This year is so incredibly crazy. We are under Tropical Storm Watch here in Miami-Dade and no one is batting an eye. We are actually heading out to look at tiles and appliances. I am an engineer and I have a really hard time with design decisions. Anyone have Kitchen-Aid appliances? I went to an appliance store (not big box) and the guy came back with a $26k estimate for Jenn-Air appliances - ummmm, no way I can go that high. We bought a basic package for our rental apartment a couple of years ago for about $3k but I want better quality appliances in the new kitchen but I don't need them Million Dollar Listing high end. We cook every day. Right now, I'm pricing out Kitchen Aid, LG, and Samsung. I think, any other suggestions?
TBH the high end appliances tend to have worse repair records. I always check out Consumer Reports before shopping. We did a gut remodel 4 years ago and decided against matching appliances because there were different features I preferred in different brands. Samsung stove, Maytag dishwasher, Kenmore fridge.

i dont think its a thing. 1) there isnt any restrictions on bonuses(ie 1 sapphire product per customer). 2) not a big SUB.
you should be able to apply for both with no issues as long as 5/24 doesnt stop u.
Freedom MDD at 4/24 can definitely be a thing.
Thanks for the feedback! I think I’ll give it a try next month. I have a CFU and I’m hoping to support him. Waiting to see some DP of getting the 5x grocery offer matched with support.

I have a kitchenaid dishwasher, samsung stove, whirlpool microwave all because they are top rated. The handles don't match but stainless steel looks basically the same so I think it's not too noticeable.

Anyone know if the southwest airlines flight change thing is going on now- where you can change flights to a different day without paying the higher fare? I can't see any sign of it on the website but thought maybe there was a certain place I have to go to see it. I have flights I need to change and it's in the next two weeks so points cost is almost double. I don't see the ability to do that now but wondering if I should go ahead and get what I need or hold out in case the window opens again?

I just checked my husbands flight for 8/10 on the app and it says he can change it. I will say when I changed it last time I had to use Twitter. Kept getting errors on the website.

Nothing available for me, but I don't fly until Mid-October. And they changed my flights three times last week.

I haven't waxed poetic on any particular points or cards for a while. Today I'm loving on the Hilton points. We aren't going to be on a safari in Africa for NYE this year so the current plans are vacationing here in Florida. I decided to book 5 nights at Baker's Cay in key Largo over New Year's a few weeks ago. It was 240,000 points since we get the 5th night free. I never bothered to look at the price per night because I recall last NYE was over $1,000 for just that one night. Well I decided to take a look and see what it would cost for the 5 nights we booked in real money. The room we booked with the Hilton Honor's member discount is a whopping $6,382.58 for those 5 nights!!! That's insane if you ask me. Not that we'd ever spend that type of money on a hotel stay or anything buy getting 2.66 cpp value on HH points is also insane. So today, I love Hilton points.

It looks like a beautiful resort and I like that they include paddleboards, kayaks, and rods with bait with the resort fee. I put my first charge on my new Surpass today so the world of hotel cards just opened up for me. I LOVE the Keys.

The resort fee isn't charged on a points stay. Which was a nice surprise. It is a beautiful resort. They have a no penalty cancellation for bookings made before August 31st as long as you cancel 24 hours before check in. It is very easy to do the physical distancing thing there and they have outdoor dining areas. Staff is wearing masks and guests are required to wear masks indoors and also outdoors if unable to practice 6 feet of physical distancing. Gold and Diamond members usually get a continental buffet breakfast but now they are delivering the continental breakfast to your room since buffets are suspended. So this feels like a safe getaway for New Year's. I'm hoping to get an upgrade offer on our no fee Hilton to either a Surpass or a second Aspire card. So far no dice. I love hotel cards. After MSR and the occasional Amex offer I don't really put any spend on them.

We bought a higher end Kitchen-Aid refrigerator recently in order to fit the existing built-in space. The edge of the drawers are a bit sharp and it’s scratched my hand a couple times. Maybe something to look for when you go shopping (never thought to look for this before!).

We had a LG refrigerator and dishwasher at our old house for over 10 years, no issues. I think they’re DH’s go to for reliability.

Our friend had a Samsung refrigerator’s compressor die after only a couple years, which made DH swear off them for refrigerators.

I have a GE stove, a Whirlpool dishwasher, a Whirlpool range hood, whirlpool refrigerator. Waiting on a Samsung refrigerator. Small countertop microwave - Panasonic. I'm going to have mostly stainless until my stove dies. Didn't want regular stainless but couldn't justify the cost difference in colors. But, it matches my other stainless - so now instead of moving to a new color choice, I'm staying with the old one.

I think color is probably more important to me than brand, and performance is more important than matching the branding. Yeah, I know, color doesn't make it run good but, it may make me feel good!

From DoC, Amex is extending the Plat travel credit -

  • For eligible Platinum Card Accounts that renew April 2020 through July 2020, this offer will be available starting August 1, 2020.
  • For eligible Platinum Card Accounts that renew August 2020 through March 2021, this offer will be available starting on the first day of your Card renewal month.
This makes me happy. I thought it was a bummer that it was only for those that renewed during that time period. I got the plat in Feb and had no idea I wouldn't be able to use a lot of what I'd planned so this helps me want to keep it, which I was planning to do anyway. Still hopeful I'll be able to get a retention on it.

Well hopefully making it to one of the US Disney Parks this year. Have a DW deposit down for Pop Century and a offsite hotel at DL (booked with ultimate rewards) and refundable Airfare booked. Both the second week of November. Would probably prefer DL but who knows if they will be open by then or if we would be able to get tickets by staying offsite. If we do end up going to DW might be a good chance to hit minimum spend on a card since we still owe $1800. Whats the best non chase card to get other than alaska? Currently at 5/24 but removed myself as an authorized user on her CSP so hoping to drop down to 4/24.

Depends on what your goals are. Other than my CSP, the two other cards you won't get out of my wallet are AMEX Gold and Citi DoubleCash.

I just had a crazy thought: fly down to Orlando just to convert our 3 day Universal Studios tickets to annual passes before the 15 month promotion ends. Or is that just crazy? Or do converted ticket not qualify for the 3 month extension?

It would not work. Disney is not selling annual passes right now. They are not allowing upgrades. No date as to when/if return. I have spent more than my fair share of time on phone with them this week and the CM’s have no idea if/when return. :(

What 15 month promo are you speaking about? Is there something new out there? Or are you thinking of the 117 day extension for people who already have AP's?

It's still targeted, though, isn't it?

Sorry, I meant universal Studios.

The way I've always read it is it's for anyone renewing. As it started yesterday now's the time to look for dps. I don't know if it's all flavors of the plat, I think all the info that's known is in that post.
