I love credit cards so much! v3.0 (see first page for add'l details)

For those using the Chase pay yourself back feature on the CSR and CSP check your cards...I just had 3 purchases from July and August pop up as eligible that didn’t show up before

Thank you! I had a local grocery delivery service get the 5x grocery when that was going on, but oddly didn't show up for PYB. It's showing up now!

Unfortunately right now there aren’t any support links for the 80k UR applications and all requests to match from the 60k UR applications have been denied by chase>:(

I didn't think of that. So Chase is really only giving an extra 5k in some situations....

Thanks. I had a couple from 7/26 and 8/10 show up. They had both coded as groceries originally, instead of dining like I had expected (both ice cream shops).

Usually for a PC the card # stays the same, but for a PC from a Visa to a MC I expect the number has to change, perhaps that is why?
Yes and the chase rep told me it won't work in Apple wallet at all. My old card did work for a Kindle purchase today but not for DoorDash.

Thank you all for taking the time to help me out! @alryan It took me about 5 times to read your post with help from the sticky but I get what you are saying. So the Sapphire preferred would give us $705 cash back minus the AF ($95) or that $705 is including the AF so technically we would get $790 back? Either way, I get what you are saying....its more than the 0% cards. The AF of $550 on the saffire reserve does scare me off but yes my DH could open one as well, I suppose, he has excellent credit but zero cards.
🤣 I even tried to not use so many acronyms and abbreviations! I'm glad you were able to figure it out. The CSP was my first card and I wasn't ready to do a modified double dip at that point either. That big annual fee of the Reserve scared me off as well. I try to remember what it was like just starting out and give advice that makes sense for a beginner. But if you are a go big or go home person there are tips and tricks so that that big AF isn't really so big. We can help with that. Or your DH could even open a CSP himself. Or one Freedom Unlimited and one CSP. Lots of options.

Looking for advice on a new credit card. I read the first couple of stickys so ill do my best to provide you with the best overview. We currently have 1 credit card, a Disney visa, opened 10+ years ago. (I know we can do MUCH better, rewards wise) We only use it for big purchases like trips/hotel stays, which we take a couple of times per year.

We are now doing some home remodeling and thought that with all of the 0% APR offers it would be a good time to open a new card.
We are looking for a rewards card and leaning towards either the CF Flex or CF Unlimited. Anything else we should consider?
We never keep a balance, unless there's a zero interest promo then we will divide out our payments.
WELCOME!!!

Between those two I think it really comes down to do you feel like dealing with quarterly categories? Some folks love it but I know others who find it very annoying (like makes them mad to keep track of it) and so are much happier with 1.5% back all the time the CFU offers.

The other thing I like about these cards for you is the 3% dining category. IF you want to dabble in putting normal expenses on a credit card and see how it works out for you you can try doing that with your dining expenses vs all your expenses. Dipping your toe in so to speak.

ETA: forgot it was 5% on groceries as part of the sign up bonus so I’d try it for groceries instead of dining if you’re interested in trying for everyday charges

I think I might cry. It never occured to me that my prepaid tuition plan wouldn't cover Engineering tuition which is apparently about $23,000 more than regular tuition over 4 years. Add to this the fact that my mom brought up the kids' college funds this week and what she told me they were giving each child was $10,000 less than what she told me two years ago. Not complaining--I'm very grateful they are giving my kids anything. I'm not sure if she forgot what she told me or what.

In addition, my mom and dad have the college funds for their four grandkids in high schol (two are mine) in equities. I told her to please have my dad call vanguard and move them primarily to fixed income and she got very irritated with me.
That can’t have been an easy conversation but it sounds like you made good calls across the board. With the kids so close to college I would want firm numbers to work with as well.

Oh boy....just when I'm about to get back into it, Biz cards open back up! AHHHH, anyone wanna help me with this?

I have the CIP (got it 1/20). I'm sitting on 4/24 dropping to 3/24 in October. I really have no Chase card I was waiting on with the freeze on the biz cards. So I was going to go for the free IHG one to beef up some of my points (I have the premier). If I try for the CIC (on the books I have a "legit" business, just not shooting photos these days, but still have my tax ID, etc), how long before I can go for the IHG card?

