DD1 graduated in May 2019 and DD2 in May 2020. Last year we claimed DD1 because she was still living at home and didn't find her "real" job until 2020, so her earnings were low. This year, DD2 has a good job, so I'll have to see how everything shakes out, but I have been thinking about the stimulus payment - I assume she won't get it if we claim her, so that might end up making the difference since she'll get that if she claims herself.
For DD2 I’d see which way you and she get back the most $$....and yes if you claim her she wouldn’t get it

This is what we are hoping to do with DS21 and DD19. Going to check with our tax guy and see if it makes more sense to not claim them as a dependent. The only tax credit we would get from them is the College Tuition. Assuming they would get the tax credit instead, we would then just transfer what that $ amount would be to us and they would then get the stimulus money. Will see what our tax guy says and if it can be done that way.

They may not qualify to be claimed as dependents by you....if they are no longer students they aren’t a qualifying child and if they made over $4,300 in gross income they aren’t a qualifying relative.

If I remember correctly, they still qualify in the year they graduate because they were a student for at least 5 months in that year. DD1 will definitely be on her own this year (would not qualify to be our dependent even if she still lived at home), but I believe DD2 would still qualify since she went to school at least 5 months in 2020 and she didn't provide at least 50% of her support this year.

She has made a decent amount this year though, so if she qualifies for the stimulus payment by claiming herself, we'd probably come out ahead because of that if for no other reason.

I'm definitely no tax professional, but that's the way I understood it last year when I researched it.

Agree....she would qualify....i edited by post but not in time ...lol. in my head I had them both out of school for a year

Pulled the trigger on our return flights. HND-LAX on JAL biz class for 4. 77,250 Avios each, all transferred from MR. Easy come, easy go? With the uncertainty, I had wanted to use miles I already had instead of transferring, but Delta raised the number of miles on the Korean Air flights I had been waiting to open up. 50k instead of 40k for economy.

So we won't be going to Seoul, but think I'll add a couple days in Nagano to see the snow monkeys. :)

Nope. You just need to apply for the 2nd card on the next calendar day once this one is approved. That’s all - so don’t fret! Just watch for when this gets approved.
(After calling the status line more times than I’ll admit per day,) I just got approved for the CSP!

Tomorrow I attempt the second half of the MDD!

Fingers crossed...

Thanks! Is the $38 credit just good for breakfast in (I assume) the Calusa Restaurant? It looks beautiful!
Yes, the credit is for breakfast only in the Calusa. FYI, there is a $10 service charge (I think they call it) to your bill. The Calusa is nice!

Soooo..... I have a few questions re: UR- CSR-PC'ing...hope it's appropriate to ask here vs. the other place....
#1- I want to PC my CSR- I'm just not traveling right now, I'm looking to cut all unnecessary costs in life too. I have been using PYB -and it's been fun...but not so much anymore as I"m saving some for (whenever) I get to travel again.
All of our (2 player) UR go into this acct- if I PC to a CFF, my points stay the same (right?) but what if I have a PYB credit hanging there when I pc- does it just move to the CFF?
#2- I want P2 to get CSP- it shouldn't be an issue to pool all UR onto that after I deal with my stuff, right? I usually have no problem with it all in my acct up till now.
#3- I have some costs left on my CSR that I can PYB,my thinking is this. I used the TC and doordash credit already, plan to use the last of my PYB (will then have that credit left since balance is $0)......... should I PC to a no fee,or CSP (P1)?
#4- if I PC to a CSP now, can I later PC again to a no fee card,or is it only once I can do this?(not sure I want to,If P2 gets CSP now, I will need to finagle that MSR)
Any and all advice appreciated. (I know I can PC back to a CSR at some later point in time if desired, I just am not using it to the full right now)

I used Samsung pay for a few months and then forgot about it so not an issue for me.

Lol!! Maybe my DD will take the S10! Anyway, the S21 Ultra 5G is $1199 on Xfinity Mobile (which runs on Verizon and we've been using for about 3 years) and right now they have a $400 promo. Plus the remaining $15/month credit on my Biz card. The S21+5G is $999 with the same $400 promo.

So, that is actually what I was looking at, but the old 'as soon as I upgrade something new happens' is hitting me. But the S21 effectively would be 1199 minus $400 minus $150 minus whatever I sell the S10+ for = Max price of about $450. and could be $250. The $999 phone could be as low as $50.

One thing is certain - in one year my S10+ will be worth .....nothing!
It's all perspective :rotfl2: my DS recently bought the s10...I LOVE that thing...what a fantastic camera !

About to apply for the CSR... I have two options. “Apply as a guest” or “Sign in to apply faster”

Does it matter which I choose?
