Applied for CSP this AM as part of my planned MDD.

Got a message saying they need more time and they’ll let me know.

Called status line and it says 2 weeks.

Should I call in and get them to push it through? If so, does anyone have that # handy?

This doesn’t seem to bode well for approval of Pt 2 tomorrow...

Confused as over a week ago I downgraded my CSR and reduced credit lines to be well under 30%. My reported income was higher than when I’ve applied with Chase in the past (and auto-approved for the CSP and CSR, both 4+ years ago)...

Just to clarify - you are getting 1 cent per UR when using PYB for rental cars, right? You are factoring in the 3x UR you receive for paying with your CSR to get the 1.5 value? I haven’t though about PYB this way before tonight, and I just want to make sure I have the math correct.
I’m getting the 1.5 because I’m cashing out the restaurant, grocery, home improvement store charges that represent an equivalent amount of the rental car charge.

It's really up to you, I'd probably call in - be bold! Push it through, lol!

According to one comment on r/churning you may get the offer for the card level it was as of eligibility date (somewhere in Dec29 -Jan1, depends on the offer), as they got the $20 dining credit on a downgraded Aspire card. (If I'm understanding the comment correctly )
*just* when I was telling myself I was happy I could go back to my simple pre-COVID cc credits spreadsheet Amex rains cash down on us like Pokémon. New spreadsheet time! I gotta catch ‘em all!

Happy February Everybody, I am back from Disney and it's time to get my head back into churning!

I figured it's about time for a "State of Southwest" update since it has been awhile (sadly not much in the way of updates either...just a re-hash of what you may already know):
  • Southwest Airline's schedule is currently open through 8/16/2021; This extension happened on December 10th.
  • We still do not have a date for the next schedule extension. We normally would expect a release into fall travel dates by now but things haven't exactly been normal lately so who knows when they will release this information. Last year they moved the schedule through the end of October in mid-March.
  • Currently there are elevated offers on all of the Chase Southwest credit cards with a stated "apply by 2/8/2021" showing on the support links. ONE WEEK Left to take advantage of these offers. These offers were released on December 1st.
  • You can find some great info about the SW CP HERE on DISchurners and of course, please consider paying it forward to fellow DISers by using a Support Link (if you aren't a DISchurners member, you'll have to PM me to join to access either of those links
Here is a quick recap of the offers available:
1) Chase Southwest PERSONAL Cards; 3 options - Plus, Premier, Priority: Earn up to 80,000 SW RR points. Earn 50,000 points after spending $2,000 in the first 3 months PLUS, earn an additional 30,000 points after you spend $10,000 total in the first 9 months. This is an ALL-TIME HIGH offer on these cards but also requires a higher MSR than we've ever seen before. This is clearly stated as a "Limited Time Offer" on the landing page.
2) Chase Southwest PERFORMANCE Business Card - Earn up to 100,000 SW RR points. Earn 70,000 points after spending $5,000 in the first 3 months PLUS, earn an additional 30,000 points after you spend $25,000 total in the first 6 months. This offer does NOT say Limited Time, but the upper tier portion seems to come and go so it's possible it could decrease after 2/8.
3) Chase Southwest PREMIER Business Card - Earn 60,000 points after spending $3,000 in the first 3 months. This is the standard offer for this card and has not changed in some time.
Also of note: Typically the support links will live on past the stated expiration date by a week or two but no guarantees there.

With Southwest effectively reducing the points required for a CP to 100k, there are a lot of ways to approach these offers. You can potentially achieve a CP through just one card, you can of course MDD the personals. I'd say the only strategy to avoid is getting 1 personal and 1 business card - it just leaves you with the least flexibility down the line (much more info on this in the link I shared above!).

Good luck to anybody applying!

So happy to see the offers on my Amex Marriott cards!

$20/month on my Brilliant. = $240
$10/month on my regular legacy Bonvoy = $120
$15/month on my cell service on Amex Bonvoy Biz = $165

Makes Free nights really free and then some!

I especially like the cell service as I'm with Xfinity and my basic bill is approximately $18 a month to begin with.

I also liked several other offers - $15 off $75 on Wayfair and $20 off $100 on Boxed and the $50 off $100 on Rockets of Awesome, but I'm not sure I want to deal with that one.

Welcome back! It feels like you just left! Hope you had a great time!

I don't have any of the wireless, but if your wireless carrier allows you to make a partial payment, I would do that.

Great thinking! I actually have a card attached for ongoing insurance that I like. I'm going to try a partial payment for this month and see if it works.

Thanks. I assume safest thing is not to stack these? or is anyone going to try to use more than one on their phone bill per month?
So far I am the most risk adverse, it seems. I am definitely going to make partial payments. Current wireless is on CIC autopay for 5x UR. I am in AMEX pop up jail so not sure if stacking discounts will make them more angry or the same! I was worried they would claw back all credits if I tried to get $15 on my Marriott Biz and $10 on my Delta Biz. AMEX RAT scares me :rotfl2:.

Welcome back! It feels like you just left! Hope you had a great time!
It was an excellent opportunity to get away. I'm not exactly excited to get back to work today, but I'm rested and relaxed! We found a great mix of commando touring AND relaxation on this trip and prioritized nice full night's of sleep to keep energy up!

Rockets of Awesome - have you used them before? It's a subscription service so the $50 off $100 seems to be good only for one shipment of clothes. My 8 year old is going through a chunky stage and they don't have husky sizes so still trying to decide if I want to risk $20 on getting a box. I wonder about quality as well - you can get decent quality for relatively cheap and Old Navy and Children's Place have husky so this would have to be better than that. The best quality hands down is Lands End and their sales are spectacular especially the clearance with additional 30-50% off. All his bathing suits and swim shirts are from there.

My Hilton Surpass also has an offer for get 10k points for $5k spend up to 100k points. I believe (correct me if I'm calculating points earning incorrectly) 8x on restaurants, supermarkets, and gas and 5x on everything else, 14x if you have any Hilton visits. Is that a decent earn rate for Hilton points?

This was a nice surprise.

Can confirm the Hilton $5k/10k up to 100k is also available on the no-AF Hilton card.

Yes, about the children's clothing. I didn't realize it was subscription until I looked at it. I stopped midway through as there are so many other offers to plan out this morning, plus I was texting with daughter in Mexico to get her to add the offers to her cards.

I buy some clothes for the girls. And, other than a few outfits most of their clothing is disposable (also known as Costco, old navy, carters and all the usual suspects), so I'll maybe check this out. The girls were with me 3 nights last week, and Dad brought a huge bag of stuff. Since we weren't going anywhere, it was fine. But, I like to dress them nicely in normal times so that when I'm out with them, we don't look mishmash.

And strangely, I have a 4 and 5 year old who have definite opinions about what they like to wear. Wasn't expecting that so early. They like girly stuff.

Odd question - if Chase has to re-pull the credit report on an existing application, does that count as a second application?

Attempted MDD last week and was denied due to a high balance that was paid off in January. Was hoping to call recon back once the credit report was updated showing the payoff. I am wondering if having recon pull the credit a second time will mess up the MDD and whether I should just wait for the original application to fall off after 30 days.
