Went to buy tickets to the Georgia Aquarium for Saturday (trip to see Georgia Tech) and they had no tickets before 4:30 except for 8 AM. Glad I didn't wait any longer.
I don’t remember if I already recommended these, but eat at Antico and Taqueria del Sol!

Well 4th time was not a charm. DD and I cancelled our April trip. The comfort level was just not enough, being this close to the light at the end of the tunnel. But, we rebooked for the end of October so we can ride Remy!!! I was, all at the same time, nauseated and wanting to cry, and relieved and excited, all at the same time. I"m sure it's going to be insanely busy but oh well. Other option was early August, but that would not have Remy and the last several trips have been in the August heat...so I thought this might be better. Costing me a ton in DVC points, since I had to go up in villa size, to get something, but again, oh well.
Now I have DVC points that I can use that will expire in September, anyone need any LOL?
And now I can modify my Delta flight and get that 2500 bonus miles LOL.

You have a an amazing upbeat attitude....so sorry you had to cancel again...we are also going the end of October and expect it to be busy it’s our rescheduled family trip from last year....with a first visit for our new granddaughter so it will definitely be a different kind of trip and I’m super excited to offer to watch her while her parents do all the rides

Gotta be upbeat right? LOL, didn't mention my Delta flights will be almost triple in miles, yikes!!! That 2500 won't make a dent LOL. The thought of being that close to riding Remy, with it not open yet, was too much.

So what was the point of using my suite nights for a room upgrade at the Royal Hawaiian if they were going to charge me 8k points???? I’ll deal with it in the am after I pack.

So, P2's second CIC has arrived. I don't really have a need for multiple cards, but I guess I'll let him carry one.

Logged into my Paypal account tonight to check a closed case and noticed this promo. Get paid $5 via QR and they'll give me $50. Sounds great to me.

ETA: looks like you might be able to check if you're targeted with this link: https://www.paypal.com/us/webapps/mpp/enroll/qrc-offer-50
I pasted it into the browser logged in P2's account and it says "exclusive to selected customers"

FYI, be careful with Paypal. My client paid her invoice and they pulled extra money from her, $160 extra. She filed with her bank which prompted Paypal to open a case against me. I only received her invoice amount, nothing extra yet they wanted to chargeback on me for the full amount. The case was obviously, as it should have been, decided in her favor by her bank, but according to Paypal since I am a valued customer they've decided not to deduct the amount from me. In January I had another client in the same scenario, where Paypal pulled extra money from her customer and then did a chargeback against her. I'm in the process of shifting all of my business to other payment processors.

Off-topic tax questions... We're trying to better balance our taxes for next year with the new child credits. Am I correct in that these are not extra payments going out but rather a slight increase in credit that will be partially sent out early in monthly installments? Meaning we might owe/have to pay back these credits if we don't adjust our withholdings appropriately? It sounded great at first considering we still pay a boatload for childcare but then I reread it and it sounds like it's just more of a headache for us.

Check and compare rates on Autoslash. Check back once or twice a day until to your trip for lower prices, and cancel and rebook. Go through a portal when booking with Priceline. Pay with your CSR for primary car rental collision damage waiver coverage and 3x UR.
Autoslash worked! Thank you so much...Got 5 days in April for $364 (about 200 less than Chase UR quoted price). Like you mentioned, I can cancel it. I just couldn't figure out how to use a portal because I'm clicking on the link in an email I got from Autoslash, which takes me directly to Priceline.

I think that's my understanding too. I have one who qualifies so he goes from $2,000 to $3,000 but half that will be paid out monthly starting in July. So I need to withhold $500 more (in my case I pay estimated taxes quarterly) to offset. I do think you have the option to opt out of the monthly payment.

And boy did people with a child turning 17 in 2021 luck out in that their child gets the $3,000 credit. Mine turned 17 last year and I got $500.

Anyone headed to WDW in March or April make sure you have your Disney Park Pass Reservations secured. Disney just notified TAs that due to Spring Break some days in March and April are no longer available for theme park reservations. Disney also mentioned that in particular MK and DHS are limited in availability.

I find it noteworthy because as far as I can recall Disney has not warned TAs of a lack of reservation availability. Spring Break is shaping up to be very busy so plan accordingly if you're headed to the World!
Thank you for this reminder. We have ours locked in but this begs another question. We have a POP reservation but also made an off site reservation b/c DS is bringing a buddy and we don't want all of us in closed quarters since it's not all family.
When I cancel POP, what happens to my park reservations? I've read conflicting things.

This morning I woke up and walked out my front door to check out the warmer weather! It is supposed to go to 75 or higher here today. If only after our two days of spring it would stay moderate and not head into the 90ties so fast!

Some Jonquils have opened up. It was supper nice to see their yellow glory. Too bad I hadn't moved them around as I had planned as they are kind of off kilter in the space.

Despite getting vaccinated yesterday, I have decided not to go to Hilton Head this weekend. Older daughter will take the grands and my other 'daughter' her friend, since we moved here when she was 10 years old, will go with her. We shortened the trip to 4 nights in the one bedroom - daughter's request, and I'm sure they will enjoy getting away.

Meanwhile, DD and myself and the grands made a few more reservations for summer. We are going to spend 3 nights in the Outer Banks in July using FNC. Maybe a night in Virginia Beach on the way as I haven't been there in ages. Between us we have 9 certs to use by August, so I may add another night to that. It's Townplace Suites but close to the water.

Marriott has upped the ante in (bonvoy'ed as @Lain would say) Ocean City, Maryland and Bethany Beach. Now all Category 6 and 7's for 60K plus points per night. I expect to see a few dates reduced to 55 or maybe even 50 as they don't fill the rooms as much as they hope. Or maybe they will kill the cash rates a bit. They obviously do well on weekends, but I've been watching this for years and the options have increased significantly and at high prices but you can always get a room. Hilton has added options, as has Marriott and others with about 10 newer hotels in less than 5 years. That is a lot for a seasonal area.

I'm using up my IHG points in July and doing Hyatt in June. As stated, Marriott outer banks in July also. So, now I'll focus on early April and May for a few nights.

I still can do OC if I feel like it as I've got a boatload of points, but I'm intent on using up all my FNC's first. Also, I've now got my stash of UR's for the Hyatt option. I'm blessed with options!

We have our QR codes for HI! Now just need to pack (and try on my new swimsuits.) I checked in this morning and it looks like our plane to HI changed. Thank goodness I looked since they had moved DH far from DS and me even though the seat in front of us was open. I am super excited! This time tomorrow we will be in the air!

I finally convinced DH to go to Universal in June. I actually got the vacation time approved.

This would be an extra trip so besides being able to cover most of the flights with points, I would have to pay cash for most of the trip.😱
Just can’t decide if we should go or not.

Anyone going to Universal in June?

I don’t know why I am hesitant. We have both been working and between lower daycare cost, stimulus $ and not doing much this year we have extra money. Maybe I am just worried about taking that leap back into traveling. We haven’t even eaten inside a restaurant in a year and we are going to go to FL? Seriously, I get DH to agree to a trip to Fl and I can’t seem to book it. What is wrong with me? Usually I’d have it booked the second he agreed.
Maybe bc it's hard to get back into these things...maybe you're still not comfortable with a whole lot of indoor time with crowd of strangers (I know I'm not yet)
