.

Okay one more FD question before I plan out how much more in VGCs I buy before I leave, LOL. If I pass 5 different FDs on my way back to the airport tomorrow, can I plan on being able to load $500 at each? I have $1600 in my wallet right now. I’m hoping to do $400 on the way to the beach (the FD is just before getting on the island). Then $400 when I come off to grab lunch. Perhaps another $400 on the way back onto the island after lunch, LOL. Then $200 tonight at WM again (Since they are open late and across the street from my hotel). My Staples NEVER has VCG anymore. I use these offers to run up my Hilton Surpass to get the FNC (I have other automatic bills like car insurance on my Hilton too…so it gets spends on it too). I think I’m about $9k away from the 15k right now. I know I’ll have at least 2-3k in normal spend on it between now and the end of the year. So the more I can knock out this week the better, LOL.

Lyft is just like Uber. My CSR offer actually ends tomorrow w/ Lyft. I’m hoping it doesn’t auto-renew. Does anyone know? You just get more points back for using Lyft and a slight discount. I’m not one who ride-shares much, but I normally would check Uber then Lyft and pick the cheaper of the 2. Of course JUST before I got to Vegas (on Monday) my Lyft Pink expires, LOL.

Hi guys, I know I'm late to the party, but I just got the CSP offer email for 100K bonus. I used to churn cards semi regularly, but its been a while. I have had a CSP in the past. Is there a way to check when I got my last bonus? Also, my husband has a CSR. Can he refer me for additional points or does it not work like that? Thanks!

I agree with the comment above - compare Lyft and Uber prices. Sometimes Uber is cheaper even after the Lyft Pink discount. When I was in Disney in April and earlier this month, I found that Lyft had much better driver availability than Uber did. That said, there’s pretty much a nationwide shortage of Uber/Lyft drivers, so don’t be surprised if you’ve got a 15-20 minute wait for a driver. I got lucky and my wait times were pretty normal (under 10 minutes). And sometimes you’ll encounter surge pricing (I’ve especially seen this at MCO, although it didn’t happen for me), where what’s normally a $35-40 ride is more like $75-80.

I think most will say Credit Karma is your best bet to see when you last had it. But you nee 4 years from the time you got the bonus, not the credit card. Also no, the CSR can’t refer….I have that one. UGH.

Wow that’s really bad. We never usually have issues with things sold by Amazon. Sometimes when it’s sold by a third party but even then I feel like we’ve had pretty good luck with things

I agree with everything @iujen94 says. Uber/Lyft combo is a great option for the parks- I think you'll love it. There's way less stress for you not to have to park and navigate. Do compare prices, they can be drastically different. Uber might be surging while Lyft is not. I have an upcoming international trip where we'll be using Uber exclusively and I plan to remind myself that we'd have to spend something like $150-180 per day on Uber to meet the cost of a rental for our large party. It's just shifting your mindset. It's kind of like when people buy the dining plan at Disney because it's a fixed cost (car rental) versus buying food incrementally (Uber/Lyft). It will probably cost you way less to Uber/Lyft, but psychologically it can feel like you are constantly paying for transportation.

I actually bought some Uber GCs with a discount and when I had the 10x Amex Plat on "groceries." I plan to preload these on our Uber accounts, and perhaps psychologically that will help, as well.