Also, would it make more sense to try for the biz aviator first? Barclay has denied me that card like 3 or 4 times. But my new card action has been much lower these days. My last new open acct was in April. If I'm approved for the biz that doesn't affect the CIC or IHG right since I'll be under 4/24 (or 3/24) still? I want more AA miles, so I'd honestly prefer that over the UR (since I COULD PC the CIP to CIC in January).

I'm just waiting to close on this stupid refi. October is always my month to get new cards! And I haven't had a MSR to hit since Jan, so I'm dying here, LOL.
have you had a Barclay card before? They are SO sensitive if you’ve hit them and run before. And just sensitive in general to us churners 🙄

Any options for lounges at DEN if I forgot my physical CSR at home? I’ve got a couple hours to kill.

I'm not sure if you have already been through DEN but there are no PP options for lounges anymore. We used to have a great option, which was a restaurant called Timberline, but that is no longer. The Amex lounge has never opened afaik.

Well given the alerts I've already received, I'm guessing it's not working. I don't need to order anything right now, but I'm not counting on my CF working.

Strange. My CF worked on an amazon purchase. The charge is on my chase account on the new CFF number.

So, here is a total noob WDW question for you that I am too scared to post over on the other boards.

Is there no way to WALK from Caribbean Beach Resort to Hollywood Studios? I can only get Maps to give me a driving path, but as the crow (or Skyliner) flies, it looks like a straight shot and a very reasonable distance. I'm reading all the reports of people trying to get to HS in time for a ROTR boarding group and I am just thinking how much easier it would be (less hassle waiting for the Skyliner or trying to get an Uber but not too early so that they turn you away) and it really seems like I'd just like to walk. Guessing that's a no-go?
Someone was just talking about trying this on another site. She posted this map (hope the link works).
My only concern would be getting to where the walking path starts, looks like a pretty major road to cross. Without kids I might try it. They are going Wednesday and said they’d report back. I can let you know what they say afterwards.
Here is their plan: “...but just walk across the grass a little at the edge of Aruba in CBR, cross Buena Vista Dr. Get to the walking path shown and it's probably a 20 minwalk!!” https://goo.gl/maps/gLDT8kBaLSNXPqtA6

The path shows it connecting with the walk from Boardwalk, by exiting near Buena Vista Dr. I'm not sure this is possible. I've walked the Boardwalk path many times and I do not remember a path that would allow access from Buena Vista Drive where it is shown on the map. Could actually still be there. Anyone else who has walked the BW path remember being able to walk 'up' to Buena Vista Drive? You walk under it on the BW path - I may be wrong but I don't think there is actually access there. People trying to walk into DHS would have to be able to walk down and join the BW path as the map is shown. Maybe I'm completely wrong and just didn't pay attention.

@KPK02090 So we've made that walk from BW to HS tons of times. I will say there's not an actual path so to say but a place in the grass that you can tell has been highly traveled. I've noticed it because its always boggled my mind on where it was going to. My personal bigger concern would be crossing Buena vista. That is an extremely busy insection and I'm 99% sure there's not a crosswalk, nor a sidewalk along buena vista. It may be well worth your money to just call an uber.

I'll have to look next time I go. Googlemaps shows concrete and I certainly don't remember concrete. It's also pretty steep up to the highway.

Happy to hear you remember the trampled grassy area.

I also can't remember ever seeing anybody walking along Buena Vista.

This made me check my Chase Freedom and activate it for Oct to Dec. Walmart and Paypal.........I never use Paypal and shopping at Walmart is rare. I'm very close to a Walmart but just don't like the store.
If you order stuff online, I've found a lot of places have the option to checkout with a credit card or paypal. Since that's the 5% category on Discover this quarter, I've used paypal to complete purchases at petsmart, etsy, and a few other boutique places. I actually used the paypal category more than I thought I would!
