Nothing here yet. Maybe we can make it out to breakfast before it comes. Maybe I should go to the bakery now while DS is sleeping. Just in case. At least, I would have delicious lemon danishes to eat and a cocoa bomb I want to try.

Just heard back from DD. She has changed her flight to Tuesday morning. She couldn't have left this morning anyway as neither of the test results are back yet. Since she got the last one on Saturday afternoon, she should be good for the early Tuesday morning flight. Assuming she has results.

Now they are projecting the weather event to last through Tuesday here with refreeze overnight for Wednesday morning. Yuch. But Tuesday is supposed to be as high as 37, so the bit of snow will probably melt into an ice rink.

Edit: I advised her to try to do another antigen. That way she would have a back up in case of any other complication. She would still have to make an appt and get in but now she has the process down and can do it for $13.

Since chase started PYB, I book the car the way I want. For example, Budget on Costco with my Budget FB number. Then, I chose the equivalent charges to pay myself back that amount and consider it done. Still a 1.5 value. That way, I know I can go straight to my car and be covered by my CSR insurance.
Thank you! I didn’t realize I could simply enter my Budget FastBreak # in Costco and avoid the dreaded MCO counter like I can do with Alamo.

Wow, so she is still in Mexico? Yes, FL Keys it is.

and again, I spoke to soon, that email is not for my new CIU, so I am not sure on that date, but all of DH's emails say 4/10 so I will make sure to pay our taxes before that.
Just went through to see what taxes would look like and we'll owe this year. What service are people using to pay fed income taxes? I haven't owed in a while so I'm a newbie when it comes to paying Inc tax with a CC.

I used PayUSAtax this time. I've used Pay1040 in the past. They both are fine so I'd probably use PayUSAtax because it's a smidgen cheaper.

Seriously, international travel in not currently for the faint of heart. Judique's dd's tale makes me super anxious:(
I know. As much as I would love extra days in the Caribbean, DS is finally doing hybrid and needs to get to school.

On Friday, it was slightly stressful. Now, I'm more relaxed. She will get back, maybe not exactly on her terms.

She is more stressed out herself because her plans got upset. But, she did buy a nice pair of leather boots with a furry lining, that are not cowboy. Also, right now she is at a Courtyard, not a beach resort. Not quite as entertaining or delightful ocean view.

If her results come through today and I doubt it as I figure it's a weekend thing, she will fly out tomorrow at least to Dallas. The flight is super early so the results would have to come today.

I think for some of us it's ridiculous to travel, including my daughter. For me personally, it's probably ridiculous to go to Costco when I can do delivery for everything. But for some, the risk factor is not as serious, if time is not of the essence. The border restriction is the real hold up here. And it was announced long after DD made her plans and just a few days before her trip.

It seems to me that these travel restrictions do little but inconvenience a few people. People are still traveling freely all over this country which is a huge land mass with the highest rates in the world. We are past the point of requiring low risk folks to stay home, but not past the point of taking precautions and getting the shot.

To bring this back to credit cards, all this travel would probably be moot for a lot of people, if the rewards weren't so so tempting!

I was able to use the free service 1040 tax return.com on the IRS site last year since I'm in in between years with no withdrawals from my retirement accounts. It was fairly simple other than I left it til last minute and had to deal with slow internet response a few hours before the money was due. I easily paid with a credit card though.

I owe every year due to my military pension not being taxed. The amount due is really small so I keep it that way on purpose. I keep my money and don't have to ask for it back and the IRS gets most of theirs (98%) through my other incomes. When I have to take savings/retirement disbursements it will get more complicated.

Haven't received the physical card yet, have to spend $7500 to get the bonus points. I am not concerned about getting it, I believe it is a standard offer for anyone getting the card.
No card yet. I did add an employee card and transferred some credit from a CIP. So it is definitely a new account. I was hoping there will be the information when the card comes that explains the offer. It is weird. I’m sorry it happened to you too!

Ha I forgot about not having the card yet. I'm also hoping some support points will post (not mine) but I guess I'll have to wait and see about that too.

I did find the new card in my Chase account this morning, along with email notices that Chase pulled both Transunion and Experian--Ugh. Still no communication at all from Chase.

I think it's DCA after a quick look at AA flights. She's supposed to come in at 2:30pm. I didn't actually ask her - just asked who she was flying with and what time. She's in and out of all 3 airports. Our Sunday is 3 to 6 inches, and 4- 8 by the time it ends/changes over to rain on Monday. 10! Yikes!

Not sure what time she's getting to Dallas. She's not texting right now.

So far I'm still planning on Hilton Head for spring break. Mid March. Pretty sure I'm going. I think you will enjoy the Keys.

I am thinking about Hilton Head for March also. I am looking at a Marriott that I can use my free nights at. We have never been to HH before. Would also like to add a few nights in Savannah. I am going back and forth on waiting till March, moving it up to Feb because I’m tired of the cold and not going at all because I’m really not that comfortable traveling with the numbers being so high everywhere right now. Decisions decisions.

March should be warmer. We had beautiful weather last March. But, I've been in March where it rained a lot. Still, I would pick March over February. Which Marriott are you looking at?

A lot of DVC'ers are 'discovering' that they love Hilton Head this year. It's a nice, family place. Not at all like Myrtle Beach, although I liked MB; but prefer HH. It's freaking me out because the trend might continue and make it harder for me to get what I want. I work with a small amount of points and use my other points at 7 months. This year I was in for my week before others decided they didn't want to do WDW yet.

Don't be afraid to book a place not on the water as it's pretty easy to get to, with quite a bit of public access. But if you see it now for points ,get it. You can always cancel, but most of March will fill up, especially this year.

Edit: How will you travel? Fly or drive? Will you dine out or in?

We will drive, cook a lot, and do takeout or delivery, same as home, pretty much. The Disney resort villas all have outdoor exits and balconies so it's fairly easy to stay away from others, plus we will use our own car and not travel on the shuttle at all. Stairs are all outside so will also avoid the one elevator, it's only 3 levels to walk up for the highest level if I end up in the Lodge.

This is exactly what I do. I prefer National, have never had issues with them. I just booked a car for May and it was less points to pay cash and then PYB than to book via Chase portal. I get to stack shopping portal points with UR on my CSR for the purchase, then erase it with some restaurant/grocery purchases on my CSR.

I requested BBP employee cards for DSs. I'm getting an error message trying to verify the card for my 17 year old that says card member must be 18. Is this just a biz card thing because I have them as AUs on other amex cards?

Good news, URs from Motley Fool purchase on Amex thru Chase portal should post on next statement:

Ordered on the 28th, so it took 3 days to post for me.

UR portal is highly YMMV, id check again in a month. I had some where they claw back after 3 weeks. I even got a clawback because they claim my item was on sale, therefore did not qualify for the extra points... even though i had bought another of the same item just 2 days before and that one worked just fine.

Speaking of UR's, how long does it take for support points to post? Or show as pending?
